YOHANE 3

Ta Yesu na Nikodema

1 A ku ri ni un'wana wa Vafarisi loyi a va ku i Nikodema; a a ri un'wana wa tindhuna ta Vayuda. 2 Siku rin'wana, ú tile eka Yesu ni vusiku, a fika a ku: “Mufundhisi, ha swi tiva leswaku u mudyondzisi la humaka eka Xikwembu, hikuva a ku na munhu la nga endlaka mahlori lawa u ma endlaka, loko Xikwembu xi nga ri na yena.” 3 Yesu a n'wi hlamula, a ku: “Ndzi tiyisisile ndzi ri ka wena, a ku na munhu la nga vonaka Mfumo wa Xikwembu, loko a nga tlhelanga a tswariwa ra vumbirhi.”t 4 Nikodema a ku ka yena: “Loko munhu a dyuharile, swi nga endlekisa ku yini ku tlhela a tswariwa xana? Xana a nga swi kota ku vuyela endzeni ka mana wa yena, a tlhela a tswariwa ra vumbirhi xana?” 5 Yesu a hlamula, a ku: “Ndzi tiyisisile ndzi ri ka wena, loko munhu a nga tswariwi hi mati ni Moya, a nga ka a nga ngheni eMfun'weni wa Xikwembu. 6 Nyama yi tswala swa nyama; kambe Moya wu tswala swa moya. 7 U nga hlamali loko ndzi te ka wena, swa fanela leswaku mi tlhela mi tswariwa ra vumbirhi.t

8 Moya wu hungela lomu wu rhandzaka kona,t kutani u twa mpfumawulo wa wona, kambe a wu tivi lomu wu humaka kona, ni lomu wu yaka kona. Swi tano ni ka hinkwavo lava tswariweke hi Moya wa Xikwembu.”
9 Nikodema a n'wi hlamula, a ku: “Swilo leswi swi nga endlekisa ku yini xana?” 10 Yesu a n'wi hlamula, a ku: “U mudyondzisi la tivekaka wa Israele, kambe xana timhaka leti a wu ti tivi xana? 11 Ndzi tiyisisile ndzi ri ka wena, hi vulavula hi leswi hi swi tivaka, naswona hi veka vumbhoni bya leswi hi swi voneke; kambe a mi amukeri vumbhoni bya hina. 12 Leswi mi nga pfumeriki loko ndzi mi byela hi swa laha misaveni, xana mi ta pfumerisa ku yini loko ndzi mi byela hi swa le matilweni xana? 13 A ku na munhu loyi a tshamaka a tlhandlukela ematilweni, loko a nga ri loyi a xikeke hi le matilweni, yena N'wana-wa-Munhu.t 14 tKu fana na leswi Muxe a tshamaka a hayeka nyoka emananga, N'wana-wa-Munhu na yena ú ta fanela ku hayekiwa hi mukhuva wolowo,

15 ku endlela leswaku un'wana ni un'wana la pfumelaka eka yena, a kuma vutomi lebyi nga heriki.”
16 Hikuva Xikwembu xi rhandzile misava swonghasi, xi ko xi nyika N'wana wa xona la nga un'we, leswaku un'wana ni un'wana la pfumelaka ka yena, a nga lovi, kambe a va ni vutomi lebyi nga heriki.

17 Xikwembu a xi rhumanga N'wana wa xona emisaveni ku ta avanyisa misava, kambe a ku ri ku endlela leswaku misava yi ta ponisiwa ha yena.
18 Loyi a pfumelaka eka N'wana, a nga avanyisiwi; kambe la nga pfumeriki ú avanyisiwile ni sweswi, hikuva a nga pfumelanga eka N'wana wa Xikwembu loyi a nga un'we eka xona. 19 Ku avanyisiwa ku ta hi mhaka leyi: Hileswaku ku vonakala ku tile emisaveni, kambe vanhu va rhandzile munyama ku tlula ku vonakala, hikuva mintirho ya vona a yi ri leyo biha. 20 Un'wana ni un'wana la endlaka leswo biha, ú venga ku vonakala, kutani a nga ti eku vonakaleni, hi ku chava leswaku mintirho ya yena yi nga ta humela erivaleni.

21 Kambe loyi a hanyaka entiyisweni, wa ta eku vonakaleni, leswaku mintirho ya yena yi ta vonaka yi ri leyi endliweke hi ku yingisa Xikwembu.

Ta Yesu na Yohane Mukhuvuri

24 tEnkarhini wolowo Yohane a a nga si pfaleriwa ekhotsweni.
25 Kutani ku humelela ku kanetana exikarhi ka vadyondzisiwa va Yohane ni Muyuda un'wana, emhakeni ya swa ku basisiwa. 26 Hiloko va ta eka Yohane, va ku ka yena: “Vona Mufundhisi, munhu loyi a wu ri na yena entsungeni wa Yordani, loyi u nga vula vumbhoni ehenhla ka yena, wa karhi wa khuvula na yena, kutani hinkwavo va khitikana va ya eka yena.” 27 Yohane a hlamula, a ku: “Munhu a nga ka a nga kumi xa nchumu, loko a nga nyikiwanga xona hi Tilo. 28 tN'wina hi n'wexe mi timbhoni ta mina leswaku ndzi te: ‘A hi mina Mesiya, kambe ndzi rhumiwile ku n'wi bulela ndlela.’ 29 N'winyi wa mutekiwa, i muteki; nxangwana ya muteki leyi yimaka yi yingisa muteki loyi, yi tsaka swinene loko yi twa rito ra yena; hikokwalaho sweswi ku tsaka ka mina ku hetisekile.

30 Yena ú fanele ku ya a kula, mina ndzi ya ndzi tsongahala.”

John 3

The New Birth

1 Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews;2 this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him."3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."

4 Nicodemus *said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born, can he?"5 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.7 Do not be amazed that I said to you, 'You must be born again.'8 The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit."

9 Nicodemus said to Him, "How can these things be?"10 Jesus answered and said to him, "Are you the teacher of Israel and do not understand these things?11 Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know and testify of what we have seen, and you do not accept our testimony.12 If I told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?13 No one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man.14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up;15 so that whoever tbelieves will in Him have eternal life.

16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.18 He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.19 This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.20 For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.21 But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God."

John's Last Testimony

22 After these things Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judea, and there He was spending time with them and baptizing.23 John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there; and people were coming and were being baptized-24 for John had not yet been thrown into prison.

25 Therefore there arose a discussion on the part of John's disciples with a Jew about purification.26 And they came to John and said to him, "Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold, He is baptizing and all are coming to Him."27 John answered and said, "A man can receive nothing unless it has been given him from heaven.28 You yourselves are my witnesses that I said, 'I am not the Christ,' but, 'I have been sent ahead of Him.'29 He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. So this joy of mine has been made full.30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

31 "He who comes from above is above all, he who is of the earth is from the earth and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.32 What He has seen and heard, of that He testifies; and no one receives His testimony.33 He who has received His testimony has set his seal to this, that God is true.34 For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for He gives the Spirit without measure.35 The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand.36 He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."
