Preghiera di Gesù per i suoi discepoli

1 QUESTE cose disse Gesù; poi alzò gli occhi al cielo, e disse:
Padre, l'ora è venutat; glorifica il tuo Figliuolot, acciocchè altresì il Figliuolo glorifichi te, 2 secondo che tu gli hai data podestà sopra ogni carnet, acciocchè egli dia vita eterna a tutti coloro che tu gli hai datit. 3 Or questa è la vita eterna, che conoscano tet, che sei il solo vero Iddiot, e Gesù Cristo, che tu hai mandatot. 4 Io ti ho glorificato in terra; io ho adempiuta l'opera che tu mi hai data a faret.

5 Ora dunque, tu, Padre, glorificami appo te stesso, della gloria che io ho avuta appo te, avanti che il mondo fosset.
6 Io ho manifestato il nome tuo agli uomini, i quali tu mi hai dati del mondot; erano tuoi, e tu me li hai dati, ed essi hanno osservata la tua parola. 7 Ora hanno conosciuto che tutte le cose che tu mi hai date son da te.

8 Perciocchè io ho date loro le parole che tu mi hai datet, ed essi le hanno ricevute, ed hanno veramente conosciuto che io son proceduto da te, ed hanno creduto che tu mi hai mandatot.
9 Io prego per loro; io non prego per lo mondot, ma per coloro che tu mi hai dati, perciocchè sono tuoi. 10 E tutte le cose mie sono tue, e le cose tue sono mie; ed io sono in essi glorificato. 11 Ed io non sono più nel mondot, ma costoro son nel mondo, ed io vo a te. Padre santot, conservali nel tuo nomet, essi che tu mi hai dati, acciocchè sieno una stessa cosa come noit.

12 Quand'io era con loro nel mondo, io li conservava nel nome tuo; io ho guardati coloro che tu mi hai datit, e niun di loro è peritot, se non il figliuol della perdizione, acciocchè la scrittura fosse adempiutat.
13 Or al presente io vengo a te, e dico queste cose nel mondo, acciocchè abbiano in loro la mia allegrezza compiuta. 14 Io ho loro data la tua parola, e il mondo li ha odiatit, perciocchè non son del mondo, siccome io non son del mondot. 15 Io non chiedo che tu li tolga dal mondo, ma che tu li guardi dal malignot. 16 Essi non son del mondo, siccome io non son del mondot. 17 Santificali nella tua veritàt; la tua parola è veritàt. 18 Siccome tu mi hai mandato nel mondo, io altresì li ho mandati nel mondot.

19 E per loro santifico me stesso; acciocchè essi ancora sieno santificati in veritàt.
20 Or io non prego sol per costoro, ma ancora per coloro che crederanno in me per la lor parola. 21 Acciocchè tutti sieno una stessa cosat, come tu, o Padre, sei in me, ed io sono in tet; acciocchè essi altresì sieno una stessa cosa in noi; affinchè il mondo creda che tu mi hai mandato. 22 Ed io ho data loro la gloria che tu hai data a me, acciocchè sieno una stessa cosa, siccome noi siamo una stessa cosat.

23 Io sono in loro, e tu sei in me; acciocchè essi sieno compiuti in una stessa cosat, ed acciocchè il mondo conosca che tu mi hai mandatot, e che tu li hai amati, come tu hai amato me.
24 Padre, io voglio che dove son io, sieno ancor meco coloro che tu mi hai datit, acciocchè veggano la mia gloriat, la quale tu mi hai data; perciocchè tu mi hai amato avanti la fondazion del mondo. 25 Padre giusto, il mondo non ti ha conosciuto; ma io ti ho conosciuto, e costoro hanno conosciuto che tu mi hai mandatot. 26 Ed io ho loro fatto conoscere il tuo nomet, e lo farò conoscere ancora, acciocchè l'amore, del quale tu mi hai amato, sia in loro, ed io in loro.

Jesus Prays for the Father to Glorify Him

1 When Jesus had finished saying these things, he looked upwardts to heavent and said, “Father, the timets has come. Glorify your Son, so that yourst Son may glorify you –2 just as you have given him authority over all humanity,t so that he may give eternal life to everyone you have given him.t3 Now thist is eternal lifes – that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ,t whom you sent.4 I glorified you on earth by completingts the work you gave me to do.t

5 And now, Father, glorify me at your sidet with the glory I had with you before the world was created.ts

Jesus Prays for the Disciples

6 “I have revealedt your name to the ment you gave me out of the world. They belonged to you,t and you gave them to me, and they have obeyedt your word.7 Now they understandt that everythingt you have given me comes from you,8 because I have given them the words you have given me. Theyt acceptedt themt and reallyt understandt that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.9 I am prayingt on behalf of them. I am not prayingt on behalf of the world, but on behalf of those you have given me, because they belong to you.t10 Everythingt I have belongs to you,t and everything you have belongs to me,t and I have been glorified by them.ts11 It am no longer in the world, butt they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them safet in your namet that you have given me, so that they may be one just as we are one.t12 When I was with them I kept them safet and watched over themt in your namet that you have given me. Not onet of them was lost except the one destined for destruction,tst so that the scripture could be fulfilled.s13 But now I am coming to you, and I am saying these things in the world, so they may experiencet my joy completedt in themselves.14 I have given them your word,t and the world has hated them, because they do not belong to the world,t just as I do not belong to the world.t15 I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but that you keep them safet from the evil one.t16 They do not belong to the worldt just as I do not belong to the world.t17 Set them apartts in the truth; your word is truth.18 Just as you sent me into the world, so I sent them into the world.s

19 And I set myself apartts on their behalf,t so that they too may be truly set apart.t

Jesus Prays for Believers Everywhere

20 “I am not prayingt only on their behalf, but also on behalf of those who believet in me through their testimony,t21 that they will all be one, just as you, Father, are in me and I am in you. I prayt that they will be in us, so that the world will believe that you sent me.22 The gloryt you gave to me I have given to them, that they may be one just as we are one –

23 I in them and you in me – that they may be completely one,t so that the world will know that you sent me, and you have loved them just as you have loved me.
24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am,t so that they can see my glory that you gave me because you loved me before the creation of the worldt.25 Righteous Father, even if the world does not know you, I know you, and these ment know that you sent me.

26 I made known your name to them, and I will continue to make it known,t so that the love you have loved me with may be in them, and I may be in them.”
