Hebreerbrevet 6

1 Låt oss därför lämna bakom oss de första grunderna i Kristi lära och föras till fullkomlighet. Låt oss inte på nytt lägga grunden med omvändelse från döda gärningar och tro på Gud,2 med undervisning om reningart och handpåläggning, om de dödas uppståndelse och en evig dom.3 Ja, detta vill vi göra, om Gud tillåter.4 Ty de som en gång tagit emot ljuset och smakat den himmelska gåvan, fått del av den helige Ande5 och smakat det goda Gudsordet och den kommande världens krafter6 men sedan avfallit, dem är det omöjligt att föra till ny omvändelse,t eftersom de själva på nytt korsfäster Guds Son och öppet hånar honom.7 Ty en åker som dricker regnet som ofta faller på den och som ger god gröda åt dem som den brukas för, den åkern får välsignelse från Gud.8 Men bär den törnen och tistlar är den värdelös, och förbannelsen är inte långt borta. Slutet blir att den bränns av.9 Men när det gäller er, ni älskade, är vi övertygade om det bästa, vad som hör till er frälsning, fastän vi talar på detta sätt.10 Ty Gud är inte orättvis, så att han glömmer vad ni har gjort och vilken kärlek ni har visat hans namn genom att nu som tidigare tjäna de heliga.11 Men vi önskar att var och en av er skall visa samma iver att bevara full visshet i hoppet ända till slutet,12 så att ni inte blir tröga utan följer dem som genom tro och uthållighet får det utlovade arvet.

Guds löfte står fast

13 När Gud gav löftet åt Abraham svor han vid sig själv - han hade ju ingen högre att svära vid.14 Han sade: "Jag skall rikligt välsigna dig och rikligt föröka dig".t15 Så fick Abraham efter tålig väntan vad Gud hade lovat.16 Människor svär ju vid den som är större än de själva, och eden bekräftar vad de sagt och gör slut på alla deras invändningar.17 Eftersom Gud ännu klarare ville visa för dem som skulle ärva det som var utlovat, hur orubbligt hans beslut är, bekräftade han sitt löfte med en ed.18 Så skulle vi genom två orubbliga uttalanden, i vilka Gud omöjligt kan ljuga, få en kraftig uppmuntran, vi som har sökt vår tillflykt i att hålla fast vid det hopp vi äger.19 I detta hopp har vi ett tryggt och säkert själens ankare som når innanför förlåten,t20 dit Jesus för vår skull gick in och öppnade vägen för oss, när han blev överstepräst för evigt, en sådan som Melkisedek.

HEBREWS 6

1 We must try to become mature and start thinking about more than just the basic things we were taught about Christ. We shouldn't need to keep talking about why we ought to turn from deeds that bring death and why we ought to have faith in God. 2 And we shouldn't need to keep teaching about baptismst or about the laying on of handst or about people being raised from death and the future judgment.

3 Let's grow up, if God is willing.

4-6 But what about people who turn away after they have already seen the light and have received the gift from heaven and have shared in the Holy Spirit? What about those who turn away after they have received the good message of God and the powers of the future world? There is no way to bring them back. What they are doing is the same as nailing the Son of God to a cross and insulting him in public!
7 A field is useful to farmers, if there is enough rain to make good crops grow. In fact, God will bless such a field.

8 t But land that produces only thornbushes is worthless. It is likely to fall under God's curse, and in the end it will be set on fire.
9 My friends, we are talking this way. But we are sure that you are doing those really good things people do when they are being saved. 10 God is always fair. He will remember how you helped his people in the past and how you are still helping them. You belong to God, and he won't forget the love you have shown his people. 11 We wish each of you would always be eager to show how strong and lasting your hope really is.

12 Then you would never be lazy. You would be following the example of those who had faith and were patient until God kept his promise to them.

God's Promise Is Sure

18 God cannot tell lies! And so his promises and vows are two things that can never be changed.
We have run to God for safety. Now his promises should greatly encourage us to take hold of the hope that is right in front of us. 19 t This hope is like a firm and steady anchor for our souls. In fact, hope reaches behind the curtaint and into the most holy place. 20 t Jesus has gone there ahead of us, and he is our high priest forever, just like Melchizedek.t
