1 พี่_น้อง_ครับ ใน_ฐานะ_ที่_คุณ_เป็น_ผู้ที่_เชื่อ_ใน_พระ_เยซูคริสต์_องค์_เจ้า_ชีวิต_ผู้_ยิ่ง_ใหญ่_ของ_เรา อย่า_ลำเอียง

2 สมมุติ_ว่า มี_ชาย_คน_หนึ่ง_เดิน_เข้า_มา_ใน_ที่ประชุม_ของ_คุณ เขา_สวม_ใส่_แหวน_ทองคำ_และ_เสื้อผ้า_อย่าง_ดี และ_มี_คน_จน_คน_หนึ่ง_เข้า_มา สวม_ใส่_เสื้อผ้า_ที่_สกปรก_มอมแมม

3 แล้ว_คุณ_ก็_เอา_ใจ_ใส่_เป็น_พิเศษ_ต่อ_คน_ที่_แต่ง_ตัว_ดี และ_พูด_กับ_เขา_ว่า “เชิญ_นั่ง_ตรง_นี้_ครับ” แต่_คุณ_พูด_กับ_คน_ยากจน_ว่า “ยืน_อยู่_นั่น_แหละ” หรือ “มา_นั่ง_ตรง_พื้น_นี่_มา”

4 ถ้า_คุณ_ทำ_อย่าง_นั้น คุณ_ก็_แบ่ง_ชน_ชั้น_และ_ตัดสิน_คน_ด้วย_ความ_คิด_ที่_ชั่ว_ร้าย

5 ฟัง_ให้_ดี_นะ พี่_น้อง_ที่รัก พระเจ้า_ได้_เลือก_คน_ที่_คน_อื่น_เห็น_ว่า_ยาก_จน ให้_มา_เป็น_คน_ร่ำรวย_ใน_ความ_เชื่อ และ_ให้_มา_รับ_แผ่นดิน_ที่_พระเจ้า_ได้_สัญญา_ว่า_จะ_ให้_กับ_คน_ที่รัก_พระองค์

6 แต่_คุณ_กลับ_ดูถูก_คน_ยากจน_เหล่า_นั้น ก็_ไม่_ใช่_พวก_คน_รวย_หรอก_หรือ ที่_ข่มเหง_และ_ลาก_คอ_คุณ_ไป_ขึ้น_ศาล

7 แล้ว_ยัง_ดู_หมิ่น_องค์_เจ้า_ชีวิต_ของ_พวก_คุณ_อีก_ด้วย

8 พระคัมภีร์_ว่า “ให้_รัก_เพื่อน_บ้าน_เหมือน_รัก_ตน_เอง”t ถ้า_พวก_คุณ_ทำ_ตาม_กฎ_ข้อ_นี้ คุณ_ก็_ทำ_ถูกต้อง_แล้ว

9 แต่_ถ้า_คุณ_ลำเอียง คุณ_ก็_ทำ_บาป_และ_ถือ_ว่า_เป็น_ผู้_ฝ่าฝืน_กฎ

10 เพราะ_เมื่อ_คุณ_พยายาม_รักษา_กฎ_ทุก_ข้อ แต่_ผิด_แค่_ข้อ_เดียว_ก็_ถือ_ว่า_ผิด_กฎ_ทั้ง_หมด_ด้วย

11 เพราะ_พระเจ้า_ที่_พูด_ว่า “อย่า_เป็น_ชู้_ผัว_เมีย_เขา”t ก็_พูด_ว่า “อย่า_ฆ่า_คน”t_ด้วย ถ้า_คุณ_ไม่_ได้_เป็น_ชู้_ผัว_เมีย_เขา แต่_กลับ_ไป_ฆ่า_คน คุณ_ก็_กลาย_เป็น_ผู้_ฝ่าฝืน_กฎ_อยู่_ดี

12 ไม่ว่า_คุณ_จะ_พูด_หรือ_ทำ_อะไร_ก็_ตาม ก็_ให้_จำ_เอา_ไว้_ว่า พระเจ้า_จะ_ตัดสิน_คุณ_ด้วย_กฎ_ที่_จะ_ทำ_ให้_คุณ_เป็น_อิสระ

13 เพราะ_ฉะนั้น คุณ_ก็_ควร_มี_เมตตา_กับ_คน_อื่น_ด้วย ไม่_อย่าง_นั้น_พระเจ้า_ก็_จะ_ไม่_เมตตา_คุณ_เหมือน_กัน แต่_ถ้า_คุณ_มี_ความ_เมตตา คุณ_ก็_ไม่_ต้อง_กลัว_คำ_ตัดสิน_ของ_พระเจ้า

ความ_เชื่อ_และ_การ_กระทำ

14 พี่_น้อง_ครับ มัน_จะ_มี_ประโยชน์_อะไร_กัน_ถ้า_คน_หนึ่ง_อ้าง_ว่า เขา_มี_ความ_เชื่อ แต่_เขา_ไม่_ทำ_อะไร_เลย แล้ว_ความ_เชื่อ_นั้น_จะ_ช่วย_ให้_เขา_รอด_ได้_หรือ เป็น_ไป_ไม่_ได้

15 ถ้า_พี่_น้อง_ไม่_มี_เสื้อผ้า_ใส่ และ_ไม่_มี_อาหาร_กิน

16 แล้ว_คุณ_คน_หนึ่ง_พูด_ว่า “ขอ_ให้_มี_ความ_สุข ขอ_ให้_อบ_อุ่น_กาย_และ_ขอ_ให้_อิ่ม_หนำ_สำราญ” แต่_ไม่_ช่วย_อะไร_เลย แล้ว_มัน_จะ_มี_ประโยชน์_อะไร

17 ความ_เชื่อ_ก็_เหมือน_กัน ถ้า_ไม่_มี_การ_กระทำ_ด้วย ก็_ตาย_แล้ว_ใน_ตัว_ของ_มัน_เอง

18 อาจ_จะ_มี_บางคน_พูด_ว่า “คน_หนึ่ง_มี_ความ_เชื่อ อีก_คน_มี_การ_กระทำ” ผม_จะ_บอก_เขา_ว่า “ไหน แสดง_ความ_เชื่อ_ของ_คุณ_ที่_ไม่_ต้อง_ทำ_อะไร_เลย_ให้_ดู_หน่อย แล้ว_เดี๋ยว_ผม_จะ_แสดง_ความ_เชื่อ_ที่_คู่_กับ_การ_กระทำ_ของ_ผม_ให้_คุณ_ดู”

19 คุณ_เชื่อ_ว่า_มี_พระเจ้า_เพียง_องค์_เดียว_หรือ ดี_จัง_เลย โธ่_เอ๋ย แม้แต่_พวก_ปีศาจ_ก็_เชื่อ_อย่าง_นั้น_เหมือน_กัน แล้ว_มัน_ก็_กลัว_จน_ตัว_สั่น_ด้วย

20 เจ้าคน_โง่ อยาก_รู้_หรือ_ว่า_ความ_เชื่อ_ที่_ไม่_ต้อง_ทำ_อะไร_เลย_นั้น มัน_ไม่_ดี_ตรง_ไหน

21 พระเจ้า_ยอมรับ_อับราฮัม_บรรพบุรุษ_ของ_เรา ก็_เพราะ_การ_กระทำ_ของ_ท่าน ตอน_ที่_ท่าน_ถวาย_ลูกชาย_คือ_อิสอัค_บน_แท่น_บูชา

22 เห็น_ไหม_ว่า ความ_เชื่อ_กับ_การ_กระทำ_ของ_ท่าน_นั้น_ไป_ด้วย_กัน และ_เพราะ_การ_กระทำ_นั้น_เอง จึง_ทำ_ให้_ความ_เชื่อ_ของ_ท่าน_สมบูรณ์

23 นี่_ทำ_ให้_เห็น_ชัด_เจน_ถึง_ความ_หมาย_ของ_ข้อ_พระคัมภีร์_ที่_ว่า “อับราฮัม_เชื่อ_พระเจ้า และ_ความ_เชื่อ_ของ_ท่าน ก็_ทำ_ให้_พระเจ้า_ยอมรับ_ท่าน”t และ_ด้วย_เหตุ_นี้ ท่าน_ถึง_ได้_ชื่อ_ว่า_เป็น “เพื่อน_ของ_พระเจ้า”t

24 เห็น_ไหม_ว่า คน_ที่_พระเจ้า_จะ_ยอมรับ_นั้น จะ_ต้อง_มี_การ_กระทำ_ด้วย ไม่_ใช่_มี_แต่_ความ_เชื่อ_เพียง_อย่าง_เดียว_เท่า_นั้น

25 ดู_อย่าง_ราฮับ_สิ เธอ_เป็น_หญิง_โสเภณี แต่_พระเจ้า_ก็_ยอมรับ_เธอ_เพราะ_การ_กระทำ_ของ_เธอ ตอน_ที่_เธอ_ให้_ที่_พัก_กับ_พวก_ผู้_สอดแนม และ_ช่วย_ให้_พวก_เขา_หลบ_หนี_ไป_ทาง_อื่น

26 ดู_อย่าง_ร่าง_กาย_ที่_ไม่_มี_วิญญาณ_สิ ก็_ตาย_แล้ว ความ_เชื่อ_ที่_ไม่_มี_การ_กระทำ_ก็_ตาย_แล้ว_เหมือน_กัน

James 2

The Sin of Partiality

1 My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism.2 For if a man comes into your assembly with a gold ring and dressed in fine clothes, and there also comes in a poor man in dirty clothes,3 and you pay special attention to the one who is wearing the fine clothes, and say, "You sit here in a good place," and you say to the poor man, "You stand over there, or sit down by my footstool,"4 have you not made distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil motives?5 Listen, my beloved brethren: did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?6 But you have dishonored the poor man. Is it not the rich who oppress you and personally drag you into court?7 Do they not blaspheme the fair name by which you have been called?

8 If, however, you are fulfilling the royal law according to the Scripture, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF," you are doing well.9 But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors.10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.11 For He who said, "DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY," also said, "DO NOT COMMIT MURDER." Now if you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.12 So speak and so act as those who are to be judged by the law of liberty.13 For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.

Faith and Works

14 What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him?15 If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food,16 and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and be filled," and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?17 Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.

18 But someone may well say, "You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works."19 You believe that tGod is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.20 But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless?21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar?22 You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected;23 and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "AND ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS RECKONED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS," and he was called the friend of God.24 You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.25 In the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way?26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
