1 Toto mluvil jsem vám, abyste se nezhoršili.2 Vypovědíť vás ze škol, ano přijdeť čas, že všeliký, kdož vás mordovati bude, domnívati se bude, že tím Bohu slouží.3 A toť učiní vám proto, že nepoznali Otce ani mne.4 Ale toto mluvil jsem vám, abyste, když přijde ten čas, rozpomenuli se na to, že jsem já to předpověděl vám. Tohoť jsem vám s počátku nemluvil, neb jsem byl s vámi.5 Nyní pak jdu k tomu, kterýž mne poslal, a žádný z vás neptá se mne: Kam jdeš?6 Ale že jsem vám tyto věci mluvil, zámutek naplnil srdce vaše.7 Já pak pravdu pravím vám, že jest vám užitečné, abych já odšel. Nebo neodejdu-liť, Utěšitel nepřijde k vám; a pakliť odejdu, pošli ho k vám.8 A onť přijda, obviňovati bude svět z hříchu, a z spravedlnosti, a z soudu.9 Z hříchu zajisté, že nevěří ve mne;10 A z spravedlnosti, že jdu k Otci, a již více neuzříte mne;11 Z soudu pak, že Kníže tohoto světa již jest odsouzeno.12 Ještěť bych měl mnoho mluviti vám, ale nemůžete snésti nyní.13 Ale když přijde ten Duch pravdy, uvedeť vás ve všelikou pravdu. Nebo nebude mluviti sám od sebe, ale cožkoli uslyší, toť mluviti bude; ano i budoucí věci zvěstovati bude vám.14 Onť mne oslaví; nebo z mého vezme, a zvěstuje vám.15 Všecko, cožkoli má Otec, mé jest. Protož jsem řekl, že z mého vezme, a zvěstuje vám.16 Maličko, a neuzříte mne, a opět maličko, a uzříte mne; nebo já jdu k Otci.17 I řekli někteří z učedlníků jeho mezi sebou: Co jest to, že praví nám: Maličko, a neuzříte mne, a opět maličko, a uzříte mne, a že já jdu k Otci?18 Protož pravili: Co jest to, že praví: Maličko? Nevíme, co praví.19 I poznal Ježíš, že se ho chtěli otázati. I řekl jim: O tom tížete mezi sebou, že jsem řekl: Maličko, a neuzříte mne, a opět maličko, a uzříte mne?20 Amen, amen pravím vám, že plakati a kvíliti budete vy, ale svět se bude radovati; vy pak se budete rmoutiti, ale zámutek váš obrátíť se v radost.21 Žena, když rodí, zámutek má, nebo přišla hodina její; ale když porodí dítě, již nepamatuje na soužení, pro radost, že se narodil člověk na svět.22 Protož i vy zámutek máte nyní, ale opět uzřím vás, a radovati se bude srdce vaše, a radosti vaší žádný neodejme od vás.23 A v ten den nebudete se mne tázati o ničemž. Amen, amen pravím vám: Že zač byste koli prosili Otce ve jménu mém, dáť vám.24 Až dosavad za nic jste neprosili ve jménu mém. Prostež, a vezmete, aby radost vaše doplněna byla.25 Toto v příslovích mluvil jsem vám; přijdeť hodina, když již ne v příslovích budu mluviti vám, ale zjevně o Otci svém zvěstovati budu vám.26 V ten den ve jménu mém prositi budete, a nepravímť vám, že já budu prositi Otce za vás.27 Nebo sám Otec miluje vás, proto že jste vy mne milovali, a uvěřili, že jsem já od Boha vyšel.28 Vyšelť jsem od Otce, a přišel jsem na svět; a opět opouštím svět, a jdu k Otci.29 Řkou jemu učedlníci jeho: Aj, nyní zjevně mluvíš, a přísloví žádného nepravíš.30 Nyní víme, že víš všecko, a nepotřebuješ, aby se kdo tebe tázal. Skrze to věříme, že jsi od Boha přišel.31 Odpověděl jim Ježíš: Nyní věříte.32 Aj, přijdeť hodina, anobrž již přišla, že se rozprchnete jeden každý k svému, a mne samého necháte. Ale nejsemť sám, nebo Otec se mnou jest.33 Tyto věci mluvil jsem vám, abyste ve mně pokoj měli. Na světě soužení míti budete, ale doufejtež, jáť jsem přemohl svět.

John 16

1 “I have told you all these things so that you will not fall away.ts2 They will put you out oft the synagogue,s yet a timet is coming when the one who kills you will think he is offering service to God.s3 Theyt will do these things because they have not known the Father or me.s

4 But I have told you these thingst so that when their timet comes, you will remember that I told you about them.t
“I did not tell you these things from the beginning because I was with you.s5 But now I am going to the one who sent me,s and not one of you is asking me, ‘Where are you going?’s6 Instead your hearts are filled with sadnesst because I have said these things to you.7 But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I am going away. For if I do not go away, the Advocatet will not come to you, but if I go, I will send him to you.8 And when het comes, he will prove the world wrongt concerning sin andt righteousness andt judgment –9 concerning sin, becauset they do not believe in me;s10 concerning righteousness,t becauset I am going to the Father and you will see me no longer;

11 and concerning judgment,s becauset the ruler of this worlds has been condemned.t
12 “I have many more things to say to you,s but you cannot beart them now.13 But when he,t the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guidet you into all truth.s For he will not speak on his own authority,t but will speak whatever he hears, and will tell yout what is to come.t14 Het will glorify me,t because he will receivet from me what is minet and will tell it to you.t15 Everything that the Father has is mine; that is why I said the Spiritt will receive from me what is minet and will tell it to you.t

16 In a little while yout will see me no longer; again after a little while, yout will see me.”s
17 Then some of his disciples said to one another, “What is the meaning of what he is saying,t ‘In a little while yout will not see me; again after a little while, yout will see me,’ and, ‘because I am going to the Father’?”s

18 So they kept on repeating,t “What is the meaning of what he says,t ‘In a little while’?t We do not understandt what he is talking about.”t
19 Jesus could seets that they wanted to ask him about these things,t sot he said to them, “Are you askingt each other about this – that I said, ‘In a little while yout will not see me; again after a little while, yout will see me’?20 I tell you the solemn truth,t you will weept and wail,t but the world will rejoice; you will be sad,t but your sadness will turn intot joy.21 When a woman gives birth, she has distresss because her timet has come, but when her child is born, she no longer remembers the suffering because of her joy that a human beingt has been born into the world.s22 So also you have sorrowt now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.s23 At that timet you will ask me nothing. I tell you the solemn truth,t whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you.s

24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive it,t so that your joy may be complete.
25 “I have told you these things in obscure figures of speech;t a timet is coming when I will no longer speak to you in obscure figures, but will tell yout plainlyt about the Father.26 At that timet you will ask in my name, and I do not sayt that I will ask the Father on your behalf.27 For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.s

28 I came from the Father and entered into the world, but in turn,t I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.”s
29 His disciples said, “Look, now you are speaking plainlyt and not in obscure figures of speech!ts

30 Now we know that you know everythingt and do not need anyonet to ask you anything.t Because of thist we believe that you have come from God.”
31 Jesus replied,t “Do you now believe?32 Look, a timet is coming – and has come – when you will be scattered, each one to his own home,t and I will be left alone.s Yett I am not alone, because my Fathert is with me.

33 I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble and suffering,t but take couraget – I have conquered the world.”ts
