Jesús ora por sus discípulos

1 Habiendo dicho estas cosas, Jesús miró al cielo y dijo: “Padre, la horat ha llegado. Glorificat a tu Hijo, para que también tu Hijo te glorifique a ti. 2 Pues tú has dado a tu Hijo autoridad sobre todos los hombres, para que dé vida eterna a los que le confiaste.

3 Y la vida eterna consiste en que te conozcan a ti, el único Dios verdadero, y a Jesucristo, a quien tú enviaste.t
4 “Yo te he glorificado aquí en el mundo, pues he terminado lo que me encargaste que hiciera.

5 Ahora pues, Padre, dame en tu presencia la misma gloria que yo tenía contigo desde antes que existiera el mundo.t
6 “A los que del mundo escogiste para confiármelos, les he hecho saber quién eres.t Eran tuyos, y tú me los confiaste y han hecho caso a tu palabra. 7 Ahora saben que todo lo que me confiaste viene de ti,

8 pues les he dado el mensaje que me diste y lo han aceptado. Han comprendido que en verdad he venido de ti, y han creído que tú me enviaste.
9 “Te ruego por ellos. No ruego por los que son del mundo,t sino por los que me confiaste, porque son tuyos.

10 Todo lo mío es tuyo y lo tuyo es mío; y mi gloria se hace visible en ellos.
11 “Yo no voy a seguir en el mundo, pero ellos sí van a seguir en el mundo, mientras que yo voy para estar contigo. Padre santo, cuídalos con el poder de tu nombre, el nombre que me has dado, para que estén completamente unidos, como tú y yo.

12 Cuando estaba con ellos en este mundo, los cuidaba y los protegía con el poder de tu nombre, el nombre que me has dado. Y ninguno de ellos se perdió, sino aquel que ya estaba perdido, para que se cumpliera lo que dice la Escritura.t
13 “Ahora voy a ti; pero digo estas cosas mientras estoy en el mundo, para que ellos se llenen de la misma perfecta alegría que yo tengo.t 14 Yo les he comunicado tu palabra;t pero el mundo los odia porque no son del mundo, como tampoco yo soy del mundo. 15 No te pido que los saques del mundo, sino que los protejas del mal.t 16 Así como yo no soy del mundo, tampoco ellos son del mundo. 17 Conságralost a ti por medio de la verdad: tu palabra es la verdad.t 18 Como me enviaste a mí al mundo, así yo los envío.t

19 Y por causa de ellos me consagro a mí mismo,t para que también ellos sean consagrados por medio de la verdad.
20 “No te ruego solamente por estos, sino también por los que han de creer en mí al oir el mensaje de ellos. 21 Te pido que todos ellos estén unidos; que como tú, Padre, estás en mí y yo en ti, también ellos estén en nosotros, para que el mundo crea que tú me enviaste. 22 Les he dado la misma gloria que tú me diste, para que sean una sola cosa como tú y yo somos una sola cosa: 23 yo en ellos y tú en mí, para que lleguen a ser perfectamente uno y así el mundo sepa que tú me enviaste y que los amas como me amas a mí. 24 Padre, tú me los confiaste, y quiero que estén conmigot donde yo voy a estar, para que vean mi gloria, la gloria que me has dado; porque me has amado desde antes de la creación del mundo. 25 Padre justo, los que son del mundo no te conocen; pero yo te conozco,t y estos también saben que tú me enviaste.

26 Les he dado a conocer quién eres, y seguiré haciéndolo, para que el amor que me tienes esté en ellos, y yo mismo esté en ellos.”t

Jesus Prays for the Father to Glorify Him

1 When Jesus had finished saying these things, he looked upwardts to heavent and said, “Father, the timets has come. Glorify your Son, so that yourst Son may glorify you –2 just as you have given him authority over all humanity,t so that he may give eternal life to everyone you have given him.t3 Now thist is eternal lifes – that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ,t whom you sent.4 I glorified you on earth by completingts the work you gave me to do.t

5 And now, Father, glorify me at your sidet with the glory I had with you before the world was created.ts

Jesus Prays for the Disciples

6 “I have revealedt your name to the ment you gave me out of the world. They belonged to you,t and you gave them to me, and they have obeyedt your word.7 Now they understandt that everythingt you have given me comes from you,8 because I have given them the words you have given me. Theyt acceptedt themt and reallyt understandt that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.9 I am prayingt on behalf of them. I am not prayingt on behalf of the world, but on behalf of those you have given me, because they belong to you.t10 Everythingt I have belongs to you,t and everything you have belongs to me,t and I have been glorified by them.ts11 It am no longer in the world, butt they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them safet in your namet that you have given me, so that they may be one just as we are one.t12 When I was with them I kept them safet and watched over themt in your namet that you have given me. Not onet of them was lost except the one destined for destruction,tst so that the scripture could be fulfilled.s13 But now I am coming to you, and I am saying these things in the world, so they may experiencet my joy completedt in themselves.14 I have given them your word,t and the world has hated them, because they do not belong to the world,t just as I do not belong to the world.t15 I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but that you keep them safet from the evil one.t16 They do not belong to the worldt just as I do not belong to the world.t17 Set them apartts in the truth; your word is truth.18 Just as you sent me into the world, so I sent them into the world.s

19 And I set myself apartts on their behalf,t so that they too may be truly set apart.t

Jesus Prays for Believers Everywhere

20 “I am not prayingt only on their behalf, but also on behalf of those who believet in me through their testimony,t21 that they will all be one, just as you, Father, are in me and I am in you. I prayt that they will be in us, so that the world will believe that you sent me.22 The gloryt you gave to me I have given to them, that they may be one just as we are one –

23 I in them and you in me – that they may be completely one,t so that the world will know that you sent me, and you have loved them just as you have loved me.
24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am,t so that they can see my glory that you gave me because you loved me before the creation of the worldt.25 Righteous Father, even if the world does not know you, I know you, and these ment know that you sent me.

26 I made known your name to them, and I will continue to make it known,t so that the love you have loved me with may be in them, and I may be in them.”
