ヨハネによる福音書 21

二一

1 　このことがあってから、ガリラヤ湖のほとりで、もう一度、イエスは弟子たちの前に現われました。　その時のいきさつはこうです。
2 　シモン・ペテロ、「ふたご」と呼ばれたトマス、ガリラヤのカナ出身のナタナエル、私の兄弟のヤコブ、それに私と、ほかに二人の弟子がいっしょにいました。
3 　「漁に行くぞ」とシモン・ペテロが言いだしました。
すると、みんな、「それじゃあ、おれたちも」というわけで、そろって出かけました。　小舟に乗り込み、漁が始まりました。　ところが、一晩中かかっても、雑魚一匹とれません。　4 もう夜明けというころ、だれかが岸辺に立っているのが見えました。　ぼんやりかすんでいるので、だれかは、ちょっとわかりません。
5 　「おーい。　魚はとれたかーい。」その人が声をかけてきました。
「いやー、全然だめだよー。」
6 　「では、舟の右側に網を下ろしてごらんなさい。　きっと、たくさんとれますよ。」さっそく、そのとおりにすると、どうでしょう。　重くて引き上げられないほど、たくさんの魚がかかったのです。
7 　その時、私ははっと気がつき、「おい、あの方は主だぞ！」とペテロに言いました。　それを聞くとペテロは、裸だったので、あわてて上着をはおり、さっと水に飛び込みました。　8 舟に残った私たちは、百メートルほど離れた岸辺まで、魚ではち切れんばかりの網を引いて、そろそろ進みました。　9 着いてみると、炭火がおこしてあります。　その上では魚がいいぐあいに焼けており、パンもあります。
10 　「今とった魚を少し持って来なさい。」　11 こう言われて、シモン・ペテロがまっ先に飛んで行き、網を陸に引き上げました。数えてみると、なんと、大きな魚が百五十三匹......。　しかも、網はどこも破れていません。
12 　「さあ、ここへ来て、朝ごはんにしなさい」とイエスはうながされます。　「ほんとうに主ですか」などとあえて尋ねる者は、一人もいません。　それほどよく、わかっていたのです。　13 イエスはそばに来られ、パンと魚をめいめいに配ってくださいました。
14 　死人の中から復活されたあと、私たちに現われてくださったのは、これで三度目です。
15 　食事がすむと、イエスはシモン・ペテロを見つめておっしゃいました。　「ヨハネの子シモン。　ほかのだれよりもわたしを愛しますか。」
「はい、主よ。　私があなたを愛することは、あなたがご存じです。」
「それでは、わたしの小羊を養いなさい。」
16 　イエスは、くり返しお尋ねになりました。　「ヨハネの子シモン。　ほんとうにわたしを愛していますか。」
「はい、主よ。　私があなたを愛することは、あなたがご存じです。」
「それでは、わたしの羊の世話をしなさい。」
17 　イエスはもう一度、念を押されました。　「ヨハネの子シモン。ほんとうにわたしを愛していますか？」
三度こんな尋ね方をされたので、ペテロは心に痛みを感じながら答えました。　「主よ。　いっさいをご存じなのはあなた様です。　私があなたを愛することは、あなたがご存じです。」
「それでは、わたしの羊を養いなさい。　18 あなたは若い時には、したいことをし、行きたい所に行きました。　だが、年をとると、そうはいかなくなります。　あなたは自分の手を伸ばし、だれかほかの人が、行きたくもない所へあなたを引っ張って行くのです。」　19 こう言われたのには訳がありました。　ペテロがどんな死に方をして、神の栄光を現わすかを、知らせようとなさったのです。　それから、「わたしについて来なさい」と言われました。
20 　ペテロが何げなくふり向くと、イエスが特に目をかけておられた弟子が、ついて来るではありませんか。　あの最後の夕食の時と、イエスに寄りかかって、「主よ。　裏切り者はだれですか」と尋ねた弟子です。
21 　たちまちペテロの好奇心が頭をもたげました。　「主よ。　彼はどうなんです？　どういう死に方をするのですか。」
22 　「もう一度戻って来るまで、彼に生きていてほしいと、わたしが思ったとしても、あなたとはなんの関係もないでしょう。　人のことは気にしないで、ただわたしについて来ればいいのです。」
23 　このことから、その弟子は死なないといううわさが、クリスチャンたちの間に広まりました。　しかし、イエスはそう断言なさったわけではありません。　ただ、「もう一度戻って来るまで、彼に生きていてほしいと、わたしが思ったとしても、あなたとはなんの関係もないでしょう」と言われただけなのです。
24 　その弟子とは、実は私のことです。　私はこれらの出来事を、見たとおり、ここに記録しました。　この記録が正確なことは、私たちみんなが知っています。
25 　イエスのなさったことは、ほかにもたくさんあります。　それをいちいち書き記すとしたら、全くきりがないでしょう。　世界中が本であふれるほど書いても、それでもまだ足りないと思います。

John 21

1 After these things Jesus manifested himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and he manifested himself on this wise.2 There was together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples.3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also come with thee. They went forth, and entered into the boat; and that night they took nothing.4 But when day was now breaking, Jesus stood on the beach: yet the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.5 Jesus therefore saith unto them, Children, have ye aught to eat? They answered him, No.6 And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.7 That disciple therefore whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. So when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his coat about him (for he was naked), and cast himself into the sea.8 But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from the land, but about two hundred cubits off), dragging the net full of fishes.9 So when they got out upon the land, they see a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.10 Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now taken.11 Simon Peter therefore went up, and drew the net to land, full of great fishes, a hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, the net was not rent.12 Jesus saith unto them, Come and break your fast. And none of the disciples durst inquire of him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.13 Jesus cometh, and taketh the bread, and giveth them, and the fish likewise.14 This is now the third time that Jesus was manifested to the disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.15 So when they had broken their fast, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of John, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.16 He saith to him again a second time, Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Tend my sheep.17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.18 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.19 Now this he spake, signifying by what manner of death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.20 Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; who also leaned back on his breast at the supper, and said, Lord, who is he that betrayeth thee?21 Peter therefore seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?22 Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? Follow thou me.23 This saying therefore went forth among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, that he should not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?24 This is the disciple that beareth witness of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his witness is true.25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books that should be written.
