La boda en Caná

1 Al tercer día hubo una boda en Caná de Galilea. La mamá de Jesús estaba allí.2 También habían invitado a Jesús y a sus seguidores a la boda.

3 Cuando se acabó el vino, la mamá de Jesús le dijo:
—Ya no tienen vino.

4 Jesús le dijo:
—Mamát, ¿yo qué tengo que ver con eso? Todavía no ha llegado mi hora.

5 Ella les dijo a los que estaban sirviendo:
—Hagan todo lo que él les diga.

6 En ese lugar había seis vasijas de piedra y cada una podía contener entre ochenta y ciento veinte litrost de agua. Los judíos las usaban para lavarse en sus ceremonias.

7 Jesús les dijo a los que servían:
—Llenen las vasijas con agua.
Entonces las llenaron hasta el borde.

8 Luego Jesús les dijo:
—Ahora saquen un poco de agua y llévenla al encargado del banquete.
Entonces llevaron el agua al encargado.9 Este probó el agua que se había convertido en vino. Él no sabía de dónde lo habían sacado, pero los siervos sí. Después, el encargado del banquete llamó al novio y

10 le dijo:
—Todo el mundo sirve el mejor vino primero. Cuando los invitados se emborrachan, sirven el más barato, pero tú has guardado el mejor vino hasta ahora.

11 Esta fue la primera de las señales milagrosas que Jesús hizo. Sucedió en Caná de Galilea. Así mostró su grandezat y sus seguidores creyeron en él.

12 Después de esto, Jesús fue con su mamá, sus hermanos y sus seguidores a Capernaúmt y se quedaron allí unos pocos días.

Jesús en el templo

13 Era casi la fecha de la Pascuat judía, así que Jesús se fue a Jerusalén.14 En el área del templot, Jesús encontró a la gente vendiendo terneros, ovejas y palomas y también a los que cambian dinero sentados en sus mesas.15 Entonces Jesús hizo un látigo de cuerdas y echó a todos del área del templo junto con las ovejas y los terneros. Arrojó al suelo las monedas de los que cambian dinero y les volcó sus mesas.

16 A los que estaban vendiendo palomas les dijo:
—¡Sáquenlas de aquí! ¡No hagan de la casa de mi padre una plaza de mercado!

17 Cuando esto sucedió, los seguidores recordaron que estaba escrito:
«La emoción que siento por tu casa
acabará conmigo».t

18 Los judíos le respondieron:
—¿Qué señal milagrosa puedes mostrarnos para probar que tienes derecho de hacer esto?

19 Jesús les contestó:
—Destruyan este templo y lo volveré a construir en tres días.

20 Ellos le dijeron:
—Para construir este templo se demoraron cuarenta y seis años, ¿y tú vas a construirlo en tres días?
21 Con la palabra templo, Jesús se refería a su propio cuerpo.

22 Después de que él fue resucitado de la muerte, sus seguidores recordaron lo que había dicho. Entonces creyeron en las Escriturast y en lo que Jesús dijo.
23 Mientras Jesús estaba en Jerusalén, durante la fiesta de la Pascua, mucha gente creyó en él porque vio las señales milagrosas que hizo.24 Pero Jesús no confiaba en ellos porque sabía lo que estaban pensando.

25 Él no necesitaba que nadie le dijera cómo era la gente porque sabía de antemano lo que todos pensaban.

John 2

Miracle at Cana

1 On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there;2 and both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding.3 When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus *said to Him, "They have no wine."4 And Jesus *said to her, "Woman, what does that have to do with us? My hour has not yet come."5 His mother *said to the servants, "Whatever He says to you, do it."6 Now there were six stone waterpots set there for the Jewish custom of purification, containing twenty or thirty gallons each.7 Jesus *said to them, "Fill the waterpots with water." So they filled them up to the brim.8 And He *said to them, "Draw some out now and take it to the theadwaiter." So they took it to him. 9 When the headwaiter tasted the water which had become wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter *called the bridegroom,10 and *said to him, "Every man serves the good wine first, and when the people have drunk freely, then he serves the poorer wine; but you have kept the good wine until now."11 This beginning of His signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.

12 After this He went down to Capernaum, He and His mother and His brothers and His disciples; and they stayed there a few days.

First Passover-Cleansing the Temple

13 The Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.14 And He found in the temple those who were selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers seated at their tables. 15 And He made a scourge of cords, and drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen; and He poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables;16 and to those who were selling the doves He said, "Take these things away; stop making My Father's house a place of business."17 His disciples remembered that it was written, "ZEAL FOR YOUR HOUSE WILL CONSUME ME."18 The Jews then said to Him, "What sign do You show us as your authority for doing these things?"19 Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."20 The Jews then said, "It took forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?"21 But He was speaking of the temple of His body.22 So when He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He said this; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken.

23 Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name, observing His signs which He was doing.24 But Jesus, on His part, was not entrusting Himself to them, for He knew all men,25 and because He did not need anyone to testify concerning man, for He Himself knew what was in man.
