Yohanes 2

Perkawinan di Kana

1 Dua hari kemudian ada perkawinan di Kana, Galilea. Ibu Yesus menghadiri pesta itu.2 Yesus dan murid-murid-Nya juga diundang ke pesta perkawinan tersebut.3 Saat pesta berlangsung, mereka kekurangan anggur. Ibu Yesus berkata kepada-Nya, "Mereka kehabisan anggur."4 Jawab Yesus kepada ibu-Nya, "Ibu, janganlah engkau mengatakan yang harus Kulakukan. Saat-Ku belum tiba."5 Ibu Yesus berkata kepada pelayan-pelayan, "Lakukanlah apa yang dikatakan Yesus kepadamu!"6 Di situ ada enam tempayan air. Tempayan itu disediakan untuk membasuh sesuai dengan adat Yahudi.t Masing-masing isinya kira-kira 100 liter.7 Yesus berkata kepada pelayan-pelayan itu, "Isilah tempayan-tempayan itu dengan air." Jadi, para pelayan mengisinya sampai penuh.

8 Kemudian Yesus berkata kepada mereka, "Sekarang cedoklah air itu, dan bawalah kepada pemimpin pesta."
Maka mereka pun membawa air itu kepada pemimpin pesta.9 Lalu pemimpin pesta mencicipi air itu, tetapi air itu telah berubah menjadi anggur. Pemimpin pesta tidak tahu dari mana datangnya anggur itu, tetapi pelayan-pelayan yang mencedok air itu mengetahuinya. Kemudian pemimpin pesta memanggil mempelai laki-laki,10 dan berkata kepadanya, "Setiap orang menghidangkan anggur yang lebih baik terlebih dahulu. Sesudah tamu-tamu minum sepuasnya, barulah menghidangkan anggur yang lebih murah, tetapi engkau menyimpan anggur yang baik untuk dihidangkan hingga sekarang."11 Itulah mukjizatt pertama yang dilakukan Yesus. Yesus melakukan mukjizat itu di kota Kana, yang di Galilea. Dengan demikian, Yesus telah menyatakan kemuliaan-Nya. Dan murid-murid-Nya percaya kepada-Nya.12 Sesudah itu Yesus pergi ke Kapernaumt bersama ibu-Nya, saudara-saudara-Nya, dan juga murid-murid-Nya. Mereka tinggal di Kapernaum beberapa hari lamanya.

Yesus Menyucikan Bait

13 Saat itu, hari raya Paskaht orang Yahudi sudah dekat. Jadi, Yesus berangkat ke Yerusalem.14 Di Yerusalem Yesus pergi ke pelataran Bait.t Di pelataran Bait Yesus bertemu dengan pedagang-pedagang lembu, domba, merpati, dan penukar-penukar uang duduk di sana.15 Maka Yesus membuat cambuk dari tali, lalu memaksa mereka itu, domba, dan lembu meninggalkan pelataran. Uang milik penukar-penukar itu diserakkan-Nya ke tanah dan meja-mejanya dibalikkan-Nya.16 Kepada pedagang-pedagang merpati Yesus berkata, "Keluarkan semua dari sini. Janganlah kamu menjadikan rumah Bapa-Ku tempat berjualan."17 Maka teringatlah murid-murid-Nya bahwa ada tertulis,
"Kegairahan akan rumah-Mu membinasakan Aku."
18 Orang Yahudi itu berkata kepada Yesus, "Buktikan bahwa Engkau berhak berbuat demikian! Mukjizatt apakah yang dapat Engkau tunjukkan kepada kami?"19 Jawab Yesus kepada mereka, "Binasakan Bait ini! Aku akan mendirikannya kembali dalam tiga hari."20 Lalu mereka berkata kepada-Nya, "Empat puluh enam tahun lamanya orang membangun Bait ini, dan Engkau akan membangunnya dalam tiga hari?"21 Tetapi yang dimaksudkan Yesus dengan Bait adalah tubuh-Nya sendiri.22 Sesudah Yesus bangkit dari antara orang mati, pengikut-pengikut-Nya teringat bahwa Yesus telah mengatakan hal itu. Maka mereka pun percaya akan Kitab Sucit dan akan perkataan yang telah diucapkan Yesus.23 Yesus berada di Yerusalem selama hari raya Paskah. Banyak orang telah percaya kepada Yesus karena telah melihat mukjizat yang dilakukan-Nya.24 Tetapi Yesus tidak yakin kepada mereka, sebab Ia tahu apa yang telah mereka pikirkan.25 Yesus tidak memerlukan siapa pun untuk memberi tahu kepada-Nya mengenai manusia. Yesus tahu yang ada di dalam hati manusia.

Miracle at Cana

1 On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there;2 and both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding.3 When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus *said to Him, "They have no wine."4 And Jesus *said to her, "Woman, what does that have to do with us? My hour has not yet come."5 His mother *said to the servants, "Whatever He says to you, do it."6 Now there were six stone waterpots set there for the Jewish custom of purification, containing twenty or thirty gallons each.7 Jesus *said to them, "Fill the waterpots with water." So they filled them up to the brim.8 And He *said to them, "Draw some out now and take it to the theadwaiter." So they took it to him. 9 When the headwaiter tasted the water which had become wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter *called the bridegroom,10 and *said to him, "Every man serves the good wine first, and when the people have drunk freely, then he serves the poorer wine; but you have kept the good wine until now."11 This beginning of His signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.

12 After this He went down to Capernaum, He and His mother and His brothers and His disciples; and they stayed there a few days.

First Passover-Cleansing the Temple

13 The Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.14 And He found in the temple those who were selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers seated at their tables. 15 And He made a scourge of cords, and drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen; and He poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables;16 and to those who were selling the doves He said, "Take these things away; stop making My Father's house a place of business."17 His disciples remembered that it was written, "ZEAL FOR YOUR HOUSE WILL CONSUME ME."18 The Jews then said to Him, "What sign do You show us as your authority for doing these things?"19 Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."20 The Jews then said, "It took forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?"21 But He was speaking of the temple of His body.22 So when He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He said this; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken.

23 Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name, observing His signs which He was doing.24 But Jesus, on His part, was not entrusting Himself to them, for He knew all men,25 and because He did not need anyone to testify concerning man, for He Himself knew what was in man.
