1 Да не смущается сердце ваше: веруйте в Бога, и в мя веруйте:2 в дому Отца моего обители многи суть: аще ли же ни, рекл бых вам: иду уготовати место вам:3 и аще уготовлю место вам, паки прииду и поиму вы к себе, да идеже есмь аз, и вы будете:4 и аможе аз иду, весте, и путь весте.5 Глагола ему фома: Господи, не вемы, камо идеши: и како можем путь ведети?6 глагола ему Иисус: аз есмь путь и истина и живот: никтоже приидет ко Отцу, токмо мною:7 аще мя бысте знали, и Отца моего знали бысте (убо): и отселе познасте его, и видесте его.8 Глагола ему филипп: Господи, покажи нам Отца, и довлеет нам.9 глагола ему Иисус: толико время с вами есмь, и не познал еси мене, филиппе? видевый мене виде Отца: и како ты глаголеши: покажи нам Отца?10 не веруеши ли, яко аз во Отце, и Отец во мне есть? глаголголы, яже аз глаголю вам, о себе не глаголю: Отец же во мне пребываяй, той творит дела:11 веруйте мне, яко аз во Отце, и Отец во мне: аще ли же ни, за та дела веру имите ми.12 Аминь, аминь глаголю вам: веруяй в мя, дела, яже аз творю, и той сотворит, и болша сих сотворит: яко аз ко Отцу моему гряду:13 и еже аще что просите (от Отца) во имя мое, то сотворю, да прославится Отец в Сыне:14 (и) аще чесо просите во имя мое, аз сотворю.15 Аще любите мя, заповеди моя соблюдите,16 и аз умолю Отца, и иного утешителя даст вам, да будет с вами в век,17 Дух истины, егоже мир не может прияти, яко не видит его, ниже знает его: вы же знаете его, яко в вас пребывает и в вас будет.18 Не оставлю вас сиры: прииду к вам:19 еще мало, и мир ктому не увидит мене: вы же увидите мя, яко аз живу, и вы живи будете:20 в той день уразумеете вы, яко аз во Отце моем, и вы во мне, и аз в вас.21 Имеяй заповеди моя и соблюдаяй их, той есть любяй мя: а любяй мя возлюблен будет Отцем моим, и аз возлюблю его и явлюся ему сам.22 Глагола ему иуда не искариотский: Господи, и что бысть, яко нам хощеши явитися, а не мирови?23 Отвеща Иисус и рече ему: аще кто любит мя, слово мое соблюдет: и Отец мой возлюбит его, и к нему приидема и обитель у него сотворима:24 не любяй мя словес моих не соблюдает: и слово, еже слышасте, несть мое, но пославшаго мя Отца.25 Сия глаголах вам в вас сый:26 утешитель же, Дух святый, егоже послет Отец во имя мое, той вы научит всему и воспомянет вам вся, яже рех вам.27 Мир оставляю вам, мир мой даю вам: не якоже мир дает, аз даю вам. Да не смущается сердце ваше, ни устрашает.28 Слышасте, яко аз рех вам: иду и прииду к вам. Аще бысте любили мя, возрадовалися бысте (убо), яко рех: иду ко Отцу: яко Отец мой болий мене есть.29 И ныне рех вам, прежде даже не будет, да, егда будет, веру имете.30 Ктому не много глаголю с вами: грядет бо сего мира князь и во мне не имать ничесоже.31 Но да разумеет мир, яко люблю Отца, и якоже заповеда мне Отец, тако творю: востаните, идем отсюду.

Jesus’ Parting Words to His Disciples

1 “Do not let your hearts be distressed.s You believe in God;t believe also in me.2 There are many dwelling placest in my Father’s house.s Otherwise, I would have told you, becausests I am going away to make readyt a place for you.t3 And if I go and make readyt a place for you, I will come again and take yout to be with me,t so that where I am you may be too.

4 And you know the way where I am going.”ss
5 Thomas said,t “Lord, we don’t know where you are going. How can we know the way?”6 Jesus replied,t “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.t No one comes to the Father except through me.

7 If you have known me, you will know my Father too.s And from now on you do know him and have seen him.”
8 Philip said,t “Lord, show us the Father, and we will be content.”t9 Jesus replied,t “Have I been with you for so long, and you have not knownt me, Philip? The person who has seen me has seen the Father! How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me?t The words that I say to you, I do not speak on my own initiative,t but the Father residing in me performst his miraculous deeds.ts11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me, but if you do not believe me,t believe because of the miraculous deedsts themselves.12 I tell you the solemn truth,t the person who believes in me will performt the miraculous deedst that I am doing,ts and will performt greater deedsts than these, because I am going to the Father.13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name,t so that the Father may be glorifiedt in the Son.

14 If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

Teaching on the Holy Spirit

15 “If you love me, you will obeyt my commandments.s16 Thent I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocatet to be with you forever –

17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot accept,t because it does not see him or know him. But you know him, because he residest with you and will bes in you.
18 “I will not abandont you as orphans,t I will come to you.s19 In a little whilet the world will not see me any longer, but you will see me; because I live, you will live too.20 You will know at that timets that I am in my Father and you are in me and I am in you.

21 The person who has my commandments and obeyst them is the one who loves me.t The onet who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will revealt myself to him.”
22 “Lord,” Judas (not Judas Iscariot)ts said,t “what has happened that you are going to revealts yourself to us and not to the world?”23 Jesus replied,t “If anyone loves me, he will obeyt my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and take up residence with him.t

24 The person who does not love me does not obeyt my words. And the wordt you hear is not mine, but the Father’s who sent me.
25 “I have spoken these things while stayingt with you.

26 But the Advocate,t the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach yout everything,t and will cause you to remember everythingt I said to you.
27 “Peace I leave with you;s my peace I give to you; I do not give itt to you as the world does.t Do not let your hearts be distressed or lacking in courage.t28 You heard me say to you,t ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be gladt that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am.s29 I have told you now before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe.s30 I will not speak with you much longer,t for the ruler of this world is coming.s He has no power over me,t

31 but I am doing just what the Father commanded me, so that the world may knowt that I love the Father.t Get up, let us go from here.”s
