Isaías 55

Invitación a los sedientos

1 »¡Vengan a las aguas
todos los que tengan sed! ¡Vengan a comprar y a comer los que no tengan dinero! Vengan, compren vino y leche sin pago alguno. 2 ¿Por qué gastan dinero en lo que no es pan,
y su salario en lo que no satisface? Escúchenme bien, y comerán lo que es bueno, y se deleitarán con manjares deliciosos. 3 Presten atención y vengan a mí,
escúchenme y vivirán. Haré con ustedes un *pacto eterno, conforme a mi constante amor por David. 4 Lo he puesto como testigo para los pueblos,
como su jefe supremo. 5 Sin duda convocarás a naciones
que no conocías, y naciones que no te conocían correrán hacia ti, gracias al Señor tu Dios,
el *Santo de Israel, que te ha colmado de honor.» 6 Busquen al Señor mientras se deje encontrar,
llámenlo mientras esté cercano. 7 Que abandone el malvado su *camino,
y el perverso sus pensamientos. Que se vuelva al Señor, a nuestro Dios,
que es generoso para perdonar, y de él recibirá misericordia. 8 «Porque mis pensamientos no son los de ustedes,
ni sus caminos son los míos —afirma el Señor—. 9 Mis caminos y mis pensamientos
son más altos que los de ustedes; ¡más altos que los cielos sobre la tierra! 10 Así como la lluvia y la nieve
descienden del cielo, y no vuelven allá sin regar antes la tierra y hacerla fecundar y germinar para que dé semilla al que siembra y pan al que come, 11 así es también la palabra que sale de mi boca:
No volverá a mí vacía, sino que hará lo que yo deseo y cumplirá con mis propósitos. 12 Ustedes saldrán con alegría
y serán guiados en *paz. A su paso, las montañas y las colinas prorrumpirán en gritos de júbilo y aplaudirán todos los árboles del bosque. 13 En vez de zarzas, crecerán cipreses;
mirtos, en lugar de ortigas. Esto le dará renombre al Señor;
será una señal que durará para siempre.»

ISAIAH 55

The [Lord]'s Invitation

1  t If you are thirsty,
come and drink water!
If you don't have any money,
come, eat what you want!
Drink wine and milk
without paying a cent.

2  t Why waste your money
on what really isn't food?
Why work hard for something
that doesn't satisfy?
Listen carefully to me,
and you will enjoy
the very best foods.

3  t Pay close attention!
Come to me and live.
I will promise you
the eternal love and loyalty
that I promised David.

4 I made him the leader and ruler
of the nations;
he was my witness to them.

5 You will call out to nations
you have never known.
And they have never known you,
but they will come running
because I am the [Lord],
the holy God of Israel,
and I have honored you.

God's Words //Are Powerful

6 Turn to the [Lord]!
He can still be found.
Call out to God! He is near.

7 Give up your evil ways
and your evil thoughts.
Return to the [Lord] our God.
He will be merciful
and forgive your sins.

8 The [Lord] says:
“My thoughts and my ways
are not like yours.

9 Just as the heavens
are higher than the earth,
my thoughts and my ways
are higher than yours.

10  t “Rain and snow fall from the sky.
But they don't return
without watering the earth
that produces seeds to plant
and grain to eat.

11 That's how it is with my words.
They don't return to me
without doing everything
I send them to do.”

God's People //Will Celebrate

12 When you are set free,
you will celebrate
and travel home in peace.
Mountains and hills will sing
as you pass by,
and trees will clap.

13 Cypress and myrtle trees
will grow in fields
once covered by thorns.
And then those trees will stand
as a lasting witness
to the glory of the [Lord].
