Hebreos 6

1 Así que dejemos atrás las primeras enseñanzas acerca de Cristo. ¡Maduremos! No volvamos a lo que ya se nos enseñó. Al comienzo aprendimos a confiar en Dios y a dejar lo inútil y lo malo que hacíamos.2 En ese tiempo nos enseñaron sobre los bautismost, la imposición de las manos,t la resurrección de los muertos y el juicio eterno.

3 Si Dios lo permite, seguiremos adelante con enseñanzas más avanzadas.
4-6 Es imposible hacer volver a los que deciden separarse del camino de Dios. Hablo de los que ya conocieron la verdad y recibieron el don de Dios, o sea los que participaron también del Espíritu Santo y disfrutaron del excelente mensaje de Dios y de los grandes poderes del mundo que está por venir. Cuando se separan del camino de Dios, ellos mismos están crucificando a Cristo otra vez y lo exponen a la burla de todos.7 Por ejemplo, hay tierra que recibe bastante lluvia, se cuida y se siembra en ella. Si produce plantas que den buen fruto, esa tierra tiene la bendición de Dios.

8 Pero esa tierra no vale la pena si sólo crecen en ella espinos y maleza. Corre el riesgo de caer bajo maldición de Dios y terminará destruida con fuego.
9 Estimados hermanos, lo que acabamos de decir es duro, pero estamos convencidos de que ustedes son como tierra buena donde se cultiva la salvación.10 Dios no es injusto para olvidarse de todo el trabajo que han hecho y recordará que ustedes le han demostrado su amor ayudando al pueblo de Dios y que continúan haciéndolo.11 Queremos que cada uno de ustedes siga esforzándose así toda la vida hasta que vean completamente realizada su esperanza.

12 No queremos que se vuelvan perezosos. Más bien, sigan el ejemplo de los que reciben las promesas de Dios porque tienen fe y paciencia.
13 Dios le hizo una promesa a Abrahamt, y como no había nadie más grande que él por quién jurar, juró por sí mismo. Así que él se comprometió consigo mismo a cumplir esa promesa.14 Dios dijo: «Verdaderamente te bendeciré y te daré muchos descendientes».t

15 Abraham esperó con paciencia que eso se cumpliera y recibió lo prometido.
16 Los seres humanos usan el nombre de alguien más grande que ellos para darle seriedad a una promesa. Al hacerlo así, afirman que lo dicho es verdad y eso termina toda discusión entre ellos.17 De igual manera, Dios quería demostrar que su promesa era confiable y que la gente iba a recibir lo prometido. Dios dijo que algo sucedería y lo afirmó con una promesa.18 Hay dos cosas imposibles: que Dios mienta y que no cumpla lo que promete. Esas dos cosas nos dan confianza a los que nos hemos refugiado en él. Nos fortalecen para continuar en la esperanza que Dios nos da.19 Tenemos esa esperanza tan fuerte y segura como un ancla que sostiene el alma. Nuestra esperanza llega más allá de la cortinat del Lugar Santísimot del cielo.

20 Jesús ya entró allí y abrió camino para nosotros, convirtiéndose para siempre en sumo sacerdote tal como fue Melquisedect.

Hebrews 6

The Peril of Falling Away

1 Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,2 of instruction about washings and laying on of hands, and the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment.3 And this we will do, if God permits.4 For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit,5 and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,6 and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame.7 For ground that drinks the rain which often falls on it and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God;8 but if it yields thorns and thistles, it is worthless and close to being cursed, and it ends up being burned.

Better Things for You

9 But, beloved, we are convinced of better things concerning you, and things that accompany salvation, though we are speaking in this way.10 For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having ministered and in still ministering to the saints.11 And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end,12 so that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

13 For when God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself,14 saying, "I WILL SURELY BLESS YOU AND I WILL SURELY MULTIPLY YOU."15 And so, having patiently waited, he obtained the promise.16 For men swear by one greater than themselves, and with them an oath given as confirmation is an end of every dispute.17 In the same way God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an oath,18 so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us.19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil,20 where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
