Ẹ Má Ṣe Ojuṣaaju
1 ẸNYIN ará mi, ẹ máṣe fi iṣãju enia dì igbagbọ́ Oluwa wa Jesu Kristi Oluwa ogo mu. 2 Nitori bi ọkunrin kan ba wá si ajọ nyin, pẹlu oruka wura, ati aṣọ daradara, ti talakà kan si wá pẹlu li aṣọ ẽri; 3 Ti ẹnyin si bu iyìn fun ẹniti o wọ̀ aṣọ daradara, ti ẹ si wipe, Iwọ joko nihinyi ni ibi daradara; ti ẹ si wi fun talakà na pe, Iwọ duro nibẹ̀, tabi joko nihin labẹ apoti itisẹ mi: 4 Ẹnyin kò ha nda ara nyin si meji ninu ara nyin, ẹ kò ha si di onidajọ ti o ni ero buburu? 5 Ẹ fi etí silẹ, ẹnyin ará mi olufẹ, Ọlọrun kò ha ti yàn awọn talakà aiye yi ṣe ọlọrọ̀ ni igbagbọ́, ati ajogun ijọba na, ti o ti ṣe ileri fun awọn ti o fẹ ẹ? 6 Ṣugbọn ẹnyin ti bù talakà kù. Awọn ọlọrọ̀ kò ha npọ́n nyin loju, nwọn kò ha si nwọ́ nyin lọ si ile ẹjọ? 7 Nwọn kò ha nsọ ọrọ-odi si orukọ rere nì ti a fi npè nyin? 8 Ṣugbọn bi ẹnyin ba nmu olú ofin nì ṣẹ gẹgẹ bi iwe-mimọ́, eyini ni, Iwọ fẹ ẹnikeji rẹ bi ara rẹ, ẹnyin nṣe daradara. 9 Ṣugbọn bi ẹnyin ba nṣe ojuṣãju enia, ẹnyin ndẹ̀ṣẹ, a si nda nyin lẹbi nipa ofin bi arufin. 10 Nitori ẹnikẹni ti o ba pa gbogbo ofin mọ́, ti o si rú ọ̀kan, o jẹbi gbogbo rẹ̀. 11 Nitori ẹniti o wipe, Máṣe ṣe panṣaga, on li o si wipe, Máṣe pania. Njẹ bi iwọ kò ṣe panṣaga, ṣugbọn ti iwọ pania, iwọ di arufin. 12 Ẹ mã sọrọ bẹ̃, ẹ si mã huwa bẹ̃, bi awọn ti a o fi ofin omnira dá li ẹjọ.
13 Nitori ẹniti kò ṣãnu, li a o ṣe idajọ fun laisi ãnu; ãnu nṣogo lori idajọ.Igbagbọ ati Iṣẹ́
14 Ere kili o jẹ, ará mi, bi ẹnikan wipe on ni igbagbọ́, ṣugbọn ti kò ni iṣẹ? igbagbọ́ nì le gbà a là bi? 15 Bi arakunrin tabi arabinrin kan ba wà ni ìhoho, ti o si ṣe aili onjẹ õjọ, 16 Ti ẹnikan ninu nyin si wi fun wọn pe, Ẹ mã lọ li alafia, ki ara nyin ki o maṣe tutu, ki ẹ si yó; ṣugbọn ẹ kò fi nkan wọnni ti ara nfẹ fun wọn; ère kili o jẹ? 17 Bẹ̃ si ni igbagbọ́, bi kò ba ni iṣẹ, o kú ninu ara. 18 Ṣugbọn ẹnikan le wipe, Iwọ ni igbagbọ́, emi si ni iṣẹ: fi igbagbọ́ rẹ hàn mi li aisi iṣẹ, emi o si fi igbagbọ́ mi hàn ọ nipa iṣẹ mi. 19 Iwọ gbagbọ́ pe Ọlọrun kan ni mbẹ; o dara: awọn ẹmí èṣu pẹlu gbagbọ́, nwọn si warìri. 20 Ṣugbọn, iwọ alaimoye enia, iwọ ha fẹ mọ̀ pe, igbagbọ́ li aisi iṣẹ asan ni? 21 Kì ha iṣe nipa iṣẹ li a dá Abrahamu baba wa lare, nigbati o fi Isaaki ọmọ rẹ̀ rubọ lori pẹpẹ? 22 Iwọ ri pe igbagbọ́ bá iṣẹ rẹ̀ rìn, ati pe nipa iṣẹ li a sọ igbagbọ́ di pipé. 23 Iwe-mimọ́ si ṣẹ ti o wipe, Abrahamu gbà Ọlọrun gbọ́, a si kà a si ododo fun u: a si pè e li ọ̀rẹ́ Ọlọrun. 24 Njẹ ẹnyin ri pe nipa iṣẹ li a ndá enia lare, kì iṣe nipa igbagbọ́ nikan. 25 Gẹgẹ bẹ̃ pẹlu kí a ha dá Rahabu panṣaga lare nipa iṣẹ, nigbati o gbà awọn onṣẹ, ti o si rán wọn jade gba ọ̀na miran? 26 Nitori bi ara li aisi ẹmí ti jẹ́ okú, bẹ̃ gẹgẹ pẹlu ni igbagbọ́ li aisi iṣẹ jẹ́ okú.
James 2
The Sin of Partiality
1 My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism.2 For if a man comes into your assembly with a gold ring and dressed in fine clothes, and there also comes in a poor man in dirty clothes,3 and you pay special attention to the one who is wearing the fine clothes, and say, "You sit here in a good place," and you say to the poor man, "You stand over there, or sit down by my footstool,"4 have you not made distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil motives?5 Listen, my beloved brethren: did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?6 But you have dishonored the poor man. Is it not the rich who oppress you and personally drag you into court?7 Do they not blaspheme the fair name by which you have been called?
8 If, however, you are fulfilling the royal law according to the Scripture, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF," you are doing well.9 But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors.10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.11 For He who said, "DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY," also said, "DO NOT COMMIT MURDER." Now if you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.12 So speak and so act as those who are to be judged by the law of liberty.13 For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.
Faith and Works
14 What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him?15 If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food,16 and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and be filled," and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?17 Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.
18 But someone may well say, "You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works."19 You believe that tGod is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.20 But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless?21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar?22 You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected;23 and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "AND ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS RECKONED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS," and he was called the friend of God.24 You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.25 In the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way?26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
