János 17

Jézus imádkozik tanítványaiért

1 Ezek után Jézus felnézett az égre, és ezt mondta: „Atyám, eljött az idő! Dicsőítsd meg Fiadat, hogy ő is dicsőséget szerezzen neked!

2 Hatalmat adtál Fiadnak minden ember fölött, hogy örök életet adjon nekik: azoknak, akiket Fiadnak ajándékoztál.

3 Az örök élet pedig az, hogy egyre jobban megismerjenek téged, az egyetlen valóságos Istent, és Jézus Krisztust, akit elküldtél.

4 Én dicsőséget szereztem neked ezen a földön: befejeztem a munkát, amellyel megbíztál.

5 Most pedig, Atyám, kérlek, fogadj vissza dicsőségedbe és jelenlétedbe! Abba a dicsőségbe, amelyben veled együtt laktam, mielőtt még a világ létrejött volna.

6 Atyám, embereket ajándékoztál nekem ebből a világból. A tieid voltak, és nekem adtad őket, én pedig kézzelfogható módon megmutattam nekik, hogy te milyen vagy valójában. Ők azok, akik befogadták beszédedet, és engedelmeskedtek a szavadnak.

7 Ők már tudják, hogy minden, amit nekem adtál, tőled származik.

8 Minden szót, amit tőled hallottam, továbbadtam nekik, ők pedig befogadták tanításodat. Felismerték, elfogadták, és meggyőződtek róla, hogy ezek a tanítások valóban tőled származnak, és azt is, hogy valóban te küldtél engem.

9 Értük imádkozom most, és nem a hitetlenekért. Azokért imádkozom, akiket nekem adtál, mert hozzád tartoznak.

10 Mert ami az enyém, az mind a tiéd, és ami a tiéd, az az enyém. Ezekben az emberekben, és általuk dicsőségem mindenki számára nyilvánvaló lesz.

11 Most már visszatérek hozzád, Atyám! Nem maradok tovább ezen a világon. De ők itt maradnak! Szent Atyám, tartsd meg, őrizd meg, és vezesd őket neved hatalma által, amelyet nekem adtál! Igen, őrizd meg őket biztonságban, hogy ők is eljussanak arra az egységre, amelyben te és én élünk!

12 Amíg velük voltam, megtartottam őket neved hatalma által, amelyet nekem adtál. Megőriztem őket, és nem is veszett el közülük senki más, csak az az egy: a pusztulás fia. Így teljesedett be, amit az Írás róla mondott.

13 Atyám, most hozzád megyek, de ezekért imádkozom, amíg még itt vagyok, ezen a világon. Azért imádkozom, hogy örömöm egészen betöltse őket.

14 Átadtam nekik üzenetedet, Atyám. De a világ gyűlölte őket, mert nem ebből a világból valók, ahogyan én sem tartozom ehhez a világhoz.

15 Nem arra kérlek, hogy vedd ki őket a világból, hanem hogy őrizd meg őket a Gonosztól!

16 Ők nem ehhez a világhoz tartoznak, mint ahogyan én sem.

17 Készítsd fel őket a szolgálatodra, Atyám, a valóság megismerése által! A te beszéded, tanításod, üzeneted, az a valóság.

18 Ahogyan te elküldtél engem erre a világra, ugyanúgy küldöm el én is őket.

19 Elkészítem és odaszánom magam a szolgálatra. Értük teszem ezt, hogy ők is valóban készek legyenek szolgálni téged.

20 Atyám, őértük kérlek téged! De nem csak értük, hanem mindazokért is, akik majd az ő szavukra fognak bennem hinni.

21 Mindannyiukért kérlek: hogy akik hisznek bennem, valamennyien teljes egységben legyenek! Igen, úgy, ahogyan te, Atyám, bennem élsz, és ahogyan én benned élek. Ők is így éljenek mibennünk, teljes egységben, hogy a világ elhiggye, és meggyőződjön róla, hogy valóban te küldtél el engem!

22 Azt a dicsőséget, amelyet tőled kaptam, továbbadtam nekik, hogy ők is olyan egységben éljenek, ahogyan mi egységben élünk.

23 Én bennük élek, és te, Atyám énbennem: hogy ők eljussanak a tökéletes egységre. Akkor ennek láttán majd az egész világ felismeri és elismeri, hogy te küldtél engem, és őket is ugyanúgy szereted, ahogyan engem.

24 Atyám, azt akarom, hogy azok, akiket nekem adtál, ott legyenek velem, ahol én vagyok. Azt akarom, hogy lássák dicsőségemet, amelyet tőled kaptam, mivel te már a világ teremtése előtt szerettél engem.

25 Igazságos Atyám! Ez a világ soha nem ismert meg téged, de én ismerlek, és ezek a tanítványok is felismerték és elfogadták, hogy te küldtél engem.

26 Megmutattam nekik, hogy te valójában milyen vagy, és továbbra is meg fogom mutatni nekik, hogy az a szeretet, amellyel engem szerettél, bennük éljen, és én is őbennük éljek.”

The High Priestly Prayer

1 Jesus spoke these things; and lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, "Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You,2 even as You gave Him authority over all flesh, that to all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life.3 This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.4 I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do.5 Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.

6 "I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.7 Now they have come to know that everything You have given Me is from You;8 for the words which You gave Me I have given to them; and they received them and truly understood that I came forth from You, and they believed that You sent Me.9 I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours;10 and all things that are Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine; and I have been glorified in them.11 I am no longer in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, that they may be one even as We are.12 While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have given Me; and I guarded them and not one of them perished but the son of perdition, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled.

The Disciples in the World

13 But now I come to You; and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made full in themselves.14 I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.15 I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one.16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.17 Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.18 As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.19 For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.

20 "I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word;21 that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.

Their Future Glory

22 The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one;23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.24 Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

25 "O righteous Father, although the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me;26 and I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them."
