Ioan 14

Isus, calea spre Tatăl

1 Să nu vi se tulbure inima! Credeți în Dumnezeu și credeți în Mine!t2 În casa Tatălui Meu sunt multe locuințe. Dacă n-ar fi așa, v-aș fi spus. Eut Mă duc să vă pregătesc un loc.t3 Iar dacă Mă voi duce și vă voi pregăti un loc, Mă voi întoarce și vă voi lua cu Mine, ca acolo unde sunt Eu, să fiți și voi.4 Știți calea spre locul unde Mă duc Eu.t

5 Toma I-a zis:
– Doamne, nu știm unde Te duci; cum putem să știm calea?!

6 Isus i-a răspuns:
– Eu sunt calea, adevărul și viața.t Nimeni nu vine la Tatăl decât prin Mine.7 Dacă M-ați cunoscut pe Mine, Îl veți cunoaște și pe Tatăl Meu.t Și de acum Îl cunoașteți și L-ați văzut.

8 Filip I-a zis:
– Doamne, arată-ni-L pe Tatăl și ne este de ajuns!

9 Isus i-a răspuns:
– De atâta timp sunt cu voi și nu M-ai cunoscut, Filip? Cel ce M-a văzut pe Mine L-a văzut pe Tatăl. Cum de spui: „Arată-ni-L pe Tatăl!“?!10 Nu crezi că Eu sunt în Tatăl și Tatăl este în Mine? Cuvintele pe care vi le spun nu le spun de la Mine, ci Tatăl, Care locuiește în Mine, Își face lucrările Lui.11 Credeți-Mă că Eu sunt în Tatăl și Tatăl în Mine! Dacă nu, credeți măcar datorită lucrărilor înseși!12 Adevărat, adevărat vă spun că cel ce crede în Mine va face și el lucrările pe care le fac Eu, ba încă va face lucrări mai mari decât acestea, pentru că Eu Mă duc la Tatăl;13 și orice veți cere în Numele Meu, voi face, pentru ca Tatăl să fie proslăvit în Fiul.14 Dacă veți cere ceva în Numele Meu, voi face.

Promisiunea Duhului Sfânt

15 Dacă Mă iubiți, veți păzi poruncile Mele.16 Iar Eu Îl voi ruga pe Tatăl și El vă va da un alt Apărătort, Care să fie cu voi în veac, și anume17 Duhul adevărului, pe Care lumea nu-L poate primi, pentru că nici nu-L vede, nici nu-L cunoaște. Voi Îl cunoașteți, pentru că rămâne cu voi și va fit în voi.18 Nu vă voi lăsa orfani; voi veni iarăși la voi.19 Încă puțin, și lumea nu Mă va mai vedea, însă voi Mă veți vedea; pentru că Eu trăiesc, și voi veți trăi.20 În ziua aceea veți cunoaște că Eu sunt în Tatăl Meu, voi în Mine și Eu în voi.21 Cel ce are poruncile Mele și le păzește, acela este cel ce Mă iubește. Și cel ce Mă iubește va fi iubit de Tatăl Meu, iar Eu îl voi iubi și Mă voi arăta lui.

22 Iuda, nu Iscarioteanul, L-a întrebat:
– Doamne, cum se face că urmează să Te arăți nouă și nu lumii?

23 Isus i-a răspuns:
– Dacă Mă iubește cineva, va păzi Cuvântul Meu; și Tatăl Meu îl va iubi, iar Noi vom veni la el și vom locui împreună cu elt.24 Cine nu Mă iubește nu păzește cuvintele Mele; și cuvântul pe care-l auziți nu este al Meu, ci al Tatălui, Care M-a trimis.

25 V-am spus aceste lucruri cât sunt încă cu voi.26 Dar Apărătorul, adică Duhul Sfânt, pe Care Tatăl Îl va trimite în Numele Meu, vă va învăța toate lucrurile și vă va reaminti tot ce v-am spus.27 Vă las pace, vă dau pacea Mea. Nu v-o dau așa cum o dă lumea. Să nu vi se tulbure inima, nici să nu se înspăimânte!

28 Ați auzit că v-am spus: „Mă duc și voi veni iarăși la voi.“ Dacă Mă iubeați, v-ați fi bucurat că Mă duc la Tatăl, pentru că Tatăl este mai mare decât Mine.29 Și v-am spus acum, înainte să se întâmple, pentru ca, atunci când se va întâmpla, să credeți.30 Nu voi mai vorbi mult cu voi, pentru că vine domnitorul lumii acesteia. El nu are nimic în Mine,

31 dar trebuie ca lumea să cunoască că Eu Îl iubesc pe Tatăl și că fac așa cum mi-a poruncit Tatăl.
Ridicați-vă, să plecăm de aici!

JOHN 14

Jesus Is the Way //to the Father

1 Jesus said to his disciples, “Don't be worried! Have faith in God and have faith in me.t 2 There are many rooms in my Father's house. I wouldn't tell you this, unless it was true. I am going there to prepare a place for each of you. 3 After I have done this, I will come back and take you with me. Then we will be together.

4 You know the way to where I am going.”

5 Thomas said, “Lord, we don't even know where you are going! How can we know the way?”
6  t “I am the way, the truth, and the life!” Jesus answered. “Without me, no one can go to the Father.

7 If you had really known me, you would have known the Father. But from now on, you do know him, and you have seen him.”

8 Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father. That is all we need.”

9 Jesus replied:
Philip, I have been with you for a long time. Don't you know who I am? If you have seen me, you have seen the Father. How can you ask me to show you the Father?

10 Don't you believe that I am one with the Father and that the Father is one with me? What I say isn't said on my own. The Father who lives in me does these things.
11 Have faith in me when I say that the Father is one with me and that I am one with the Father. Or else have faith in me simply because of the things I do. 12 I tell you for certain that if you have faith in me, you will do the same things I am doing. You will do even greater things, now that I am going back to the Father. 13 Ask me, and I will do whatever you ask. This way the Son will bring honor to the Father.

14 I will do whatever you ask me to do.

The Holy Spirit Is Promised

15  t Jesus said to his disciples:
If you love me, you will do as I command. 16 Then I will ask the Father to send you the Holy Spirit who will helpt you and always be with you.

17 The Spirit will show you what is true. The people of this world cannot accept the Spirit, because they don't see or know him. But you know the Spirit, who is with you and will keep on living in you.
18 I won't leave you like orphans. I will come back to you. 19 In a little while the people of this world won't be able to see me, but you will see me. And because I live, you will live. 20 Then you will know I am one with the Father. You will know you are one with me, and I am one with you.

21 t If you love me, you will do what I have said, and my Father will love you. I will also love you and show you what I am like.

22 The other Judas, not Judas Iscariot, t then spoke up and asked, “Lord, what do you mean by saying that you will show us what you are like, but you will not show the people of this world?”

23 Jesus replied:
If anyone loves me, they will obey me. Then my Father will love them, and we will come to them and live in them.

24 But anyone who doesn't love me, won't obey me. What they have heard me say doesn't really come from me, but from the Father who sent me.
25 I have told you these things while I am still with you.

26 But the Holy Spirit will come and helpt you, because the Father will send the Spirit to take my place. The Spirit will teach you everything and will remind you of what I said while I was with you.

27 I give you peace, the kind of peace only I can give. It isn't like the peace this world can give. So don't be worried or afraid.

28 You have already heard me say I am going and I will also come back to you. If you really love me, you should be glad I am going back to the Father, because he is greater than I am.
29 I am telling you this before I leave, so when it does happen, you will have faith in me. 30 I cannot speak with you much longer, because the ruler of this world is coming. But he has no power over me.

31 I obey my Father, so everyone in the world might know that I love him.
It is time for us to go now.
