ยอห์น 14

1 "อย่าให้ใจท่านทั้งหลายวิตกเลย ท่านเชื่อในพระเจ้า จงเชื่อในเราด้วย2 ในพระนิเวศของพระบิดาเรามีคฤหาสน์หลายแห่ง ถ้าไม่มีเราคงได้บอกท่านแล้ว เราไปจัดเตรียมที่ไว้สำหรับท่านทั้งหลาย3 และถ้าเราไปจัดเตรียมที่ไว้สำหรับท่านแล้ว เราจะกลับมาอีกรับท่านไปอยู่กับเรา เพื่อว่าเราอยู่ที่ไหนท่านทั้งหลายจะอยู่ที่นั่นด้วย4 ท่านทราบว่าเราจะไปที่ไหนและท่านก็รู้จักทางนั้น"5 โธมัสทูลพระองค์ว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า พวกข้าพระองค์ไม่ทราบว่าพระองค์จะเสด็จไปที่ไหน พวกข้าพระองค์จะรู้จักทางนั้นได้อย่างไร"6 พระเยซูตรัสกับเขาว่า "เราเป็นทางนั้น เป็นความจริง และเป็นชีวิต ไม่มีผู้ใดมาถึงพระบิดาได้นอกจากมาทางเรา7 ถ้าท่านทั้งหลายรู้จักเราแล้ว ท่านก็จะรู้จักพระบิดาของเราด้วย และตั้งแต่นี้ไปท่านก็รู้จักพระองค์และได้เห็นพระองค์"8 ฟีลิปทูลพระองค์ว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า ขอสำแดงพระบิดาให้ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายเห็นและพวกข้าพระองค์จะพอใจ"9 พระเยซูตรัสกับเขาว่า "ฟีลิปเอ๋ย เราได้อยู่กับท่านนานถึงเพียงนี้ และท่านยังไม่รู้จักเราหรือ ผู้ที่ได้เห็นเราก็ได้เห็นพระบิดา และท่านจะพูดได้อย่างไรว่า `ขอสำแดงพระบิดาให้ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายเห็น'10 ท่านไม่เชื่อหรือว่า เราอยู่ในพระบิดาและพระบิดาทรงอยู่ในเรา คำซึ่งเรากล่าวแก่ท่านทั้งหลายนั้น เรามิได้กล่าวตามใจชอบ แต่พระบิดาผู้ทรงสถิตอยู่ในเราได้ทรงกระทำพระราชกิจของพระองค์11 จงเชื่อเราเถิดว่าเราอยู่ในพระบิดาและพระบิดาทรงอยู่ในเรา หรือมิฉะนั้นก็จงเชื่อเราเพราะกิจการเหล่านั้นเถิด12 เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านทั้งหลายว่า ผู้ที่เชื่อในเราจะกระทำกิจการซึ่งเราได้กระทำนั้นด้วย และเขาจะกระทำกิจการที่ยิ่งใหญ่กว่านั้นอีก เพราะว่าเราจะไปถึงพระบิดาของเรา13 สิ่งใดที่ท่านทั้งหลายจะขอในนามของเรา เราจะกระทำสิ่งนั้น เพื่อว่าพระบิดาจะทรงได้รับเกียรติทางพระบุตร14 ถ้าท่านจะขอสิ่งใดในนามของเรา เราจะกระทำสิ่งนั้น15 ถ้าท่านทั้งหลายรักเรา จงรักษาบัญญัติของเรา16 เราจะทูลขอพระบิดา และพระองค์จะทรงประทานผู้ปลอบประโลมใจอีกผู้หนึ่งให้แก่ท่าน เพื่อพระองค์จะได้อยู่กับท่านตลอดไป17 คือพระวิญญาณแห่งความจริง ผู้ซึ่งโลกรับไว้ไม่ได้ เพราะแลไม่เห็นพระองค์และไม่รู้จักพระองค์ แต่ท่านทั้งหลายรู้จักพระองค์ เพราะพระองค์ทรงสถิตอยู่กับท่านและจะประทับอยู่ในท่าน18 เราจะไม่ละทิ้งท่านทั้งหลายไว้ให้เปล่าเปลี่ยว เราจะมาหาท่าน19 อีกหน่อยหนึ่งโลกก็จะไม่เห็นเราอีกเลย แต่ท่านทั้งหลายจะเห็นเรา เพราะเราเป็นอยู่ ท่านทั้งหลายจะเป็นอยู่ด้วย20 ในวันนั้นท่านทั้งหลายจะรู้ว่า เราอยู่ในพระบิดาของเรา และท่านอยู่ในเรา และเราอยู่ในท่าน21 ผู้ใดที่มีบัญญัติของเราและรักษาบัญญัตินั้น ผู้นั้นแหละเป็นผู้ที่รักเรา และผู้ที่รักเรานั้น พระบิดาของเราจะทรงรักเขา และเราจะรักเขา และจะสำแดงตัวของเราเองให้ปรากฏแก่เขา"22 ยูดาส มิใช่อิสคาริโอท ทูลพระองค์ว่า "พระองค์เจ้าข้า เหตุใดพระองค์จึงจะสำแดงพระองค์แก่พวกข้าพระองค์ และไม่ทรงสำแดงแก่โลก"23 พระเยซูตรัสตอบเขาว่า "ถ้าผู้ใดรักเรา ผู้นั้นจะรักษาคำของเรา และพระบิดาของเราจะทรงรักเขา แล้วพระบิดากับเราจะมาหาเขาและจะอยู่กับเขา24 ผู้ที่ไม่รักเรา ก็ไม่รักษาคำของเรา และคำซึ่งท่านได้ยินนี้ไม่ใช่คำของเรา แต่เป็นของพระบิดาผู้ทรงใช้เรามา25 เราได้กล่าวคำเหล่านี้แก่ท่านทั้งหลายเมื่อเรายังอยู่กับท่าน26 แต่พระองค์ผู้ปลอบประโลมใจนั้นคือพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ ผู้ซึ่งพระบิดาจะทรงใช้มาในนามของเรา พระองค์นั้นจะทรงสอนท่านทั้งหลายทุกสิ่ง และจะให้ท่านระลึกถึงทุกสิ่งที่เราได้กล่าวไว้แก่ท่านแล้ว27 เรามอบสันติสุขไว้ให้แก่ท่านแล้ว สันติสุขของเราที่ให้แก่ท่านนั้น เราให้ท่านไม่เหมือนโลกให้ อย่าให้ใจของท่านวิตกและอย่ากลัวเลย28 ท่านได้ยินเรากล่าวแก่ท่านว่า `เราจะจากไปและจะกลับมาหาท่านอีก' ถ้าท่านรักเรา ท่านก็จะชื่นชมยินดีที่เราว่า `เราจะไปหาพระบิดา' เพราะพระบิดาของเราทรงเป็นใหญ่กว่าเรา29 และบัดนี้เราได้บอกท่านทั้งหลายก่อนที่เหตุการณ์นั้นจะเกิดขึ้น เพื่อว่าเมื่อเหตุการณ์นั้นเกิดขึ้นแล้ว ท่านทั้งหลายจะได้เชื่อ30 แต่นี้ไปเราจะไม่สนทนากับท่านทั้งหลายมากนัก เพราะว่าผู้ครองโลกนี้จะมาและไม่มีสิทธิอำนาจอะไรเหนือเรา31 แต่เราได้กระทำตามที่พระบิดาได้ทรงบัญชาเรา เพื่อโลกจะได้รู้ว่าเรารักพระบิดา จงลุกขึ้น ให้เราทั้งหลายไปกันเถิด"

JOHN 14

Jesus Is the Way //to the Father

1 Jesus said to his disciples, “Don't be worried! Have faith in God and have faith in me.t 2 There are many rooms in my Father's house. I wouldn't tell you this, unless it was true. I am going there to prepare a place for each of you. 3 After I have done this, I will come back and take you with me. Then we will be together.

4 You know the way to where I am going.”

5 Thomas said, “Lord, we don't even know where you are going! How can we know the way?”
6  t “I am the way, the truth, and the life!” Jesus answered. “Without me, no one can go to the Father.

7 If you had really known me, you would have known the Father. But from now on, you do know him, and you have seen him.”

8 Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father. That is all we need.”

9 Jesus replied:
Philip, I have been with you for a long time. Don't you know who I am? If you have seen me, you have seen the Father. How can you ask me to show you the Father?

10 Don't you believe that I am one with the Father and that the Father is one with me? What I say isn't said on my own. The Father who lives in me does these things.
11 Have faith in me when I say that the Father is one with me and that I am one with the Father. Or else have faith in me simply because of the things I do. 12 I tell you for certain that if you have faith in me, you will do the same things I am doing. You will do even greater things, now that I am going back to the Father. 13 Ask me, and I will do whatever you ask. This way the Son will bring honor to the Father.

14 I will do whatever you ask me to do.

The Holy Spirit Is Promised

15  t Jesus said to his disciples:
If you love me, you will do as I command. 16 Then I will ask the Father to send you the Holy Spirit who will helpt you and always be with you.

17 The Spirit will show you what is true. The people of this world cannot accept the Spirit, because they don't see or know him. But you know the Spirit, who is with you and will keep on living in you.
18 I won't leave you like orphans. I will come back to you. 19 In a little while the people of this world won't be able to see me, but you will see me. And because I live, you will live. 20 Then you will know I am one with the Father. You will know you are one with me, and I am one with you.

21 t If you love me, you will do what I have said, and my Father will love you. I will also love you and show you what I am like.

22 The other Judas, not Judas Iscariot, t then spoke up and asked, “Lord, what do you mean by saying that you will show us what you are like, but you will not show the people of this world?”

23 Jesus replied:
If anyone loves me, they will obey me. Then my Father will love them, and we will come to them and live in them.

24 But anyone who doesn't love me, won't obey me. What they have heard me say doesn't really come from me, but from the Father who sent me.
25 I have told you these things while I am still with you.

26 But the Holy Spirit will come and helpt you, because the Father will send the Spirit to take my place. The Spirit will teach you everything and will remind you of what I said while I was with you.

27 I give you peace, the kind of peace only I can give. It isn't like the peace this world can give. So don't be worried or afraid.

28 You have already heard me say I am going and I will also come back to you. If you really love me, you should be glad I am going back to the Father, because he is greater than I am.
29 I am telling you this before I leave, so when it does happen, you will have faith in me. 30 I cannot speak with you much longer, because the ruler of this world is coming. But he has no power over me.

31 I obey my Father, so everyone in the world might know that I love him.
It is time for us to go now.
