Pesta kawin di Kana

1 Dua hari kemudian ada pesta kawin di kota Kana di Galilea, dan ibu Yesus ada di sana. 2 Yesus dengan pengikut-pengikut-Nya diundang juga ke pesta itu. 3 Ketika anggur sudah habis, ibu-Nya berkata kepada Yesus, “Mereka kehabisan anggur.”

4 Yesus menjawab, “Ibu, jangan menyuruh Aku. Belum sampai waktunya Aku menyatakan diri.”

5 Tetapi ibu Yesus berkata kepada pelayan-pelayan, “Lakukan saja apa yang dikatakan-Nya kepadamu.”

6 Di situ ada enam tempayan yang disediakan untuk keperluan pembasuhan menurut adat Yahudi. Tempayan itu masing-masing isinya kira-kira seratus liter. 7 Yesus berkata kepada pelayan-pelayan itu, “Isilah tempayan-tempayan itu dengan air.” Mereka mengisinya sampai penuh. 8 Lalu Yesus berkata kepada mereka, “Sekarang ambil sedikit air itu dan bawalah kepada pemimpin pesta.” Mereka membawa air itu kepada pemimpin pesta, 9 dan ia mencicipi air yang sudah berubah menjadi anggur. (Ia tidak tahu dari mana anggur itu, hanya pelayan-pelayan yang menuang air itu saja yang tahu.) Maka pemimpin pesta itu mendekati pengantin laki-laki, 10 lalu berkata kepadanya, “Biasanya orang menghidangkan anggur yang paling baik lebih dahulu dan kalau para tamu sudah puas minum, barulah anggur yang biasa. Tetapi Saudara menyimpan anggur yang paling baik sampai sekarang!”

11 Itulah keajaiban pertama yang dilakukan Yesus. Ia melakukan itu di Kana di Galilea. Dengan tanda itu Ia menunjukkan keagungan-Nya. Maka pengikut-pengikut-Nya percaya kepada-Nya.

12 Sesudah itu Yesus pergi ke Kapernaum bersama-sama dengan ibu-Nya, saudara-saudara-Nya serta pengikut-pengikut-Nya. Mereka tinggal di sana beberapa hari lamanya. t

Yesus masuk ke Rumah Tuhan

(Mat. 21:12-13; Mrk. 11:15-17; Luk. 19:45-46)

13 Ketika Hari Raya Paskah Yahudi sudah dekat, Yesus pergi ke Yerusalem. t 14 Di Rumah Tuhan di Yerusalem Ia mendapati penjual-penjual sapi, domba, dan burung merpati; juga penukar-penukar uang duduk di situ. 15 Yesus membuat sebuah cambuk dari tali lalu mengusir semua binatang itu, baik domba maupun sapi, dari dalam Rumah Tuhan. Meja-meja para penukar uang dibalikkan-Nya sehingga uang mereka berserakan ke mana-mana. 16 Lalu Ia berkata kepada penjual burung merpati, “Angkat semuanya dari sini. Jangan jadikan Rumah Bapa-Ku tempat berdagang!” 17 Maka pengikut-pengikut-Nya teringat akan ayat Alkitab ini, “Cinta-Ku untuk Rumah-Mu, ya Allah, membakar hati-Ku.” t

18 Para penguasa Yahudi menantang Yesus, kata mereka, “Coba membuat keajaiban sebagai tanda untuk kami bahwa Engkau berhak bertindak seperti ini.”

19 Yesus menjawab, “Runtuhkanlah Rumah ini, dan dalam tiga hari Aku akan membangunnya kembali.” t

20 Lalu mereka berkata, “Empat puluh enam tahun dibutuhkan untuk membangun Rumah Tuhan ini. Dan Engkau mau membangunnya kembali dalam tiga hari?”

21 Tetapi Rumah Tuhan yang dimaksudkan Yesus adalah tubuh-Nya sendiri. 22 Jadi kemudian, sesudah Yesus dibangkitkan dari mati, teringatlah pengikut-pengikut-Nya bahwa hal itu pernah dikatakan-Nya. Maka percayalah mereka kepada apa yang tertulis dalam Alkitab dan kepada apa yang dikatakan oleh Yesus.

Yesus mengenal semua orang

23 Sementara Yesus berada di Yerusalem pada waktu Perayaan Paskah, banyak orang percaya kepada-Nya karena keajaiban-keajaiban yang dibuat-Nya. 24 Tetapi Yesus sendiri tidak percaya mereka, sebab Ia mengenal semua orang. 25 Tidak perlu orang memberi keterangan kepada-Nya tentang siapa pun, sebab Ia sendiri tahu apa yang ada di dalam hati manusia.

John 2

Turning Water into Wine

1 Now on the third day there was a wedding at Canas in Galilee.s Jesus’ mothert was there,2 and Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding.s3 When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no wine left.”ts4 Jesus replied,t “Woman,s why are you saying this to me?t My timets has not yet come.”

5 His mother told the servants, “Whatever he tells you, do it.”t
6 Now there were six stone water jars there for Jewish ceremonial washing,t each holding twenty or thirty gallons.ts7 Jesus told the servants,t “Fill the water jars with water.” So they filled them up to the very top.8 Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the head steward,”t and they did.9 Whent the head steward tasted the water that had been turned to wine, not knowing where it came fromt (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), het called the bridegroom10 and said to him, “Everyonet serves the good wine first, and then the cheapert wine when the guestst are drunk. You have kept the good wine until now!”

11 Jesus did this as the first of his miraculous signs,t in Canas of Galilee. In this way he revealedt his glory, and his disciples believed in him.t

Cleansing the Temple

12 After this he went down to Capernaumss with his mother and brotherss and his disciples, and they stayed there a few days.

13 Now the Jewish feast of Passovert was near, so Jesus went up to Jerusalem.s
14 s He found in the temple courtsts those who were selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers sitting at tables.t15 So he made a whip of cordss and drove them all out of the temple courts,t with the sheep and the oxen. He scattered the coins of the money changerss and overturned their tables.16 To those who sold the doves he said, “Take these things away from here! Do not maket my Father’s house a marketplace!”ts

17 His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zealtfor your house will devour me.”s
18 So then the Jewish leaderst responded,t “What sign can you show us, since you are doing these things?”s19 Jesus replied,t “Destroyt this temple and in three days I will raise it up again.”20 Then the Jewish leaderst said to him, “This temple has been under constructiont for forty-six years,s and are you going to raise it up in three days?”21 But Jesust was speaking about the temple of his body.ts

22 So after he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the scriptures and the sayingt that Jesus had spoken.

Jesus at the Passover Feast

23 Now while Jesust was in Jerusalems at the feast of the Passover, many people believed in his name because they saw the miraculous signs he was doing.s24 But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, because he knew all people.t

25 He did not need anyone to testify about man,t for he knew what was in man.t
