I.— EL LIBRO DE LOS SIGNOS (2—12)
Primer signo (2,1—4,42)
Una boda en Caná de Galilea
1 Tres días después tuvo lugar una boda en Caná de Galileat. La madre de Jesús estaba invitada a la boda, 2 y lo estaban también Jesús y sus discípulos.
3 Se terminó el vino, y la madre de Jesús se lo hizo saber a su hijo:
— No les queda vino.
4 Jesús le respondió:
— ¡Mujer! ¿Qué tiene que ver eso con nosotrost? Mi hora no ha llegado todavía.t
5 Pero ella dijo a los que estaban sirviendo:
— Hagan lo que él les diga.t
6 Había allí seis tinajas de piedra, de las que utilizaban los judíos para sus ritos purificatorios, con una capacidad de entre setenta y cien litros cada una.t
7 Jesús dijo a los que servían:
— Llenen las tinajas de agua. Y las llenaron hasta arriba.
8 Una vez llenas, Jesús les dijo:
— Saquen ahora un poco y llévenselo al organizador del banquete.
Así lo hicieron,
9 y en cuanto el organizador del banquete probó el nuevo vino, sin saber su procedencia (sólo lo sabían los sirvientes que lo habían sacado), llamó al novio y le dijo:
10 — Todo el mundo sirve al principio el vino de mejor calidad, y cuando los invitados han bebido en abundancia, se saca el corriente. Tú, en cambio, has reservado el mejor vino para última hora.
11 Jesús hizo este primer milagrot en Caná de Galilea. Manifestó así su gloria y sus discípulos creyeron en él.t
12 Después de esto, bajó a Cafarnaúnt acompañado por su madre, sus hermanos y sus discípulos. Y permanecieron allí unos cuantos días.Jesús y el Templo

13 Estaba ya próxima la fiesta judía de la Pascuat, y Jesús subió a Jerusalén.t 14 Encontró el Templo lleno de gente que vendía bueyes, ovejas y palomas, y de cambistas de monedast sentados detrás de sus mesas. 15 Hizo entonces un látigo con cuerdas y echó fuera del Templo a todos, junto con sus ovejas y sus bueyes. Tiró también al suelo las monedas de los cambistas y volcó sus mesas.
16 Y a los vendedores de palomas les dijo:
— Quiten eso de ahí. No conviertan en un mercado la casa de mi Padre.
17 Al verlo, sus discípulos se acordaron de aquellas palabras de la Escritura: El celo por tu casa me consumirá.t
18 Los judíost, por su parte, lo increparon diciendo:
— ¿Con qué señal nos demuestras que puedes hacer esto?t
19 Jesús les contestó:
— Destruyan este Templo, y en tres días yo lo levantaré de nuevo.t
20 Los judíos le replicaron:
— Cuarenta y seis años costó construir este Templot, ¿y tú piensas reconstruirlo en tres días?
21 Pero el templo de que hablaba Jesús era su propio cuerpo.
22 Por eso, cuando resucitó, sus discípulos recordaron esto que había dicho, y creyeron en la Escritura y en las palabras que Jesús había pronunciado.tJesús conoce la intimidad de cada uno
23 Mientras Jesús permaneció en Jerusalén durante la fiesta de la Pascua, fueron muchos los que vieron los milagros que hacía, y creyeron en él.t 24 Pero Jesús no las tenía todas consigo, pues los conocía a todos perfectamente.t 25 Como tampoco necesitaba que nadie le informara sobre nadie, conociendo como conocía la intimidad de cada persona.
John 2
Turning Water into Wine
1 Now on the third day there was a wedding at Canas in Galilee.s Jesus’ mothert was there,2 and Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding.s3 When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no wine left.”ts4 Jesus replied,t “Woman,s why are you saying this to me?t My timets has not yet come.”
5 His mother told the servants, “Whatever he tells you, do it.”t
6 Now there were six stone water jars there for Jewish ceremonial washing,t each holding twenty or thirty gallons.ts7 Jesus told the servants,t “Fill the water jars with water.” So they filled them up to the very top.8 Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the head steward,”t and they did.9 Whent the head steward tasted the water that had been turned to wine, not knowing where it came fromt (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), het called the bridegroom10 and said to him, “Everyonet serves the good wine first, and then the cheapert wine when the guestst are drunk. You have kept the good wine until now!”
11 Jesus did this as the first of his miraculous signs,t in Canas of Galilee. In this way he revealedt his glory, and his disciples believed in him.t
Cleansing the Temple
12 After this he went down to Capernaumss with his mother and brotherss and his disciples, and they stayed there a few days.
13 Now the Jewish feast of Passovert was near, so Jesus went up to Jerusalem.s
14 s He found in the temple courtsts those who were selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers sitting at tables.t15 So he made a whip of cordss and drove them all out of the temple courts,t with the sheep and the oxen. He scattered the coins of the money changerss and overturned their tables.16 To those who sold the doves he said, “Take these things away from here! Do not maket my Father’s house a marketplace!”ts
17 His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zealtfor your house will devour me.”s
18 So then the Jewish leaderst responded,t “What sign can you show us, since you are doing these things?”s19 Jesus replied,t “Destroyt this temple and in three days I will raise it up again.”20 Then the Jewish leaderst said to him, “This temple has been under constructiont for forty-six years,s and are you going to raise it up in three days?”21 But Jesust was speaking about the temple of his body.ts
22 So after he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the scriptures and the sayingt that Jesus had spoken.
Jesus at the Passover Feast
23 Now while Jesust was in Jerusalems at the feast of the Passover, many people believed in his name because they saw the miraculous signs he was doing.s24 But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, because he knew all people.t
25 He did not need anyone to testify about man,t for he knew what was in man.t
