EPISTOLA AGLI EBREI 6

1 Perciò, lasciata la parola del principio di Cristo, tendiamo alla perfezionet, non ponendo di nuovo il fondamento del rinunziamento alla opere morte, e della fede in Dio; 2 e della dottrina de'~battesimit, e dell'imposizione delle manit, e della risurrezion de'~mortit, e del giudicio eternot.

3 E ciò faremo, se Iddio lo permettet.
4 Perciocchè egli è impossibilet, che coloro che sono stati una volta illuminati, e che hanno gustato il dono celestet, e sono stati fatti partecipi dello Spirito Santot; 5 ed hanno gustata la buona parola di Dio, e le potenze del secolo a venire; 6 se cadono, sieno da capo rinnovati a ravvedimentot; poichè di nuovo crocifiggono a sè stessi il Figliuol di Dio, e lo espongono ad infamia. 7 Perciocchè la terra, che beve la pioggia che viene spesse volte sopra essa, e produce erba comoda a coloro da'~quali altresì è coltivata, riceve benedizione da Dio.

8 Ma quella che porta spine e triboli, è riprovata, e vicina a maledizione; la cui fine è d'essere arsat.
9 Ora, diletti, noi ci persuadiamo di voi cose migliori, e che attengono alla salute; benchè parliamo in questa maniera. 10 Perciocchè Iddio non è ingiusto, per dimenticar l'opera vostrat, e la fatica della carità che avete mostrata inverso il suo nome, avendo ministrato, e ministrando ancora a'~santi. 11 Ma desideriamo che ciascun di voi mostri infino al fine il medesimo zelo, alla piena certezza della speranza;

12 acciocchè non diveniate lenti; anzi siate imitatori di coloro che per fede e pazienza, eredano le promesse.
13 Perciocchè, facendo Iddio le promesse ad Abrahamo, perchè non potea giurare per alcun maggiore, giurò per sè stesso; 14 dicendot: Certo, io ti benedirò, e ti moltiplicherò grandemente. 15 E così egli, avendo aspettato con pazienza, ottenne la promessa. 16 Perciocchè gli uomini giurano bene per un maggiore, e pure il giuramento è per loro suprema conferma in ogni contesat. 17 Secondo ciò, volendo Iddio vie maggiormente dimostrare agli eredi della promessa come il suo consiglio è immutabilet, intervenne con giuramento. 18 Acciocchè, per due cose immutabili, nelle quali egli è impossibile che Iddio abbia mentitot, abbiamo ferma consolazione, noi, che ci siamo rifugiati in lui, per ottener la speranza propostaci. 19 La quale noi abbiamo, a guisa d'ancora sicura e ferma dell'anima, e che entra fino al didentro della cortinat; 20 dov'è entrato per noi, come precursoret, Gesù, fatto in eterno sommo sacerdotet, secondo l'ordine di Melchisedec.

Hebrews 6

1 Therefore we must progress beyondt the elementaryt instructions about Christt and move ont to maturity, not laying this foundation again: repentance from dead works and faith in God,2 teaching about baptisms, laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.3 And this is what we intend to do,t if God permits.4 For it is impossible in the case of those who have once been enlightened, tasted the heavenly gift, become partakers of the Holy Spirit,5 tasted the good word of God and the miracles of the coming age,6 and then have committed apostasy,t to renew them again to repentance, sincet they are crucifying the Son of God for themselves all over againt and holding him up to contempt.7 For the ground that has soaked up the rain that frequently falls ont it and yields useful vegetation for those who tend it receives a blessing from God.8 But if it produces thorns and thistles, it is useless and about to be cursed;t its fate is to be burned.9 But in your case, dear friends, even though we speak like this, we are convinced of better things relating to salvation.10 For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love you have demonstrated for his name, in having served and continuing to serve the saints.11 But we passionately want each of you to demonstrate the same eagerness for the fulfillment of your hope until the end,

12 so that you may not be sluggish,t but imitators of those who through faith and perseverance inherit the promises.
13 Now when God made his promise to Abraham, since he could swear by no one greater, he swore by himself,14 saying, “Surely I will bless you greatly and multiply your descendants abundantly.”ts15 And so by persevering, Abrahamt inherited the promise.16 For peoplet swear by something greater than themselves,t and the oath serves as a confirmation to end all dispute.t17 In the same wayt God wanted to demonstrate more clearly to the heirs of the promise that his purpose was unchangeable,t and so he intervened with an oath,18 so that we who have found refuge in himt may find strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us through two unchangeable things, since it is impossible for God to lie.19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, sure and steadfast, which reaches inside behind the curtain,s

20 where Jesus our forerunner entered on our behalf, since he became a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.s
