Ê-sai 19

1 Gánh nặng về Ê-díp-tô. Nầy, Đức Giê-hô-va cỡi đám mây mau kíp đến Ê-díp-tô; các thần tượng của Ê-díp-tô đều run rẩy trước mặt Ngài, lòng Ê-díp-tô sẽ tan chảy giữa nó.2 Ta sẽ xui người Ê-díp-tô đánh người Ê-díp-tô: anh em nghịch cùng anh em, lân cận nghịch cùng lân cận, thành nghịch cùng thành, nước nghịch cùng nước.3 Tâm thần Ê-díp-tô sẽ lụn bại giữa nó, ta sẽ phá tan mưu chước nó. Bấy giờ chúng nó sẽ cầu hỏi các thần tượng cùng thuật sĩ, kẻ kêu hồn cùng thầy bói.4 Ta sẽ phó dân Ê-díp-tô trong tay chúa hung dữ, và một vua bạo ngược sẽ cai trị chúng nó; Chúa, là Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân, phán vậy.5 Nước biển sẽ tắt, sông cạn và khô.6 Các sông sẽ trở nên hôi thối; ngòi rạch rặc xuống và khan đi; sậy lau đều chết héo.7 Các đồng cỏ ở bờ sông Ni-lơ cùng hết thảy đồng ruộng đã gieo của nó, đều héo khô, bị thổi đi, không còn nữa.8 Những người đánh cá sẽ than vãn, mọi kẻ buông câu nơi sông Ni-lơ đều rên siết, và kẻ thả lưới trên các dòng nước đều âu sầu.9 Những kẻ làm vải gai mịn và những kẻ dệt vải trắng đều xấu hổ.10 Các trụ của Ê-díp-tô đều bị gãy, hết thảy thợ thầy đều có lòng lo.11 Các quan trưởng ở Xô-an rất đần độn; mưu sĩ rất khôn ngoan của Pha-ra-ôn, chỉ bày ra những kế dại khờ. Sao các ngươi nói cùng Pha-ra-ôn rằng: Tôi là con các bậc hiền triết, con các vua đời xưa?12 Vậy thì các bậc hiền triết ngươi ở đâu? Các bật ấy hãy cho ngươi biết đi; các bậc ấy nên biết Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân đã định gì về Ê-díp-tô.13 Các quan trưởng ở Xô-an đã nên dại dột; các quan trưởng ở Nốp bị lừa dối; những người làm hòn đá góc của các chi phái Ê-díp-tô đã làm cho nó lầm lạc.14 Đức Giê-hô-va đã xen sự trái ngược vào giữa nó, nên chúng nó làm cho Ê-díp-tô sai lầm trong mọi việc, như người say vừa mửa vừa đi xiêu tó.15 Chẳng có việc gì mà đầu và đuôi, cây kè và cây lau sẽ làm ra được cho Ê-díp-tô cả.16 Trong ngày đó, người Ê-díp-tô sẽ giống như đàn bà; thấy tay Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân vung lên trên mình, thì run rẩy sợ hãi.17 Bấy giờ đất Giu-đa sẽ nên sự kinh hoàng cho Ê-díp-tô; hễ khi người ta xưng tên ấy ra trước mặt ai thì nấy sợ khiếp, vì ý chỉ của Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân đã định nghịch cùng nó.18 Trong ngày đó, tại xứ Ê-díp-tô, sẽ có năm thành nói tiếng Ca-na-an, và chỉ Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân mà thề. Trong đó có một thành gọi là thành hủy diệt.19 Trong ngày đó, sẽ có một bàn thờ cho Đức Giê-hô-va ở giữa xứ Ê-díp-tô, và có một trụ cho Đức Giê-hô-va nơi bờ cõi nói.20 Ấy là dấu và chứng cho Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân tại xứ Ê-díp-tô; bởi chưng chúng sẽ kêu đến Đức Giê-hô-va vì cớ kẻ bạo ngược, và Ngài sẽ sai một Đấng cứu và binh vực để giải thoát họ.21 Đức Giê-hô-va sẽ cho Ê-díp-tô biết Ngài; trong ngày đó người Ê-díp-tô sẽ biết Đức Giê-hô-va; ắt họ sẽ dâng hi sinh và của lễ mà thờ phượng Ngài, lại khấn nguyện cùng Đức Giê-hô-va, và hoàn nguyện.22 Đức Giê-hô-va sẽ đánh Ê-díp-tô, đánh rồi lại chữa lành; họ sẽ trở về cùng Đức Giê-hô-va, Ngài sẽ nghe lời họ cầu nguyện và chữa lành cho.23 Trong ngày đó, sẽ có con đường cái đi từ Ê-díp-tô đến A-si-ri; người A-si-ri sẽ đến Ê-díp-tô, người Ê-díp-tô sẽ đến A-si-ri; người Ê-díp-tô và người A-si-ri đều cùng nhau thờ phượng Đức Giê-hô-va.24 Trong ngày đó, Y-sơ-ra-ên sẽ hiệp cùng Ê-díp-tô và A-si-ri làm ba, đặng làm nên nguồn phước giữa thiên hạ;25 vì Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân đã chúc phước cho họ, mà rằng Ê-díp-tô dân ta, A-si-ri công trình của tay ta, Y-sơ-ra-ên gia tài ta, đều hãy được phước!

Isaiah 19

The Lord Will Judge Egypt

1 Here is a message about Egypt:
Look, the Lord rides on a swift-moving cloud
and approaches Egypt.
The idols of Egypt tremble before him;
the Egyptians lose their courage.t

2 “I will provoke civil strife in Egypt,t
brothers will fight with each other,
as will neighbors,
cities, and kingdoms.t

3 The Egyptians will panic,t
and I will confuse their strategy.t
They will seek guidance from the idols and from the spirits of the dead,
from the pits used to conjure up underworld spirits, and from the magicians.t

4 I will hand Egypt over to a harsh master;
a powerful king will rule over them,”
says the sovereign master,t the Lord who commands armies.

5 The water of the sea will be dried up,
and the river will dry up and be empty.t

6 The canalst will stink;t
the streams of Egypt will trickle and then dry up;
the bulrushes and reeds will decay,

7 along with the plants by the mouth of the river.t
All the cultivated land near the river
will turn to dust and be blown away.t

8 The fishermen will mourn and lament,
all those who cast a fishhook into the river,
and those who spread out a net on the water’s surface will grieve.t

9 Those who make clothes from combed flax will be embarrassed;
those who weave will turn pale.t

10 Those who make clotht will be demoralized;t
all the hired workers will be depressed.t

11 The officials of Zoan are nothing but fools;t
Pharaoh’s wise advisers give stupid advice.
How dare you say to Pharaoh,
“I am one of the sages,
one well-versed in the writings of the ancient kings?”t

12 But where, oh where, are your wise men?t
Let them tell you, let them find out
what the Lord who commands armies has planned for Egypt.

13 The officials of Zoan are fools,
the officials of Memphist are misled;
the rulerst of her tribes lead Egypt astray.

14 The Lord has made them undiscerning;t
they lead Egypt astray in all she does,
so that she is like a drunk sliding around in his own vomit.t

15 Egypt will not be able to do a thing,
head or tail, shoots and stalk.t
16 At that timet the Egyptianst will be like women.s They will tremble and fear because the Lord who commands armies brandishes his fist against them.t

17 The land of Judah will humiliate Egypt. Everyone who hears about Judah will be afraid because of what the Lord who commands armies is planning to do to them.t
18 At that time five citiess in the land of Egypt will speak the language of Canaan and swear allegiance to the Lord who commands armies. One will be called the City of the Sun.s19 At that time there will be an altar for the Lord in the middle of the land of Egypt, as well as a sacred pillart dedicated to the Lord at its border.20 Itt will become a visual reminder in the land of Egypt oft the Lord who commands armies. When they cry out to the Lord because of oppressors, he will send them a deliverer and defendert who will rescue them.21 The Lord will reveal himself to the Egyptians, and theyt will acknowledge the Lord’s authorityt at that time.t They will present sacrifices and offerings; they will make vows to the Lord and fulfill them.

22 The Lord will strike Egypt, striking and then healing them. They will turn to the Lord and he will listen to their prayerst and heal them.
23 At that time there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. The Assyrians will visit Egypt, and the Egyptians will visit Assyria. The Egyptians and Assyrians will worship together.t24 At that time Israel will be the third member of the group, along with Egypt and Assyria, and will be a recipient of blessingt in the earth.t

25 The Lord who commands armies will pronounce a blessing over the earth, saying,t “Blessed be my people, Egypt, and the work of my hands, Assyria, and my special possession,t Israel!”
