Îndemnuri finale

1 Stăruiți în dragostea frățească!2 Nu neglijați să arătați ospitalitate străinilor, pentru că, prin aceasta, unii au găzduit, fără să știe, îngeri!3 Amintiți-vă de cei care sunt închiși, ca și cum ați fi închiși împreună cu ei, și de cei care sunt torturați, ca și cum voi înșivă ați fi în suferință!4 Căsătoria să fie onorată în toate, iar patul să fie păstrat nepângărit, pentru că Dumnezeu îi va judeca pe cei desfrânați și adulteri!5 Să nu fiți dintre cei care iubesc banii! Fiți mulțumiți cu ceea ce aveți, pentru că El a spus: „Nicidecum nu te voi părăsi, nici nu te voi uita!“t

6 Astfel, putem spune cu încredere:
„Domnul este ajutorul meu; de aceea nu mă voi teme!
Ce-mi poate face un om?!“t

7 Amintiți-vă de conducătorii voștri, care v-au spus Cuvântul lui Dumnezeu! Uitați-vă la sfârșitul felului lor de viață și urmați-le exemplul de credință!8 Isus Cristos este același – ieri, astăzi și în veci!9 Să nu fiți duși în rătăcire de tot felul de învățături străine, pentru că este bine pentru inimă să fie întărită prin har, nu prin porunci cu privire la mâncare, porunci care nu i-au ajutat pe cei ce au ascultat de ele!10 Noi avem un altar de unde cei care slujesc la cort nu au dreptul să mănânce.11 Căci sângele animalelor este adus ca jertfă pentru păcate în Locul Preasfânt de către marele preot, iar trupurile animalelor sunt arse afară din tabără.12 De aceea, Isus a suferit dincolo de poarta cetății, ca să sfințească poporul prin sângele Lui.13 Așadar, să ieșim la El, în afara taberei, și să îndurăm rușinea Lui.14 Noi nu avem aici o cetate permanentă, ci suntem în căutarea celei care urmează să vină.15 Prin El deci să-I aducem întotdeauna o jertfă de laudă lui Dumnezeu, adică rodul buzelor noastre care mărturisesc Numele Lui!16 Să nu uitați binefacerea și dărnicia, pentru că lui Dumnezeu astfel de jertfe Îi plac!

17 Ascultați de conducătorii voștri și supuneți-vă lor, căci ei au grijă de sufletele voastre și vor fi răspunzători de ele, pentru ca astfel ei să facă aceasta cu bucurie și nu gemând, lucru care nu v-ar fi de nici un folos!

18 Rugați-vă pentru noi! Suntem siguri că avem o conștiință bună, dorind să ne comportăm bine în toate.19 Vă îndemn tot mai mult să faceți aceasta, ca să vă fiu trimis înapoi repede!

20 Dumnezeul păcii, Care L-a adus înapoi dintre cei morți pe Domnul nostru Isus, marele Păstort al oilor, prin sângele legământului veșnic,21 să vă echipeze cu orice lucru bun, pentru a-I face voia, lucrând între noi ceea ce este plăcut înaintea Lui, prin Isus Cristos, Căruia I se cuvine slava în vecii vecilor! Amin.

22 Vă îndemn, fraților, să primiți cuvântul de încurajare pe care vi l-am scris. De aceea v-am scris pe scurt.23 Vreau să știți că fratele nostru Timotei a fost eliberat. Dacă sosește curând, va fi cu mine când vă voi vedea.

24 Salutați-i pe toți conducătorii voștri și pe toți sfinții! Cei din Italia vă salută.25 Harul să fie cu voi toți!

Service That Pleases God

1 Keep being concerned about each other as the Lord's followers should.

2  t Be sure to welcome strangers into your home. By doing this, some people have welcomed angels as guests, without even knowing it.

3 Remember the Lord's people who are in jail and be concerned for them. Don't forget those who are suffering, but imagine you are there with them.

4  t Have respect for marriage. Always be faithful to your partner, because God will punish anyone who is immoral or unfaithful in marriage.
5  t Don't fall in love with money. Be satisfied with what you have. The Lord has promised that he will not leave us or desert us.

6 t This should make you feel like saying,
“The Lord helps me!
Why should I be afraid
of what people
can do to me?”

7 Don't forget about your leaders who taught you God's message. Remember what kind of lives they lived and try to have faith like theirs.
8 Jesus Christ never changes! He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. 9 Don't be fooled by any kind of strange teachings. It is better to receive strength from God's gift of undeserved grace than to depend on certain foods. After all, these foods don't really help the people who eat them.

10 But we have an altar where even the priests who serve in the place of worship have no right to eat.
11  t After the high priest offers the blood of animals as a sin offering, the bodies of those animals are burned outside the camp. 12 Jesus himself suffered outside the city gate, so his blood would make people holy. 13 This is why we should go outside the camp to Jesus and share in his disgrace.

14 On this earth we don't have a city that lasts forever, but we are waiting for such a city.
15 Our sacrifice is to keep offering praise to God in the name of Jesus.

16 But don't forget to help others and to share your possessions with them. This too is like offering a sacrifice that pleases God.

17 Obey your leaders and do what they say. They are watching over you, and they must answer to God. So don't make them sad as they do their work. Make them happy. Otherwise, they won't be able to help you at all.
18 Pray for us. Our consciences are clear, and we always try to live right.

19 I especially want you to pray that I can visit you again soon.

Final Prayers and Greetings

21 t I pray God will make you ready to obey him and that you will always be eager to do right. May Jesus help you do what pleases God. To Jesus Christ be glory forever and ever! Amen.

22 My friends, I have written only a short letter to encourage you, and I beg you to pay close attention to what I have said.

23 By now you surely must know that our friend Timothy is out of jail. If he gets here in time, I will bring him with me when I come to visit you.

24 Please give my greetings to your leaders and to the rest of the Lord's people.
