یعقوب 1
1 یہ خط اللہ اور خداوند عیسیٰ مسیح کے خادم یعقوب کی طرف سے ہے۔ غیریہودی قوموں میں بکھرے ہوئے بارہ اسرائیلی قبیلوں کو سلام۔2 میرے بھائیو، جب آپ کو طرح طرح کی آزمائشوں کا سامنا کرنا پڑے تو اپنے آپ کو خوش قسمت سمجھیں،3 کیونکہ آپ جانتے ہیں کہ آپ کے ایمان کے آزمائے جانے سے ثابت قدمی پیدا ہوتی ہے۔4 چنانچہ ثابت قدمی کو بڑھنے دیں، کیونکہ جب وہ تکمیل تک پہنچے گی تو آپ بالغ اور کامل بن جائیں گے، اور آپ میں کوئی بھی کمی نہیں پائی جائے گی۔5 لیکن اگر آپ میں سے کسی میں حکمت کی کمی ہو تو اللہ سے مانگے جو سب کو فیاضی سے اور بغیر جھڑکی دیئے دیتا ہے۔ وہ ضرور آپ کو حکمت دے گا۔6 لیکن اپنی گزارش ایمان کے ساتھ پیش کریں اور شک نہ کریں، کیونکہ شک کرنے والا سمندر کی موج کی مانند ہوتا ہے جو ہَوا سے اِدھر اُدھر اُچھلتی بہتی جاتی ہے۔7 ایسا شخص نہ سمجھے کہ مجھے خداوند سے کچھ ملے گا،8 کیونکہ وہ دو دِلا اور اپنے ہر کام میں غیرمستقل مزاج ہے۔9 پست حال بھائی مسیح میں اپنے اونچے مرتبے پر فخر کرے10 جبکہ دولت مند شخص اپنے ادنیٰ مرتبے پر فخر کرے، کیونکہ وہ جنگلی پھول کی طرح جلد ہی جاتا رہے گا۔11 جب سورج طلوع ہوتا ہے تو اُس کی جُھلسا دینے والی دھوپ میں پودا مُرجھا جاتا، اُس کا پھول گر جاتا اور اُس کی تمام خوب صورتی ختم ہو جاتی ہے۔ اِس طرح دولت مند شخص بھی کام کرتے کرتے مُرجھا جائے گا۔12 مبارک ہے وہ جو آزمائش کے وقت ثابت قدم رہتا ہے، کیونکہ قائم رہنے پر اُسے زندگی کا وہ تاج ملے گا جس کا وعدہ اللہ نے اُن سے کیا ہے جو اُس سے محبت رکھتے ہیں۔13 آزمائش کے وقت کوئی نہ کہے کہ اللہ مجھے آزمائش میں پھنسا رہا ہے۔ نہ تو اللہ کو بُرائی سے آزمائش میں پھنسایا جا سکتا ہے، نہ وہ کسی کو پھنساتا ہے۔14 بلکہ ہر ایک کی اپنی بُری خواہشات اُسے کھینچ کر اور اُکسا کر آزمائش میں پھنسا دیتی ہیں۔15 پھر یہ خواہشات حاملہ ہو کر گناہ کو جنم دیتی ہیں اور گناہ بالغ ہو کر موت کو جنم دیتا ہے۔16 میرے عزیز بھائیو، فریب مت کھانا!17 ہر اچھی نعمت اور ہر اچھا تحفہ آسمان سے نازل ہوتا ہے، نوروں کے باپ سے، جس میں نہ کبھی تبدیلی آتی ہے، نہ بدلتے ہوئے سایوں کی سی حالت پائی جاتی ہے۔18 اُسی نے اپنی مرضی سے ہمیں سچائی کے کلام کے وسیلے سے پیدا کیا۔ یوں ہم ایک طرح سے اُس کی تمام مخلوقات کا پہلا پھل ہیں۔19 میرے عزیز بھائیو، اِس کا خیال رکھنا، ہر شخص سننے میں تیز ہو، لیکن بولنے اور غصہ کرنے میں دھیما۔20 کیونکہ انسان کا غصہ وہ راست بازی پیدا نہیں کرتا جو اللہ چاہتا ہے۔21 چنانچہ اپنی زندگی کی گندی عادتیں اور شریر چال چلن دُور کر کے حلیمی سے کلامِ مُقدّس کا وہ بیج قبول کریں جو آپ کے اندر بویا گیا ہے، کیونکہ یہی آپ کو نجات دے سکتا ہے۔22 کلامِ مُقدّس کو نہ صرف سنیں بلکہ اُس پر عمل بھی کریں، ورنہ آپ اپنے آپ کو فریب دیں گے۔23 جو کلام کو سن کر اُس پر عمل نہیں کرتا وہ اُس آدمی کی مانند ہے جو آئینے میں اپنے چہرے پر نظر ڈالتا ہے۔24 اپنے آپ کو دیکھ کر وہ چلا جاتا ہے اور فوراً بھول جاتا ہے کہ مَیں نے کیا کچھ دیکھا۔25 اِس کی نسبت وہ مبارک ہے جو آزاد کرنے والی کامل شریعت میں غور سے نظر ڈال کر اُس میں قائم رہتا ہے اور اُسے سننے کے بعد نہیں بھولتا بلکہ اُس پر عمل کرتا ہے۔26 کیا آپ اپنے آپ کو دین دار سمجھتے ہیں؟ اگر آپ اپنی زبان پر قابو نہیں رکھ سکتے تو آپ اپنے آپ کو فریب دیتے ہیں۔ پھر آپ کی دین داری کا اظہار بےکار ہے۔27 خدا باپ کی نظر میں دین داری کا پاک اور بےداغ اظہار یہ ہے، یتیموں اور بیواؤں کی دیکھ بھال کرنا جب وہ مصیبت میں ہوں اور اپنے آپ کو دنیا کی آلودگی سے بچائے رکھنا۔
James 1
1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are of the Dispersion, greeting.2 Count it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into manifold temptations;3 Knowing that the proving of your faith worketh patience.4 And let patience have its perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, lacking in nothing.5 But if any of you lacketh wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all liberally and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.6 But let him ask in faith, nothing doubting: for he that doubteth is like the surge of the sea driven by the wind and tossed.7 For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord;8 a doubleminded man, unstable in all his ways.9 But let the brother of low degree glory in his high estate:10 and the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.11 For the sun ariseth with the scorching wind, and withereth the grass: and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his goings.12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he hath been approved, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to them that love him.13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God; for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempteth no man:14 but each man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed.15 Then the lust, when it hath conceived, beareth sin: and the sin, when it is fullgrown, bringeth forth death.16 Be not deceived, my beloved brethren.17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, neither shadow that is cast by turning.18 Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.19 Ye know this, my beloved brethren. But let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:20 for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.21 Wherefore putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deluding your own selves.23 For if any one is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a mirror:24 for he beholdeth himself, and goeth away, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.25 But he that looketh into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and so continueth, being not a hearer that forgetteth but a doer that worketh, this man shall be blessed in his doing.26 If any man thinketh himself to be religious, while he bridleth not his tongue but deceiveth his heart, this man’s religion is vain.27 Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
