1 و وقتی که میرفت کوری مادرزاد دید.2 وشاگردانش از او سوال کرده، گفتند: «ای استاد گناه که کرد، این شخص یا والدین او که کورزاییده شد؟»3 عیسی جواب داد که «گناه نه این شخص کرد و نه پدر و مادرش، بلکه تا اعمال خدادر وی ظاهر شود.4 مادامی که روز است، مرا بایدبهکارهای فرستنده خود مشغول باشم. شب میآید که در آن هیچکس نمی تواند کاری کند.5 مادامی که در جهان هستم، نور جهانم.»6 این راگفت و آب دهان بر زمین انداخته، از آب گل ساخت و گل را به چشمان کور مالید،7 و بدوگفت: «برو در حوض سیلوحا (که بهمعنی مرسل است ) بشوی.» پس رفته شست و بینا شده، برگشت.8 پس همسایگان و کسانی که او را پیش از آن در حالت کوری دیده بودند، گفتند: «آیا این آن نیست که مینشست و گدایی میکرد؟»9 بعضی گفتند: «همان است.» و بعضی گفتند: «شباهت بدودارد.» او گفت: «من همانم.»10 بدو گفتند: «پس چگونه چشمان تو بازگشت؟»11 او جواب داد: «شخصی که او را عیسی میگویند، گل ساخت وبر چشمان من مالیده، به من گفت به حوض سیلوحا برو و بشوی. آنگاه رفتم و شسته بیناگشتم.»12 به وی گفتند: «آن شخص کجا است؟» گفت: «نمی دانم.»13 پس او را که پیشتر کور بود، نزد فریسیان آوردند.14 و آن روزی که عیسی گل ساخته، چشمان او را باز کرد روز سبت بود.15 آنگاه فریسیان نیز از او سوال کردند که «چگونه بیناشدی؟» بدیشان گفت: «گل به چشمهای من گذارد. پس شستم و بینا شدم.»16 بعضی ازفریسیان گفتند: «آن شخص از جانب خدا نیست، زیرا که سبت را نگاه نمی دارد.» دیگران گفتند: «چگونه شخص گناهکار میتواند مثل این معجزات ظاهر سازد.» و در میان ایشان اختلاف افتاد.17 باز بدان کور گفتند: «تو درباره او چه میگویی که چشمان تو را بینا ساخت؟» گفت: «نبی است.»18 لیکن یهودیان سرگذشت او را باور نکردندکه کور بوده و بینا شده است، تا آنکه پدر و مادرآن بینا شده را طلبیدند.19 و از ایشان سوال کرده، گفتند: «آیا این است پسر شما که میگویید کورمتولد شده؟ پس چگونه الحال بینا گشته است؟»20 پدر و مادر او در جواب ایشان گفتند: «میدانیم که این پسر ما است و کور متولد شده.21 لیکن الحال چطور میبیند، نمی دانیم ونمی دانیم که چشمان او را باز نموده. او بالغ است از وی سوال کنید تا او احوال خود را بیان کند.»22 پدر و مادر او چنین گفتند زیرا که از یهودیان میترسیدند، از آنرو که یهودیان با خود عهد کرده بودند که هرکه اعتراف کند که او مسیح است، ازکنیسه بیرونش کنند.23 و از اینجهت والدین اوگفتند: «او بالغ است از خودش بپرسید.»24 پس آن شخص را که کور بود، باز خوانده، بدو گفتند: «خدا را تمجید کن. ما میدانیم که این شخص گناهکار است.»25 او جواب داد اگرگناهکار است نمی دانم. یک چیز میدانم که کوربودم و الان بینا شدهام.»26 باز بدو گفتند: «با توچه کرد و چگونه چشمهای تو را باز کرد؟»27 ایشان را جواب داد که «الان به شما گفتم. نشنیدید؟ و برای چه باز میخواهید بشنوید؟ آیاشما نیز اراده دارید شاگرد او بشوید؟»28 پس اورا دشنام داده، گفتند: «تو شاگرد او هستی. ماشاگرد موسی میباشیم.29 ما میدانیم که خدا باموسی تکلم کرد. اما این شخص را نمی دانیم ازکجا است.»30 آن مرد جواب داده، بدیشان گفت: «این عجب است که شما نمی دانید از کجا است وحال آنکه چشمهای مرا باز کرد.31 و میدانیم که خدا دعای گناهکاران را نمی شنود؛ و لیکن اگرکسی خداپرست باشد و اراده او را بهجا آرد، او رامی شنود.32 از ابتدای عالم شنیده نشده است که کسی چشمان کور مادرزاد را باز کرده باشد.33 اگر این شخص از خدا نبودی، هیچ کارنتوانستی کرد.»34 در جواب وی گفتند: «تو به کلی با گناه متولد شدهای. آیا تو ما را تعلیم میدهی؟» پس او را بیرون راندند.35 عیسی چون شنید که او را بیرون کردهاند، وی را جسته گفت: «آیا تو به پسر خدا ایمان داری؟»36 او در جواب گفت: «ای آقا کیست تا به او ایمان آورم؟»37 عیسی بدو گفت: «تو نیز او رادیدهای و آنکه با تو تکلم میکند همان است.»38 گفت: «ای خداوند ایمان آوردم.» پس او راپرستش نمود.39 آنگاه عیسی گفت: «من در این جهان بجهت داوری آمدم تا کوران بینا و بینایان، کور شوند.»40 بعضی از فریسیان که با او بودند، چون این کلام را شنیدند گفتند: «آیا ما نیز کورهستیم؟»41 عیسی بدیشان گفت: «اگر کورمی بودید گناهی نمی داشتید و لکن الان میگوییدبینا هستیم. پس گناه شما میماند.

JOHN 9

Jesus //Heals a Man Born Blind

1 As Jesus walked along, he saw a man who had been blind since birth.

2 Jesus' disciples asked, “Teacher, why was this man born blind? Was it because he or his parents sinned?”
3 “No, it wasn't!” Jesus answered. “But because of his blindness, you will see God work a miracle for him. 4 As long as it is day, we must do what the one who sent me wants me to do. When night comes, no one can work.

5 t While I am in the world, I am the light for the world.”
6 After Jesus said this, he spit on the ground. He made some mud and smeared it on the man's eyes.

7 Then he said, “Go wash off the mud in Siloam Pool.” The man went and washed in Siloam, which means “One Who Is Sent.” When he had washed off the mud, he could see.
8 The man's neighbors and the people who had seen him begging wondered if he really could be the same man.

9 Some of them said he was the same beggar, while others said he only looked like him. But he told them, “I am that man.”

10 “Then how can you see?” they asked.

11 He answered, “Someone named Jesus made some mud and smeared it on my eyes. He told me to go and wash it off in Siloam Pool. When I did, I could see.”

12 “Where is he now?” they asked.
“I don't know,” he answered.

The Pharisees Try To Find Out //What Happened

15 They asked him how he was able to see, and he answered, “Jesus made some mud and smeared it on my eyes. Then after I washed it off, I could see.”

16 Some of the Pharisees said, “This man Jesus doesn't come from God. If he did, he would not break the law of the Sabbath.”
Others asked, “How could someone who is a sinner work such a miracle?”t
Since the Pharisees could not agree among themselves,

17 they asked the man, “What do you say about this one who healed your eyes?”
“He is a prophet!” the man told them.
18 But the Jewish leaders would not believe that the man had once been blind. They sent for his parents

19 and asked them, “Is this the son that you said was born blind? How can he now see?”
20 The man's parents answered, “We are certain that he is our son, and we know that he was born blind.

21 But we don't know how he got his sight or who gave it to him. Ask him! He is old enough to speak for himself.”

22-23 The man's parents said this because they were afraid of their leaders. The leaders had already agreed that no one was to have anything to do with anyone who said Jesus was the Messiah.

24 The leaders called the man back and said, “Swear by God to tell the truth! We know that Jesus is a sinner.”

25 The man replied, “I don't know if he is a sinner or not. All I know is that I used to be blind, but now I can see!”

26 “What did he do to you?” they asked. “How did he heal your eyes?”

27 The man answered, “I have already told you once, and you refused to listen. Why do you want me to tell you again? Do you also want to become his disciples?”
28 The leaders insulted the man and said, “You are his follower! We are followers of Moses.

29 We are sure God spoke to Moses, but we don't even know where Jesus comes from.”
30 “How strange!” the man replied. “He healed my eyes, and yet you don't know where he comes from. 31 We know that God listens only to people who love and obey him. God doesn't listen to sinners. 32 And this is the first time in history anyone has ever given sight to someone born blind.

33 Jesus could not do anything unless he came from God.”

34 The leaders told the man, “You have been a sinner since the day you were born! Do you think you can teach us anything?” Then they said, “You can never come back into any of our synagogues!”

35 When Jesus heard what had happened, he went and found the man. Then Jesus asked, “Do you have faith in the Son of Man?”

36 He replied, “Sir, if you will tell me who he is, I will put my faith in him.”

37 “You have already seen him,” Jesus answered, “and right now he is talking with you.”

38 The man said, “Lord, I put my faith in you!” Then he worshiped Jesus.

39 Jesus told him, “I came to judge the people of this world. I am here to give sight to the blind and to make blind everyone who can see.”

40 When the Pharisees heard Jesus say this, they asked, “Are we blind?”
41 Jesus answered, “If you were blind, you would not be guilty. But now that you claim to see, you will keep on being guilty.”
