عبرانیان 6

1 پس بیایید تعالیم ابتدایی دربارۀ مسیح را پشت سر نهاده، به‌سوی کمال پیش برویم، و دیگر بار توبه از اعمال منتهی به مرگ،t و ایمان به خدا،2 و آموزشِ تعمیدها،t و دستگذاری‌ها، و رستاخیز مردگان و مجازات ابدی را بنیاد ننهیم.3 و چنین نیز خواهیم کرد، هرگاه خدا اجازه دهد.4 زیرا آنان که یک بار منوّر گشتند و طعم آن موهبت آسمانی را چشیدند و در روح‌القدس سهیم شدند5 و طعم نیکویی کلام خدا و نیروهای عصر آینده را چشیدند،6 اگر سقوط کنند، ممکن نیست بتوان ایشان را دیگر بار به توبه آورد، چرا کهt به زیان خویش، پسر خدا را باز بر صلیب می‌کنند و او را در برابر چشم همگان بی‌حرمت می‌سازند.7 اگر زمینی، بارانی را که بارها بر آن می‌بارد جذب کند و برای کسانی که به‌خاطر آنها کِشت شده است محصول مفید بار آورَد، از خدا برکت می‌یابد.8 امّا زمینی که خار و خس بار می‌آورد، بی‌ارزش است و در خطر لعنت قرار دارد، و سرانجام نیز سوزانده خواهد شد.9 ای عزیزان، هر چند این‌چنین سخن می‌گوییم، امّا در مورد شما یقین داریم که چیزهای بهتر که با نجات همراه است، نصیبتان خواهد شد.10 زیرا خدا بی‌انصاف نیست که عمل شما و محبتی را که به‌خاطر نام او در خدمت به مقدّسانt نشان داده و می‌دهید فراموش کند.11 آرزوی ما این است که هر‌یک از شما همین جدیّت را برای تحقق امیدتان تا به آخر نشان دهید،12 و کاهل نباشید، بلکه از کسانی سرمشق گیرید که با ایمان و شکیبایی وارث وعده‌ها می‌شوند.

قطعی بودن وعده‌های خدا

13 هنگامی که خدا به ابراهیم وعده داد، چون بزرگتری از خودش نبود که به او سوگند خورَد، پس به خود سوگند خورد14 و فرمود: «به‌یقین تو را برکت خواهم داد و فرزندان بسیار به تو خواهم بخشید.»15 و بدین‌گونه، ابراهیم پس از آنکه با شکیبایی انتظار کشید، وعده را یافت.16 آدمیان به کسی بزرگتر از خود سوگند می‌خورند و سوگند، سخن شخص را تضمین می‌کند و به همۀ بحثها پایان می‌بخشد.17 به همین‌سان، چون خدا خواست تغییرناپذیر بودن قصد خود را بر وارثان وعده‌ها هر چه آشکارتر سازد، آن را با سوگند تضمین کرد،18 تا به‌واسطۀ دو امر تغییرناپذیر، که ممکن نیست خدا دربارۀ آنها دروغ بگوید، ما از دلگرمی بسیار برخوردار شویم، ما که گریخته‌ایم تا امیدی را که پیش روی ما قرار داده شده است، به‌چنگ گیریم.19 این امید، به‌منزلۀ لنگری محکم و ایمن برای جان ماست، امیدی که به محرابِ پشت پرده راه می‌یابد،20 جایی که عیسی چون پیشرو ما، و به نمایندگی از ما، داخل شد؛ همان که جاودانه کاهن اعظم شده است، از مرتبۀ مِلْکیصِدِق.

HEBREWS 6

1 We must try to become mature and start thinking about more than just the basic things we were taught about Christ. We shouldn't need to keep talking about why we ought to turn from deeds that bring death and why we ought to have faith in God. 2 And we shouldn't need to keep teaching about baptismst or about the laying on of handst or about people being raised from death and the future judgment.

3 Let's grow up, if God is willing.

4-6 But what about people who turn away after they have already seen the light and have received the gift from heaven and have shared in the Holy Spirit? What about those who turn away after they have received the good message of God and the powers of the future world? There is no way to bring them back. What they are doing is the same as nailing the Son of God to a cross and insulting him in public!
7 A field is useful to farmers, if there is enough rain to make good crops grow. In fact, God will bless such a field.

8 t But land that produces only thornbushes is worthless. It is likely to fall under God's curse, and in the end it will be set on fire.
9 My friends, we are talking this way. But we are sure that you are doing those really good things people do when they are being saved. 10 God is always fair. He will remember how you helped his people in the past and how you are still helping them. You belong to God, and he won't forget the love you have shown his people. 11 We wish each of you would always be eager to show how strong and lasting your hope really is.

12 Then you would never be lazy. You would be following the example of those who had faith and were patient until God kept his promise to them.

God's Promise Is Sure

18 God cannot tell lies! And so his promises and vows are two things that can never be changed.
We have run to God for safety. Now his promises should greatly encourage us to take hold of the hope that is right in front of us. 19 t This hope is like a firm and steady anchor for our souls. In fact, hope reaches behind the curtaint and into the most holy place. 20 t Jesus has gone there ahead of us, and he is our high priest forever, just like Melchizedek.t
