Ultimi trattenimenti coi discepoli (fine): Gesù ripete la promessa del Consolatore e del proprio ritorno

1 IO vi ho dette queste coset, acciocchè non siate scandalezzatit. 2 Vi sbandiranno dalle sinagoghet; anzi l'ora viene che chiunque vi ucciderà penserà far servigio a Diot. 3 E vi faranno queste cose, perciocchè non hanno conosciuto il Padret, nè me.

4 Ma io vi ho dette queste cose, acciocchè, quando quell'ora sarà venuta, voi vi ricordiate ch'io ve le ho dette; or da principio non vi dissi queste cose, perciocchè io era con voit.
5 Ma ora io me ne vo a colui che mi ha mandato; e niun di voi mi domanda: Ove vai?

6 Anzi, perciocchè io vi ho dette queste cose, la tristizia vi ha ripieno il cuore.
7 Ma pure io vi dico la verità: Egli v'è utile ch'io me ne vada, perciocchè, se io non me ne vo, il Consolatore non verrà a voit; ma se io me ne vo, io ve lo manderòt. 8 E quando esso sarà venuto, convincerà il mondo di peccato, di giustizia e di giudicio. 9 Di peccato, perciocchè non credono in met; 10 di giustiziat, perciocchè io me ne vo al Padre mio, e voi non mi vedrete più;

11 di giudicio, perciocchè il principe di questo mondo è già giudicatot.
12 Io ho ancora cose assai a dirvi, ma voi non le potete ora portaret. 13 Ma, quando colui sarà venuto, cioè lo Spirito di veritàt, egli vi guiderà in ogni veritàt; perciocchè egli non parlerà da sè stesso, ma dirà tutte le cose che avrà udite, e vi annunzierà le cose a venire. 14 Esso mi glorificherà, perciocchè prenderà del mio, e ve l'annunzierà.

15 Tutte le cose che ha il Padre son miet: perciò ho detto ch'egli prenderà del mio, e ve l'annunzierà.

16 Fra poco voi non mi vedretet; e di nuovo, fra poco voi mi vedrete; perciocchè io me ne vo al Padre.
17 Laonde alcuni de'~suoi discepoli dissero gli uni agli altri: Che cosa è questo ch'egli ci dice: Fra poco voi non mi vedrete; e di nuovo: Fra poco mi vedrete? e: Perciocchè io me ne vo al Padre?

18 Dicevano adunque: Che cosa è questo fra poco, ch'egli dice? noi non sappiam ciò ch'egli si dica.
19 Gesù adunque conobbe che lo volevano domandaret, e disse loro: Domandate voi gli uni gli altri di ciò ch'io ho detto: Fra poco voi non mi vedrete? e di nuovo: Fra poco voi mi vedrete? 20 In verità, in verità, io vi dico, che voi piangerete, e farete cordogliot; e il mondo si rallegrerà, e voi sarete contristati; ma la vostra tristizia sarà mutata in letiziat. 21 La donna, quando partorisce, sente dolori, perciocchè il suo termine è venuto; ma, dopo che ha partorito il fanciullino, ella non si ricorda più dell'angoscia, per l'allegrezza che sia nata una creatura umana al mondo. 22 Voi dunque altresì avete ora tristizia, ma io vi vedrò di nuovo, e il vostro cuore si rallegrerà, e niuno vi torrà la vostra letiziat.

23 E in quel giorno voi non mi domanderete di nulla.
In verità, in verità, io vi dico, che tutte le cose che domanderete al Padre, nel nome mio, egli ve le daràt.

24 Fino ad ora voi non avete domandato nulla nel nome mio; domandate e riceverete, acciocchè la vostra letizia sia compiuta.
25 Io vi ho ragionate queste cose in similitudini; ma l'ora viene che io non vi parlerò più in similitudini, ma apertamente vi ragionerò del Padre. 26 In quel giorno voi chiederete nel nome mio; ed io non vi dico ch'io pregherò il Padre per voi. 27 Perciocchè il Padre stesso vi ama; perciocchè voi mi avete amatot, ed avete creduto ch'io son proceduto da Diot.

28 Io son proceduto dal Padre, e son venuto nel mondo; di nuovo io lascio il mondo, e vo al Padre.
29 I suoi discepoli gli dissero: Ecco, tu parli ora apertamente, e non dici alcuna similitudine.

30 Or noi sappiamo che tu sai ogni cosat, e non hai bisogno che alcun ti domandi; perciò crediamo che tu sei proceduto da Diot.
31 Gesù rispose loro: Ora credete voi? 32 Ecco, l'ora viene, e già è venuta, che sarete dispersit, ciascuno in casa sua, e mi lascerete solo; ma io non son solo, perciocchè il Padre è mecot. 33 Io vi ho dette queste cose, acciocchè abbiate pace in met; voi avrete tribolazione nel mondot; ma state di buon cuore, io ho vinto il mondot.

John 16

1 “I have told you all these things so that you will not fall away.ts2 They will put you out oft the synagogue,s yet a timet is coming when the one who kills you will think he is offering service to God.s3 Theyt will do these things because they have not known the Father or me.s

4 But I have told you these thingst so that when their timet comes, you will remember that I told you about them.t
“I did not tell you these things from the beginning because I was with you.s5 But now I am going to the one who sent me,s and not one of you is asking me, ‘Where are you going?’s6 Instead your hearts are filled with sadnesst because I have said these things to you.7 But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I am going away. For if I do not go away, the Advocatet will not come to you, but if I go, I will send him to you.8 And when het comes, he will prove the world wrongt concerning sin andt righteousness andt judgment –9 concerning sin, becauset they do not believe in me;s10 concerning righteousness,t becauset I am going to the Father and you will see me no longer;

11 and concerning judgment,s becauset the ruler of this worlds has been condemned.t
12 “I have many more things to say to you,s but you cannot beart them now.13 But when he,t the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guidet you into all truth.s For he will not speak on his own authority,t but will speak whatever he hears, and will tell yout what is to come.t14 Het will glorify me,t because he will receivet from me what is minet and will tell it to you.t15 Everything that the Father has is mine; that is why I said the Spiritt will receive from me what is minet and will tell it to you.t

16 In a little while yout will see me no longer; again after a little while, yout will see me.”s
17 Then some of his disciples said to one another, “What is the meaning of what he is saying,t ‘In a little while yout will not see me; again after a little while, yout will see me,’ and, ‘because I am going to the Father’?”s

18 So they kept on repeating,t “What is the meaning of what he says,t ‘In a little while’?t We do not understandt what he is talking about.”t
19 Jesus could seets that they wanted to ask him about these things,t sot he said to them, “Are you askingt each other about this – that I said, ‘In a little while yout will not see me; again after a little while, yout will see me’?20 I tell you the solemn truth,t you will weept and wail,t but the world will rejoice; you will be sad,t but your sadness will turn intot joy.21 When a woman gives birth, she has distresss because her timet has come, but when her child is born, she no longer remembers the suffering because of her joy that a human beingt has been born into the world.s22 So also you have sorrowt now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.s23 At that timet you will ask me nothing. I tell you the solemn truth,t whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you.s

24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive it,t so that your joy may be complete.
25 “I have told you these things in obscure figures of speech;t a timet is coming when I will no longer speak to you in obscure figures, but will tell yout plainlyt about the Father.26 At that timet you will ask in my name, and I do not sayt that I will ask the Father on your behalf.27 For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.s

28 I came from the Father and entered into the world, but in turn,t I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.”s
29 His disciples said, “Look, now you are speaking plainlyt and not in obscure figures of speech!ts

30 Now we know that you know everythingt and do not need anyonet to ask you anything.t Because of thist we believe that you have come from God.”
31 Jesus replied,t “Do you now believe?32 Look, a timet is coming – and has come – when you will be scattered, each one to his own home,t and I will be left alone.s Yett I am not alone, because my Fathert is with me.

33 I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble and suffering,t but take couraget – I have conquered the world.”ts
