Jesus betet für seine Jünger

1 tNach diesen Worten sah Jesus zum Himmel auf und betete: »Vater, die Zeit ist gekommen! Lass jetzt die Herrlichkeit deines Sohnes erkennbar werden, damit dein Sohn deine Herrlichkeit sichtbar macht.2 tDu hast ihm Macht über die Menschen gegeben, damit er allen ewiges Leben schenkt, die du ihm anvertraut hast.3 tUnd das allein ist ewiges Leben: dich, den einen wahren Gott, zu erkennen, und Jesus Christus, den du gesandt hast.4 tIch habe hier auf der Erde den Menschen gezeigt, wie herrlich du bist. Ich habe deinen Auftrag erfüllt.5 tUnd nun, Vater, gib mir wieder Anteil an der Herrlichkeit, die ich bei dir hatte, bevor die Welt erschaffen wurde.

6 Ich habe den Menschen gezeigt, wer du bist, und zwar allen, die du aus der Welt herausgerufen und mir anvertraut hast. Dir gehörten sie schon immer, und du hast sie mir gegeben. Sie haben sich deine Worte zu Herzen genommen,7 und jetzt wissen sie, dass alles, was ich habe, von dir ist.8 Denn was du mir gesagt hast, habe ich ihnen weitergegeben. Sie haben deine Botschaft angenommen und erkannt, dass ich von dir herkomme; sie glauben daran, dass du mich gesandt hast.

9 tFür sie bitte ich dich jetzt: für die Menschen, die du mir anvertraut hast und die zu dir gehören; nicht für die ganze Welt.10 Denn alles, was ich habe, das gehört dir, und was du hast, das gehört auch mir. An ihnen zeigt sich meine Herrlichkeit.11 tIch verlasse jetzt die Welt und komme zu dir. Sie aber bleiben zurück. Heiliger Vater, erhalte sie in der Gemeinschaft mit dir, damit sie eins werden wie wir.12 tSolange ich bei ihnen war, habe ich sie in der Gemeinschaft mit dirt erhalten, alle, die du mir anvertraut hast. Ich habe sie bewahrt, und keiner von ihnen ist verloren gegangen - außer dem einen, der verloren gehen musste, damit sich die Voraussage der Heiligen Schrift erfüllte.

13 tJetzt komme ich zu dir zurück. Aber dies alles wollte ich noch sagen, solange ich bei ihnen bin, damit meine Freude auch sie ganz erfüllt.14 tIch habe ihnen deine Botschaft weitergegeben, und die Welt hasst sie deswegen, weil sie ebenso wie ich nicht zu ihr gehören.15 tIch bitte dich nicht, sie aus der Welt zu nehmen, aber schütze sie vor der Macht des Bösen!16 Sie gehören ebenso wenig zur Welt wie ich.17 tLass ihnen deine Wahrheit leuchten, damit sie in immer engerer Gemeinschaft mit dir leben! Dein Wort ist die Wahrheit!18 tWie du mich in die Welt gesandt hast, so sende ich sie in die Welt.19 tFür sie gebe ich mein Leben hin, damit ihr Leben ganz dir gehört.t

20 tIch bitte aber nicht nur für sie, sondern für alle, die durch ihre Worte von mir hören werden und an mich glauben.21 tSie alle sollen eins sein, genauso wie du, Vater, mit mir eins bist. So wie du in mir bist und ich in dir bin, sollen auch sie in uns fest miteinander verbunden sein. Dann wird die Welt glauben, dass du mich gesandt hast.22 Deshalb habe ich ihnen auch die Herrlichkeit gegeben, die du mir anvertraut hast, damit sie die gleiche enge Gemeinschaft haben wie wir.23 Ich bleibe in ihnen, und du bleibst in mir. Genau so sollen auch sie ganz eins sein. Und die Welt wird erkennen, dass du mich gesandt hast und dass du meine Jünger liebst, wie du mich liebst.

24 tVater, ich möchte, dass alle, die du mir gegeben hast, bei mir bleiben. Sie sollen an meiner Herrlichkeit teilhaben. Du hast mir die Herrlichkeit gegeben; denn du hast mich geliebt, längst bevor die Welt geschaffen wurde.25 tGuter und treuer Vater! Wenn die Welt dich auch nicht kennt, ich kenne dich, und diese hier haben erkannt, dass du mich gesandt hast.

26 Ich habe ihnen gezeigt, wer du bist. Das werde ich auch weiter tun, damit deine Liebe zu mir auch sie erfüllt, ja, damit ich selbst in ihnen lebe.«

1 These things spake Jesus; and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that the son may glorify thee:2 even as thou gavest him authority over all flesh, that to all whom thou hast given him, he should give eternal life.3 And this is life eternal, that they should know thee the only true God, and him whom thou didst send, even Jesus Christ.4 I glorified thee on the earth, having accomplished the work which thou hast given me to do.5 And now, Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.6 I manifested thy name unto the men whom thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them to me; and they have kept thy word.7 Now they know that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are from thee:8 for the words which thou gavest me I have given unto them; and they received them, and knew of a truth that I came forth from thee, and they believed that thou didst send me.9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for those whom thou hast given me; for they are thine:10 and all things that are mine are thine, and thine are mine: and I am glorified in them.11 And I am no more in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name which thou hast given me, that they may be one, even as we are.12 While I was with them, I kept them in thy name which thou hast given me: and I guarded them, and not one of them perished, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.13 But now I come to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy made full in themselves.14 I have given them thy word; and the world hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them from the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil one.16 They are not of the world even as I am not of the world.17 Sanctify them in the truth: thy word is truth.18 As thou didst send me into the world, even so sent I them into the world.19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.20 Neither for these only do I pray, but for them also that believe on me through their word;21 that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us: that the world may believe that thou didst send me.22 And the glory which thou hast given me I have given unto them; that they may be one, even as we are one;23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that thou didst send me, and lovedst them, even as thou lovedst me.24 Father, I desire that they also whom thou hast given me be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.25 O righteous Father, the world knew thee not, but I knew thee; and these knew that thou didst send me;26 and I made known unto them thy name, and will make it known; that the love wherewith thou lovedst me may be in them, and I in them.
