第17章
1 これらのことを語り終えると、イエスは天を見あげて言われた、「父よ、時がきました。あなたの子があなたの栄光をあらわすように、子の栄光をあらわして下さい。2 あなたは、子に賜わったすべての者に、永遠の命を授けさせるため、万民を支配する権威を子にお与えになったのですから。3 永遠の命とは、唯一の、まことの神でいますあなたと、また、あなたがつかわされたイエス・キリストとを知ることであります。4 わたしは、わたしにさせるためにお授けになったわざをなし遂げて、地上であなたの栄光をあらわしました。5 父よ、世が造られる前に、わたしがみそばで持っていた栄光で、今み前にわたしを輝かせて下さい。6 わたしは、あなたが世から選んでわたしに賜わった人々に、み名をあらわしました。彼らはあなたのものでありましたが、わたしに下さいました。そして、彼らはあなたの言葉を守りました。7 いま彼らは、わたしに賜わったものはすべて、あなたから出たものであることを知りました。8 なぜなら、わたしはあなたからいただいた言葉を彼らに与え、そして彼らはそれを受け、わたしがあなたから出たものであることをほんとうに知り、また、あなたがわたしをつかわされたことを信じるに至ったからです。9 わたしは彼らのためにお願いします。わたしがお願いするのは、この世のためにではなく、あなたがわたしに賜わった者たちのためです。彼らはあなたのものなのです。10 わたしのものは皆あなたのもの、あなたのものはわたしのものです。そして、わたしは彼らによって栄光を受けました。11 わたしはもうこの世にはいなくなりますが、彼らはこの世に残っており、わたしはみもとに参ります。聖なる父よ、わたしに賜わった御名によって彼らを守って下さい。それはわたしたちが一つであるように、彼らも一つになるためであります。12 わたしが彼らと一緒にいた間は、あなたからいただいた御名によって彼らを守り、また保護してまいりました。彼らのうち、だれも滅びず、ただ滅びの子だけが滅びました。それは聖書が成就するためでした。13 今わたしはみもとに参ります。そして世にいる間にこれらのことを語るのは、わたしの喜びが彼らのうちに満ちあふれるためであります。14 わたしは彼らに御言を与えましたが、世は彼らを憎みました。わたしが世のものでないように、彼らも世のものではないからです。15 わたしがお願いするのは、彼らを世から取り去ることではなく、彼らを悪しき者から守って下さることであります。16 わたしが世のものでないように、彼らも世のものではありません。17 真理によって彼らを聖別して下さい。あなたの御言は真理であります。18 あなたがわたしを世につかわされたように、わたしも彼らを世につかわしました。19 また彼らが真理によって聖別されるように、彼らのためわたし自身を聖別いたします。20 わたしは彼らのためばかりではなく、彼らの言葉を聞いてわたしを信じている人々のためにも、お願いいたします。21 父よ、それは、あなたがわたしのうちにおられ、わたしがあなたのうちにいるように、みんなの者が一つとなるためであります。すなわち、彼らをもわたしたちのうちにおらせるためであり、それによって、あなたがわたしをおつかわしになったことを、世が信じるようになるためであります。22 わたしは、あなたからいただいた栄光を彼らにも与えました。それは、わたしたちが一つであるように、彼らも一つになるためであります。23 わたしが彼らにおり、あなたがわたしにいますのは、彼らが完全に一つとなるためであり、また、あなたがわたしをつかわし、わたしを愛されたように、彼らをお愛しになったことを、世が知るためであります。24 父よ、あなたがわたしに賜わった人々が、わたしのいる所に一緒にいるようにして下さい。天地が造られる前からわたしを愛して下さって、わたしに賜わった栄光を、彼らに見させて下さい。25 正しい父よ、この世はあなたを知っていません。しかし、わたしはあなたを知り、また彼らも、あなたがわたしをおつかわしになったことを知っています。26 そしてわたしは彼らに御名を知らせました。またこれからも知らせましょう。それは、あなたがわたしを愛して下さったその愛が彼らのうちにあり、またわたしも彼らのうちにおるためであります」。
John 17
1 These things spake Jesus; and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that the son may glorify thee:2 even as thou gavest him authority over all flesh, that to all whom thou hast given him, he should give eternal life.3 And this is life eternal, that they should know thee the only true God, and him whom thou didst send, even Jesus Christ.4 I glorified thee on the earth, having accomplished the work which thou hast given me to do.5 And now, Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.6 I manifested thy name unto the men whom thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them to me; and they have kept thy word.7 Now they know that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are from thee:8 for the words which thou gavest me I have given unto them; and they received them, and knew of a truth that I came forth from thee, and they believed that thou didst send me.9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for those whom thou hast given me; for they are thine:10 and all things that are mine are thine, and thine are mine: and I am glorified in them.11 And I am no more in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name which thou hast given me, that they may be one, even as we are.12 While I was with them, I kept them in thy name which thou hast given me: and I guarded them, and not one of them perished, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.13 But now I come to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy made full in themselves.14 I have given them thy word; and the world hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them from the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil one.16 They are not of the world even as I am not of the world.17 Sanctify them in the truth: thy word is truth.18 As thou didst send me into the world, even so sent I them into the world.19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.20 Neither for these only do I pray, but for them also that believe on me through their word;21 that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us: that the world may believe that thou didst send me.22 And the glory which thou hast given me I have given unto them; that they may be one, even as we are one;23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that thou didst send me, and lovedst them, even as thou lovedst me.24 Father, I desire that they also whom thou hast given me be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.25 O righteous Father, the world knew thee not, but I knew thee; and these knew that thou didst send me;26 and I made known unto them thy name, and will make it known; that the love wherewith thou lovedst me may be in them, and I in them.
