HEBREOS 6

1 Por eso, sigamos aprendiendo más y más, hasta que lleguemos a ser cristianos maduros. Dejemos de ocuparnos de las primeras enseñanzas que se nos dieron acerca de Cristo, y no sigamos hablando de cosas simples. Dejemos de hacer lo malo, sigamos a Cristo, y dejemos de pecar para no morir. Ya sabemos que debemos confiar en Dios,2 y que debemos bautizarnos; también sabemos que los que creen en Cristo reciben el Espíritu Santo, que los muertos volverán a vivir, y que habrá un juicio final.

3 Claro que todo esto lo seguiremos enseñando, si Dios así nos lo permite.

4-6 Pero los que dejan de creer en Cristo ya no pueden volver a ser amigos de Dios, aunque alguna vez hayan creído que el mensaje de Dios es la verdad, y con gusto lo hayan recibido como un regalo. Si dejan de creer en Cristo, lo que habrán hecho será volver a clavarlo en la cruz y burlarse de él ante todo el mundo. No importa que hayan recibido el Espíritu Santo junto con los demás, ni que hayan sabido lo bueno que es el mensaje de Dios, ni lo poderoso que Dios será en el nuevo mundo, si dejan de creer en Cristo ya no podrán volver a él.
7 En esto la gente es como un terreno. Los que creen en Cristo son como el terreno que recibe mucha lluvia y produce una buena cosecha para el sembrador, y Dios lo bendice.

8 Pero los que dejan de creer son como un terreno que sólo produce plantas con espinas: no sirve para nada, y Dios lo maldice. Al final, se le prende fuego.
9 Mis queridos hermanos, aunque les decimos estas cosas, estamos seguros de que ustedes no han dejado de creer, sino que siguen confiando en Dios. Eso es lo mejor para ustedes, pues así serán salvados.

10 Dios es justo, y nunca olvidará lo que ustedes han hecho, y siguen haciendo, para ayudar a su pueblo elegido. De esa manera, ustedes también demuestran que aman a Dios.
11 Deseamos que sigan con ese mismo entusiasmo hasta el fin, para que reciban todo lo bueno que con tanta paciencia esperan recibir.

12 No queremos que se vuelvan perezosos. Más bien, sin dudar ni un instante sigan el ejemplo de los que confían en Dios, porque así recibirán lo que Dios les ha prometido.

La promesa de Dios

13-14 Dios le hizo a Abraham esta promesa: «Yo te bendeciré mucho, y haré que tengas muchos descendientes.» Cuando Dios le juró a Abraham que cumpliría esta promesa, tuvo que jurar por sí mismo, porque no tenía a nadie más grande por quien jurar.

15 Abraham esperó con paciencia, y Dios cumplió su promesa.
16 Cuando alguien jura, usa el nombre de alguien más importante, para ponerlo por testigo.

17 Por eso, cuando Dios quiso asegurar que cumpliría su promesa, juró que daría lo prometido sin cambiar nada.
18 Ahora bien, como Dios no miente, su promesa y su juramento no pueden cambiar. Esto nos consuela, porque nosotros queremos que Dios nos proteja, y confiamos en que él nos dará lo prometido.19 Esta confianza nos da plena seguridad; es como el ancla de un barco, que lo mantiene firme y quieto en el mismo lugar. Y esta confianza nos la da Jesucristo, que traspasó la cortina del templo de Dios en el cielo, y entró al lugar más sagrado.

20 Lo hizo para dejarnos libre el camino hacia Dios, pues Cristo es para siempre el Jefe de sacerdotes, como lo fue Melquisedec.

Hebrews 6

1 Wherefore leaving the doctrine of the first principles of Christ, let us press on unto perfection; not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,2 of the teaching of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.3 And this will we do, if God permit.4 For as touching those who were once enlightened and tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit,5 and tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the age to come,6 and then fell away, it is impossible to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.7 For the land which hath drunk the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them for whose sake it is also tilled, receiveth blessing from God:8 but if it beareth thorns and thistles, it is rejected and nigh unto a curse; whose end is to be burned.9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak:10 for God is not unrighteous to forget your work and the love which ye showed toward his name, in that ye ministered unto the saints, and still do minister.11 And we desire that each one of you may show the same diligence unto the fulness of hope even to the end:12 that ye be not sluggish, but imitators of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.13 For when God made promise to Abraham, since he could swear by none greater, he sware by himself,14 saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.15 And thus, having patiently endured, he obtained the promise.16 For men swear by the greater: and in every dispute of theirs the oath is final for confirmation.17 Wherein God, being minded to show more abundantly unto the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, interposed with an oath;18 that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us:19 which we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and stedfast and entering into that which is within the veil;20 whither as a forerunner Jesus entered for us, having become a high priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
