Una boda en Caná de Galilea
1 Al tercer día hubo una bodat en Caná, un pueblo de Galilea. La madre de Jesúst estaba allí, 2 y Jesús y sus discípulos también habían sido invitados a la boda.
3 En esto se acabó el vino, y la madre de Jesús le dijo:
–Ya no tienen vino.
4 Jesús le contestó:
–Mujer,t ¿por qué me lo dices a mí? Mi horat aún no ha llegado.
5 Dijo ella a los que estaban sirviendo:
–Haced lo que él os diga.t
6 Había allí seis tinajas de piedra, para el agua que usan los judíos en sus ceremonias de purificación.t En cada tinaja cabían entre cincuenta y setenta litros.t
7 Jesús dijo a los sirvientes:
–Llenad de agua estas tinajas.
Las llenaron hasta arriba,
8 y les dijo:
–Ahora sacad un poco y llevádselo al encargado de la fiesta.
Así lo hicieron, 9 y el encargado de la fiesta probó el agua convertida en vino, sin saber de dónde había salido. Solo lo sabían los sirvientes que habían sacado el agua. Así que el encargado llamó al novio
10 y le dijo:
–Todo el mundo sirve primero el mejor vino, y cuando los invitados ya han bebido bastante, sirve el vino corriente. Pero tú has guardado el mejor hasta ahora.t
11 Esta fue la primera señal milagrosat que hizo Jesús en Caná de Galilea. Con ella mostró su gloria, y sus discípulos creyeron en él.
12 Después de esto se fue a Cafarnaúnt en compañía de su madre, sus hermanost y sus discípulos. Allí se quedaron algunos días.Jesús purifica el templo

13 Como se acercaba la fiesta de la Pascuat de los judíos, Jesús fue a Jerusalén; 14 y encontró en el templo a los vendedores de bueyes, ovejas y palomas, y a los que tenían puestos donde cambiar el dinero.t 15 Al ver aquello, Jesús hizo un látigo con unas cuerdas y los echó a todos del templo, junto con las ovejas y los bueyes. Arrojó al suelo las monedas de los cambistas y les volcó las mesas.
16 A los vendedores de palomas les dijo:
–¡Sacad eso de aquí! ¡No convirtáis en un mercado la casa de mi Padre!
17 Sus discípulos recordaron entonces la Escritura que dice: “Me consumirá el celo por tu casa.”t
18 Los judíos le preguntaron:
–¿Qué prueba nos das de que tienes autoridad para actuar así?
19 Jesús les contestó:
–Destruid este templo y en tres días lo levantaré.t
20 Le dijeron los judíos:
–Cuarenta y seis años tardaron en construir este templot , ¿y tú vas a levantarlo en tres días?
21 Pero el templo al que Jesús se refería era su propio cuerpo.t
22 Por eso, cuando resucitó, sus discípulos se acordaron de lo que había dicho y creyeron en la Escritura y en las palabras de Jesús.Jesús conoce el corazón humano
23 Mientras Jesús estaba en Jerusalén, en la fiesta de la Pascua, muchos creyeron en él al ver las señales milagrosas que hacía. 24 Pero Jesús no confiaba en ellos, porque los conocía a todos. 25 No necesitaba ser informado acerca de nadie, pues él mismo conocía el corazón de cada uno.t
John 2
Turning Water into Wine
1 Now on the third day there was a wedding at Canas in Galilee.s Jesus’ mothert was there,2 and Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding.s3 When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no wine left.”ts4 Jesus replied,t “Woman,s why are you saying this to me?t My timets has not yet come.”
5 His mother told the servants, “Whatever he tells you, do it.”t
6 Now there were six stone water jars there for Jewish ceremonial washing,t each holding twenty or thirty gallons.ts7 Jesus told the servants,t “Fill the water jars with water.” So they filled them up to the very top.8 Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the head steward,”t and they did.9 Whent the head steward tasted the water that had been turned to wine, not knowing where it came fromt (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), het called the bridegroom10 and said to him, “Everyonet serves the good wine first, and then the cheapert wine when the guestst are drunk. You have kept the good wine until now!”
11 Jesus did this as the first of his miraculous signs,t in Canas of Galilee. In this way he revealedt his glory, and his disciples believed in him.t
Cleansing the Temple
12 After this he went down to Capernaumss with his mother and brotherss and his disciples, and they stayed there a few days.
13 Now the Jewish feast of Passovert was near, so Jesus went up to Jerusalem.s
14 s He found in the temple courtsts those who were selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers sitting at tables.t15 So he made a whip of cordss and drove them all out of the temple courts,t with the sheep and the oxen. He scattered the coins of the money changerss and overturned their tables.16 To those who sold the doves he said, “Take these things away from here! Do not maket my Father’s house a marketplace!”ts
17 His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zealtfor your house will devour me.”s
18 So then the Jewish leaderst responded,t “What sign can you show us, since you are doing these things?”s19 Jesus replied,t “Destroyt this temple and in three days I will raise it up again.”20 Then the Jewish leaderst said to him, “This temple has been under constructiont for forty-six years,s and are you going to raise it up in three days?”21 But Jesust was speaking about the temple of his body.ts
22 So after he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the scriptures and the sayingt that Jesus had spoken.
Jesus at the Passover Feast
23 Now while Jesust was in Jerusalems at the feast of the Passover, many people believed in his name because they saw the miraculous signs he was doing.s24 But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, because he knew all people.t
25 He did not need anyone to testify about man,t for he knew what was in man.t
