Isus se roagă Tatălui pentru Sine

1 După ce a spus aceste lucruri, Isus Și-a ridicat ochii spre cer și a zis:
„Tată, a venit ceasul! Proslăvește-Ți Fiul, pentru ca și Fiul să Te proslăvească pe Tine,2 de vreme ce I-ai dat autoritate peste orice făptură, ca să le dea viață veșnică tuturor celor pe care I i-ai dat Tu.3 Și viața veșnică este aceasta: să Te cunoască pe Tine, singurul Dumnezeu adevărat, și pe Isus Cristost, pe Care L-ai trimis Tu.4 Eu Te-am proslăvit pe pământ, terminând lucrarea pe care Mi-ai dat-o s-o fac.5 Acum, proslăvește-Mă Tu, Tată, în prezența Ta, cu slava pe care o aveam în prezența Ta înainte de a fi lumea!

Isus se roagă Tatălui pentru ucenici

6 Le-am făcut cunoscut Numele Tău oamenilor pe care Mi i-ai dat din lume. Erau ai Tăi și Tu Mi i-ai dat, iar ei au păzit Cuvântul Tău.7 Acum au cunoscut că tot ce Mi-ai dat Tu este de la Tine.8 Căci le-am dat cuvintele pe care Mi le-ai dat Tu, iar ei le-au primit și au cunoscut că într-adevăr am ieșit de la Tine și au crezut că Tu M-ai trimis.9 Pentru ei mă rog; nu mă rog pentru lume, ci pentru cei pe care Mi i-ai dat Tu, pentru că sunt ai Tăi.10 Tot ce este al Meu este al Tău și tot ce este al Tău este al Meu. Și Eu am fost proslăvit în ei.11 Eu nu mai sunt în lume, dar ei sunt în lume, iar Eu vin la Tine. Sfinte Tată, păzește-i, în Numele Tău, pe care Mi L-ai dat, pentru ca ei să fie una, așa cum suntem Noi!12 Când eram cu ei, îi păzeam Eu în Numele Tău, pe care Mi L-ai dat. I-am păzit și nici unul din ei n-a pierit, în afară de fiul pierzăriit, ca să se împlinească Scripturat.13 Acum însă, Eu vin la Tine; și spun aceste lucruri pe când sunt încă în lume pentru ca să aibă în ei bucuria mea deplină.14 Eu le-am dat Cuvântul Tău și lumea i-a urât, pentru că ei nu sunt din lume, la fel cum nici Eu nu sunt din lume.15 Nu Te rog să-i iei din lume, ci să-i păzești de cel rău!16 Ei nu sunt din lume, așa cum nici Eu nu sunt din lume.17 Sfințește-it print adevăr! Cuvântul Tău este adevărul.18 Așa cum Tu M-ai trimis pe Mine în lume, tot așa i-am trimis și Eu pe ei în lume.19 Eu Însumi M-am sfințit pentru ei, ca și ei să fie sfințiți prin adevăr.

Isus se roagă pentru toți credincioșii

20 Și mă rog nu numai pentru aceștia, ci și pentru cei ce vor crede în Mine prin cuvântul lor,21 ca toți să fie una, așa cum Tu, Tată, ești în Mine, iar Eu în Tine; mă rog ca și ei să fie în Noi, pentru ca lumea să creadă că Tu M-ai trimis.22 Eu le-am dat slava pe care Mi-ai dat-o Tu, pentru ca ei să fie una, așa cum și Noi suntem una;23 Eu în ei și Tu în Mine – pentru ca ei să fie pe deplin una, astfel încât lumea să cunoască faptul că Tu M-ai trimis și că i-ai iubit așa cum M-ai iubit pe Mine.24 Tată, doresc ca acolo unde sunt Eu, să fie cu Mine și aceia pe care Mi i-ai dat Tu, ca să vadă slava Mea, slavă pe care Mi-ai dat-o Tu, fiindcă Tu M-ai iubit înainte de întemeierea lumii!25 Neprihănitule Tată, lumea nu Te cunoaște, dar Eu Te cunosc și aceștia știu că Tu M-ai trimis.26 Eu le-am făcut cunoscut Numele Tău și li-l voi mai face cunoscut, pentru ca dragostea cu care M-ai iubit să fie în ei și Eu să fiu în ei.“

Jesus Prays

1 After Jesus had finished speaking to his disciples, he looked up toward heaven and prayed:
Father, the time has come for you to bring glory to your Son, in order that he may bring glory to you. 2 And you gave him power over all people, so he would give eternal life to everyone you give him. 3 t Eternal life is to know you, the only true God, and to know Jesus Christ, the one you sent. 4 I have brought glory to you here on earth by doing everything you gave me to do.

5 Now, Father, give me back the glory I had with you before the world was created.
6 You have given me some followers from this world, and I have shown them what you are like. They were yours, but you gave them to me, and they have obeyed you. 7 They know that you gave me everything I have. 8 I told my followers what you told me, and they accepted it. They know I came from you, and they believe you are the one who sent me. 9 I am praying for them, but not for those who belong to this world.t My followers belong to you, and I am praying for them.

10 All I have is yours, and all you have is mine, and they will bring glory to me.
11 Holy Father, I am no longer in the world. I am coming to you, but my followers are still in the world. So keep them safe by the power of the name you have given me. Then they will be one with each other, just as you and I are one.

12 t While I was with them, I kept them safe by the power you have given me. I guarded them, and not one of them was lost, except the one who had to be lost. This happened so that what the Scriptures say would come true.
13 I am on my way to you. But I say these things while I am still in the world, so my followers will have the same complete joy that I do.

14 I have told them your message. But the people of this world hate them, because they don't belong to this world, just as I don't.
15 Father, I don't ask you to take my followers out of the world, but keep them safe from the evil one. 16 They don't belong to this world, and neither do I. 17 Your word is the truth. So let this truth make them completely yours. 18 I am sending them into the world, just as you sent me.

19 I have given myself completely for their sake, so they may belong completely to the truth.
20 I am not praying just for these followers. I am also praying for everyone else who will have faith because of what my followers will say about me.

21 I want all of them to be one with each other, just as I am one with you and you are one with me. I also want them to be one with us. Then the people of this world will believe that you sent me.
22 I have honored my followers in the same way you honored me, in order that they may be one with each other, just as we are one.

23 I am one with them, and you are one with me, so they may become completely one. Then this world's people will know that you sent me. They will know that you love my followers as much as you love me.
24 Father, I want everyone you have given me to be with me, wherever I am. Then they will see the glory you have given me, because you loved me before the world was created. 25 Good Father, the people of this world don't know you. But I know you, and my followers know that you sent me. 26 I told them what you are like, and I will tell them even more. Then the love you have for me will become part of them, and I will be one with them.
