요한복음서 17

예수께서 기도하시다

1  예수께서 이 말씀을 마치시고, 눈을 들어 하늘을 우러러보시고 말씀하셨다. “아버지, 때가 왔습니다. 아버지의 아들을 영광되게 하셔서, 아들이 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하여 주십시오. 2 아버지께서는 아들에게 모든 사람을 다스리는 권세를 주셨습니다. 그것은 아들로 하여금 아버지께서 그에게 주신 모든 t사람에게 영생을 주게 하려는 것입니다. 3 영생은 오직 한 분이신 참 하나님을 알고, 또 아버지께서 보내신 예수 그리스도를 아는 것입니다. 4 나는 아버지께서 내게 하라고 맡기신 일을 완성하여, 땅에서 아버지께 영광을 돌렸습니다. 5 아버지, 창세 전에 내가 아버지와 함께 누리던 그 영광으로, 나를 아버지 앞에서 영광되게 하여 주십시오. 6 나는, 아버지께서 세상에서 택하셔서 내게 주신 사람들에게 아버지의 이름을 드러냈습니다. 그들은 본래 아버지의 사람들인데, 아버지께서 그들을 나에게 주셨습니다. 그들은 아버지의 말씀을 지켰습니다. 7 지금 그들은, 아버지께서 내게 주신 모든 것이, 아버지께로부터 온 것임을 알고 있습니다. 8 나는 아버지께서 내게 주신 말씀을 그들에게 주었습니다. 그들은 그 말씀을 받아들였으며, 내가 아버지께로부터 온 것을 참으로 알았고, 또 아버지께서 나를 보내신 것을 믿었습니다. 9 나는 그들을 위하여 빕니다. 나는 세상을 위하여 비는 것이 아니고, 아버지께서 내게 주신 사람들을 위하여 빕니다. 그들은 모두 아버지의 사람들입니다. 10 나의 것은 모두 아버지의 것이고, 아버지의 것은 모두 나의 것입니다. 나는 그들로 말미암아 영광을 받았습니다. 11 나는 이제 더 이상 세상에 있지 않으나, 그들은 세상에 있습니다. 나는 아버지께로 갑니다. 거룩하신 아버지, 아버지께서 내게 주신 아버지의 이름으로 그들을 지켜주셔서, 우리가 하나인 것 같이, 그들도 하나가 되게 하여 주십시오. 12 내가 그들과 함께 지내는 동안은, 아버지께서 내게 주신 아버지의 이름으로 그들을 지키고 보호하였습니다. 그러므로 그들 가운데서는 한 사람도 잃지 않았습니다. 다만, 멸망의 자식만 잃은 것은 성경 말씀을 이루기 위함이었습니다. 13 이제 나는 아버지께로 갑니다. 내가 세상에서 이것을 아뢰는 것은, 내 기쁨이 그들 t속에 차고 넘치게 하려는 것입니다. 14 나는 그들에게 아버지의 말씀을 주었는데, 세상은 그들을 미워하였습니다. 그것은, 내가 세상에 속하여 있지 않은 것과 같이, 그들도 세상에 속하여 있지 않기 때문입니다. 15 내가 아버지께 비는 것은, 그들을 세상에서 데려 가시는 것이 아니라, t악한 자에게서 그들을 지켜 주시는 것입니다. 16 내가 세상에 속하지 않은 것과 같이, 그들도 세상에 속하지 않았습니다. 17 진리로 그들을 거룩하게 하여 주십시오. 아버지의 말씀은 진리입니다. 18 아버지께서 나를 세상에 보내신 것과 같이, 나도 그들을 세상으로 보냈습니다. 19 그리고 내가 그들을 위하여 나를 거룩하게 하는 것은, 그들도 진리로 거룩하게 하려는 것입니다.” 20 “나는 이 사람들을 위해서만 비는 것이 아니고, 이 사람들의 말을 듣고 나를 믿는 사람들을 위해서도 빕니다. 21 아버지, 아버지께서 내 안에 계시고, 내가 아버지 안에 있는 것과 같이, 그들도 하나가 되어서 우리 안에 있게 하여 주십시오. 그래서 아버지께서 나를 보내셨다는 것을, 세상이 믿게 하여 주십시오. 22 나는 아버지께서 내게 주신 영광을 그들에게 주었습니다. 그것은, 우리가 하나인 것과 같이, 그들도 하나가 되게 하려는 것입니다. 23 내가 그들 안에 있고, 아버지께서 내 안에 계신 것은, 그들이 완전히 하나가 되게 하려는 것입니다. 그것은 또, 아버지께서 나를 보내셨다는 것과, 아버지께서 나를 사랑하신 것과 같이 그들도 사랑하셨다는 것을, 세상이 알게 하려는 것입니다. 24 아버지, 아버지께서 내게 주신 사람들도, 내가 있는 곳에 나와 함께 있게 하여 주시고, 창세 전부터 아버지께서 나를 사랑하셔서 내게 주신 내 영광을, 그들도 보게 하여 주시기를 빕니다. 25 의로우신 아버지, 세상은 아버지를 알지 못하였으나, 나는 아버지를 알았으며, 이 사람들도 아버지께서 나를 보내신 것을 알고 있습니다. 26 나는 이미 그들에게 아버지의 이름을 알렸으며, 앞으로도 알리겠습니다. 그것은, 아버지께서 나를 사랑하신 그 사랑이 그들 안에 있게 하고, 나도 그들 안에 있게 하려는 것입니다.”

JOHN 17

Jesus Prays

1 After Jesus had finished speaking to his disciples, he looked up toward heaven and prayed:
Father, the time has come for you to bring glory to your Son, in order that he may bring glory to you. 2 And you gave him power over all people, so he would give eternal life to everyone you give him. 3 t Eternal life is to know you, the only true God, and to know Jesus Christ, the one you sent. 4 I have brought glory to you here on earth by doing everything you gave me to do.

5 Now, Father, give me back the glory I had with you before the world was created.
6 You have given me some followers from this world, and I have shown them what you are like. They were yours, but you gave them to me, and they have obeyed you. 7 They know that you gave me everything I have. 8 I told my followers what you told me, and they accepted it. They know I came from you, and they believe you are the one who sent me. 9 I am praying for them, but not for those who belong to this world.t My followers belong to you, and I am praying for them.

10 All I have is yours, and all you have is mine, and they will bring glory to me.
11 Holy Father, I am no longer in the world. I am coming to you, but my followers are still in the world. So keep them safe by the power of the name you have given me. Then they will be one with each other, just as you and I are one.

12 t While I was with them, I kept them safe by the power you have given me. I guarded them, and not one of them was lost, except the one who had to be lost. This happened so that what the Scriptures say would come true.
13 I am on my way to you. But I say these things while I am still in the world, so my followers will have the same complete joy that I do.

14 I have told them your message. But the people of this world hate them, because they don't belong to this world, just as I don't.
15 Father, I don't ask you to take my followers out of the world, but keep them safe from the evil one. 16 They don't belong to this world, and neither do I. 17 Your word is the truth. So let this truth make them completely yours. 18 I am sending them into the world, just as you sent me.

19 I have given myself completely for their sake, so they may belong completely to the truth.
20 I am not praying just for these followers. I am also praying for everyone else who will have faith because of what my followers will say about me.

21 I want all of them to be one with each other, just as I am one with you and you are one with me. I also want them to be one with us. Then the people of this world will believe that you sent me.
22 I have honored my followers in the same way you honored me, in order that they may be one with each other, just as we are one.

23 I am one with them, and you are one with me, so they may become completely one. Then this world's people will know that you sent me. They will know that you love my followers as much as you love me.
24 Father, I want everyone you have given me to be with me, wherever I am. Then they will see the glory you have given me, because you loved me before the world was created. 25 Good Father, the people of this world don't know you. But I know you, and my followers know that you sent me. 26 I told them what you are like, and I will tell them even more. Then the love you have for me will become part of them, and I will be one with them.
