Hebreus 6

1 Por isso, vamos seguir em frente para chegarmos a ser adultos, e colocar de lado as primeiras noções da mensagem de Cristo. Não vamos lançar de novo as bases dessa mensagem, que são: o arrependimento de obras que levam à morte, a fé em Deus,2 o ensino a respeito de batismost, a imposição de mãos, a ressurreição dos mortos e o julgamento eterno.

3 Nós temos que ir em frente e alcançar a maturidade. E, se Deus quiser, nós faremos isso.

4-6 É impossível, pois, trazer de volta ao arrependimento aqueles que uma vez foram iluminados, que provaram o dom celestial, que se tornaram participantes do Espírito Santot, que provaram a boa mensagem de Deus e os poderes do mundo que ainda virá, e depois caíram. Sim, é impossível trazê-los de volta ao arrependimento, uma vez que eles mesmos estão novamente crucificando ao Filho de Deus e zombando dele publicamente.
7 Essas pessoas são como a terra que recebe a chuva cada vez que cai sobre ela. Se ela produz plantas úteis para os que trabalham nela, recebe bênçãos de Deus.

8 Mas se, ao contrário, produz espinhos e ervas inúteis, ela não serve para nada. Está em perigo de ser amaldiçoada e acabará por ser queimada.

As melhores coisas pertencem à salvação

9 Queridos irmãos, embora falemos desta maneira, estamos certos quanto a vocês. Temos certeza de que poderemos ver, da parte de vocês, coisas melhores e que os levem à salvação.10 Deus não é injusto. Ele não se esquecerá do trabalho de vocês ou do amor que mostraram em nome dele, pois ajudaram e ainda ajudam o seu povo.11 O nosso desejo é que cada um de vocês continue mostrando a mesma dedicação até o fim. Assim certamente receberão tudo o que esperam.

12 Nós não queremos que vocês se tornem preguiçosos. O que nós queremos é que imitem aqueles que, pela fé e pela paciência, recebem a herança que Deus prometeu.

A certeza da promessa de Deus

13 Quando Deus fez a promessa a Abraãot, Ele jurou por si mesmo, uma vez que não tinha ninguém superior por quem jurar.14 Ele disse: "Eu certamente abençoarei a você e lhe darei muitos descendentes"t.

15 E, assim, depois de Abraão ter esperado com paciência, recebeu o que Deus lhe tinha prometido.
16 As pessoas juram pelo que lhes é superior e o juramento, servindo para confirmar o que disseram, acaba com toda discussão.17 Deus queria deixar bem claro aos seus herdeiros que Ele jamais mudaria de idéia com relação à sua promessa e, por isso, confirmou o que tinha dito com um juramento.18 É impossível que Deus minta e, portanto, estas duas coisas nunca mudam: o que Deus disse e o que Ele jurou. Assim nós, que nos refugiamos nele, seremos grandemente encorajados e poderemos segurar firme a esperança que nos foi dada.19 Esta esperança mantém nossa alma firme e segura, assim como a âncora mantém firme e seguro o barco. Ela atravessa a cortina do templo celestial e penetra no Lugar Santíssimot.

20 Foi nesse lugar que Jesus entrou por nós e antes de nós, tornando-se Sumo Sacerdote para sempre, de acordo com a ordem do sacerdócio de Melquisedeque.

Hebrews 6

The Peril of Falling Away

1 Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,2 of instruction about washings and laying on of hands, and the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment.3 And this we will do, if God permits.4 For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit,5 and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,6 and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame.7 For ground that drinks the rain which often falls on it and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God;8 but if it yields thorns and thistles, it is worthless and close to being cursed, and it ends up being burned.

Better Things for You

9 But, beloved, we are convinced of better things concerning you, and things that accompany salvation, though we are speaking in this way.10 For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having ministered and in still ministering to the saints.11 And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end,12 so that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

13 For when God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself,14 saying, "I WILL SURELY BLESS YOU AND I WILL SURELY MULTIPLY YOU."15 And so, having patiently waited, he obtained the promise.16 For men swear by one greater than themselves, and with them an oath given as confirmation is an end of every dispute.17 In the same way God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an oath,18 so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us.19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil,20 where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
