1 En consecuencia, demos por sabido lo que se refiere al abecé de la doctrina cristiana y ocupémonos de lo que es propio de adultos. No es cuestión de volver a insistir en cosas tan fundamentales como la renuncia a una vida de pecado, la fe en Dios,t 2 la doctrina sobre los ritos bautismalest, la imposición de las manos, la resurrección de los muertos y el juicio que decidirá nuestro destino eterno.t
3 Este es el plan que, con la ayuda de Dios, vamos a seguir.Advertencia contra la apostasía
4 Es imposible, en efecto, que quienes fueron un día iluminados, saborearon el don celestial, participaron del Espíritu Santo,t 5 gustaron la dulzura del mensaje divino y experimentaron las maravillas del mundo futuro, 6 y a pesar de ello apostataron, puedan de nuevo convertirse y renovarse. Lo que hacen es crucificar otra vez en sí mismos al Hijo de Dios y exponerlo a público escarnio.t 7 Y es que cuando la tierra embebe la lluvia que cae insistentemente sobre ella y produce plantas útiles a quienes la cultivan, es una tierra que ha recibido la bendición de Dios.
8 Pero si no produce más que cardos y espinas, es una tierra baldía, a un paso de ser maldecida, y acabará siendo pasto de las llamas.Esperanza en la promesa de Dios
9 A pesar de hablarles en este tono, estamos seguros, hermanos queridos, que van por buen camino en lo que respecta a la salvación. 10 Porque no es injusto Dios como para olvidarse de los afanes y del amor que, en atención a él*, ustedes han derrochado y siguen derrochando al servicio de los creyentest.t 11 Sólo quisiéramos pedirles una cosa: que no den tregua a su empeño hasta que la esperanza se convierta por fin en plena realidad.t
12 Y no sean perezosos; antes bien, imiten a quienes, mediante la fe y la constancia, están a punto de heredar las promesas divinas.
13 En efecto, cuando Dios hizo la promesa a Abrahán, al no tener otro más grande por quien jurar, juró por sí mismo diciendo: 14 Te colmaré de bendiciones y haré innumerable tu descendenciat.t
15 Abrahán, por su parte, gracias a su paciente esperanza, alcanzó la promesa.t
16 Los hombres, cuando juran, lo hacen por uno superior a ellos y, una vez interpuesto el juramento como garantía, ya no hay más que discutir. 17 Igualmente, queriendo Dios asegurar a los herederos de la promesa que su decisión era irrevocable, interpuso un juramento. 18 Ofrecía así dos garantíast, ambas irrevocables, porque Dios no puede engañar, y proporcionaba un poderoso consuelo a quienes se refugiaban en él para mantener la esperanza a que estamos destinados.t 19 Una esperanza que es para nuestra vida como un ancla firme y segura, y que penetra hasta lo más interior del santuariot,t 20 adonde, abriéndonos camino, ya ha entrado Jesús, constituido sumo sacerdote para siempre según el rango de Melquisedect.
Hebrews 6
1 Therefore we must progress beyondt the elementaryt instructions about Christt and move ont to maturity, not laying this foundation again: repentance from dead works and faith in God,2 teaching about baptisms, laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.3 And this is what we intend to do,t if God permits.4 For it is impossible in the case of those who have once been enlightened, tasted the heavenly gift, become partakers of the Holy Spirit,5 tasted the good word of God and the miracles of the coming age,6 and then have committed apostasy,t to renew them again to repentance, sincet they are crucifying the Son of God for themselves all over againt and holding him up to contempt.7 For the ground that has soaked up the rain that frequently falls ont it and yields useful vegetation for those who tend it receives a blessing from God.8 But if it produces thorns and thistles, it is useless and about to be cursed;t its fate is to be burned.9 But in your case, dear friends, even though we speak like this, we are convinced of better things relating to salvation.10 For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love you have demonstrated for his name, in having served and continuing to serve the saints.11 But we passionately want each of you to demonstrate the same eagerness for the fulfillment of your hope until the end,
12 so that you may not be sluggish,t but imitators of those who through faith and perseverance inherit the promises.
13 Now when God made his promise to Abraham, since he could swear by no one greater, he swore by himself,14 saying, “Surely I will bless you greatly and multiply your descendants abundantly.”ts15 And so by persevering, Abrahamt inherited the promise.16 For peoplet swear by something greater than themselves,t and the oath serves as a confirmation to end all dispute.t17 In the same wayt God wanted to demonstrate more clearly to the heirs of the promise that his purpose was unchangeable,t and so he intervened with an oath,18 so that we who have found refuge in himt may find strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us through two unchangeable things, since it is impossible for God to lie.19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, sure and steadfast, which reaches inside behind the curtain,s
20 where Jesus our forerunner entered on our behalf, since he became a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.s
