1  És harmadnapon menyegző lőn a galileai Kánában; és ott volt a Jézus anyja; 2  És Jézus is meghivaték az ő tanítványaival együtt a menyegzőbe. 3  És elfogyván a bor, a Jézus anyja monda néki: Nincs boruk. 4  Monda néki Jézus: Mi közöm nékem te hozzád, oh asszony? Nem jött még el az én órám. 5  Mond az ő anyja a szolgáknak: Valamit mond néktek, megtegyétek. 6  Vala pedig ott hat kőveder elhelyezve a zsidók tisztálkodási módja szerint, melyek közül egybe-egybe két-három métréta fér vala. 7  Monda nékik Jézus: Töltsétek meg a vedreket vízzel. És megtölték azokat színig. 8  És monda nékik: Most merítsetek, és vigyetek a násznagynak. És vittek. 9  A mint pedig megízlelé a násznagy a borrá lett vizet, és nem tudja vala, honnét van, (de a szolgák tudták, a kik a vizet merítik vala), szólítá a násznagy a vőlegényt, 10  És monda néki: Minden ember a jó bort adja fel először, és mikor megittasodtak, akkor az alábbvalót: te a jó bort ekkorra tartottad. 11  Ezt az első jelt a galileai Kánában tevé Jézus, és megmutatá az ő dicsőségét; és hivének benne az ő tanítványai.

12  Azután leméne Kapernaumba, ő és az ő anyja és a testvérei és tanítványai; és ott maradának néhány napig,

13  Mert közel vala a zsidók husvétja, és felméne Jézus Jeruzsálembe. 14  És ott találá a templomban az ökrök, juhok és galambok árúsait és a pénzváltókat, a mint ülnek vala: 15  És kötélből ostort csinálván, kiűzé mindnyájokat a templomból, az ökröket is a juhokat is; és a pénzváltók pénzét kitölté, az asztalokat pedig feldönté; 16  És a galambárúsoknak monda: Hordjátok el ezeket innen; ne tegyétek az én Atyámnak házát kalmárság házává. 17  Megemlékezének pedig az ő tanítványai, hogy meg van írva: A te házadhoz való féltő szeretet emészt engem.

18  Felelének azért a zsidók és mondának néki: Micsoda jelt mutatsz nékünk, hogy ezeket cselekszed? 19  Felele Jézus és monda nékik: Rontsátok le a templomot, és három nap alatt megépítem azt. 20  Mondának azért a zsidók: Negyvenhat esztendeig épült ez a templom, és te három nap alatt megépíted azt? 21  Ű pedig az ő testének templomáról szól vala. 22  Mikor azért feltámadt a halálból, megemlékezének az ő tanítványai, hogy ezt mondta; és hivének az írásnak, és a beszédnek, a melyet Jézus mondott vala.

23  A mint pedig Jeruzsálemben vala husvétkor az ünnepen, sokan hivének az ő nevében, látván az ő jeleit, a melyeket cselekszik vala. 24  Maga azonban Jézus nem bízza vala magát reájok, a miatt, hogy ő ismeré mindnyájokat, 25  És mivelhogy nem szorult rá, hogy valaki bizonyságot tegyen az emberről; mert magától is tudta, mi volt az emberben.

John 2

Turning Water into Wine

1 Now on the third day there was a wedding at Canas in Galilee.s Jesus’ mothert was there,2 and Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding.s3 When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no wine left.”ts4 Jesus replied,t “Woman,s why are you saying this to me?t My timets has not yet come.”

5 His mother told the servants, “Whatever he tells you, do it.”t
6 Now there were six stone water jars there for Jewish ceremonial washing,t each holding twenty or thirty gallons.ts7 Jesus told the servants,t “Fill the water jars with water.” So they filled them up to the very top.8 Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the head steward,”t and they did.9 Whent the head steward tasted the water that had been turned to wine, not knowing where it came fromt (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), het called the bridegroom10 and said to him, “Everyonet serves the good wine first, and then the cheapert wine when the guestst are drunk. You have kept the good wine until now!”

11 Jesus did this as the first of his miraculous signs,t in Canas of Galilee. In this way he revealedt his glory, and his disciples believed in him.t

Cleansing the Temple

12 After this he went down to Capernaumss with his mother and brotherss and his disciples, and they stayed there a few days.

13 Now the Jewish feast of Passovert was near, so Jesus went up to Jerusalem.s
14 s He found in the temple courtsts those who were selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers sitting at tables.t15 So he made a whip of cordss and drove them all out of the temple courts,t with the sheep and the oxen. He scattered the coins of the money changerss and overturned their tables.16 To those who sold the doves he said, “Take these things away from here! Do not maket my Father’s house a marketplace!”ts

17 His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zealtfor your house will devour me.”s
18 So then the Jewish leaderst responded,t “What sign can you show us, since you are doing these things?”s19 Jesus replied,t “Destroyt this temple and in three days I will raise it up again.”20 Then the Jewish leaderst said to him, “This temple has been under constructiont for forty-six years,s and are you going to raise it up in three days?”21 But Jesust was speaking about the temple of his body.ts

22 So after he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the scriptures and the sayingt that Jesus had spoken.

Jesus at the Passover Feast

23 Now while Jesust was in Jerusalems at the feast of the Passover, many people believed in his name because they saw the miraculous signs he was doing.s24 But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, because he knew all people.t

25 He did not need anyone to testify about man,t for he knew what was in man.t
