Beránci mezi vlky

1 Potom Pán určil dalších dvaasedmdesát a vyslal je před sebou po dvou do každého města a místa, kam měl sám přijít. 2 Řekl jim: „Žeň je obrovská, ale dělníků málo. Proto proste Pána žně, ať vypudí dělníky na svou žeň. 3 Jděte. Hle, posílám vás jako beránky mezi vlky. 4 Neberte s sebou měšec ani mošnu ani obuv a s nikým se po cestě nezdravte.

5 Do kteréhokoli domu vejdete, nejdříve řekněte: ‚Pokoj tomuto domu.‘ 6 Bude-li tam přítel pokoje, váš pokoj spočine na něm; a pokud ne, navrátí se k vám. 7 V tom domě zůstávejte a jezte a pijte, co nabízejí – dělník si přece zaslouží svou mzdu. Nepřecházejte z domu do domu.

8 V kterémkoli městě vás přijmou, jezte, co vám nabídnou. 9 Uzdravujte v tom městě nemocné a říkejte jim: ‚Přišlo k vám Boží království.‘ 10 Když ale přijdete do nějakého města a nepřijmou vás, vyjděte na jeho ulice a řekněte: 11 ‚Setřásáme na vás i ten prach z vašeho města, který nám ulpěl na nohou. Vězte ale, že přišlo Boží království!‘ 12 Říkám vám, že v onen den bude lehčeji Sodomě než takovému městu.

13 Běda tobě, Korozaim, běda tobě, Betsaido! Kdyby se zázraky, které se dějí u vás, staly v Týru a Sidonu, dávno by činili pokání v pytlovině a popelu. 14 Týru a Sidonu však bude na soudu lehčeji než vám. 15 A ty, Kafarnaum, které jsi až k nebi vyvýšeno, až do pekla budeš svrženo.

16 Kdo vám naslouchá, naslouchá mně. Kdo vás odmítá, odmítá mě. Kdo odmítá mě, odmítá Toho, který mě poslal.“

Vaše jména jsou v nebesích

17 Když se těch dvaasedmdesát vrátilo, radostně mu říkali: „Pane, i démoni se nám poddávají ve tvém jménu!“

18 Odpověděl jim: „Viděl jsem, jak satan spadl z nebe jako blesk. 19 Hle, uděluji vám moc šlapat po hadech a štírech i po veškeré síle nepřítele a vůbec nic vám neublíží. 20 Neradujte se ale z toho, že se vám poddávají duchové; radujte se, že vaše jména jsou zapsána v nebesích.“

21 V tu chvíli se Ježíš rozveselil v Duchu svatém a řekl: „Chválím tě, Otče, Pane nebe i země, že jsi tyto věci skryl před moudrými a rozumnými a zjevil jsi je nemluvňatům. Jistě, Otče, neboť tak se ti zalíbilo.

22 Všechno je mi dáno od mého Otce a nikdo neví, kdo je Syn, jedině Otec, a kdo je Otec, jedině Syn a ten, komu by ho Syn chtěl zjevit.“

23 V soukromí se pak obrátil k učedníkům a řekl jim: „Blaze očím, které vidí, co vy vidíte. 24 Říkám vám, že mnozí proroci a králové chtěli spatřit, co vy vidíte, ale nespatřili, a slyšet, co slyšíte, ale neslyšeli.“

Kdo je můj bližní?

25 A hle, jeden znalec Zákona vstal a chtěl ho vyzkoušet: „Mistře, co mám dělat, abych se stal dědicem věčného života?“

26 Ježíš mu řekl: „Co je psáno v Zákoně? Jak to tam čteš?“

27 Odpověděl: „‚Miluj Hospodina, svého Boha, celým svým srdcem, celou svou duší, ze vší své síly a celou svou myslí,‘ a ‚Miluj svého bližního jako sám sebe.‘“

28 „Správně jsi odpověděl,“ řekl mu Ježíš. „Dělej to a budeš žít.“

29 On se ale chtěl nějak ospravedlnit, a tak se Ježíše zeptal: „A kdo je můj bližní?“

30 Ježíš mu odpověděl: „Jeden člověk byl na cestě z Jeruzaléma do Jericha přepaden lupiči. Obrali ho, zbili, nechali ho tam ležet polomrtvého a odešli. 31 Náhodou tudy šel jeden kněz; když ho uviděl, obloukem se mu vyhnul. 32 Podobně to bylo s levitou, který se tam objevil; když ho uviděl, obloukem se mu vyhnul. 33 Potom k němu přišel jeden Samaritán, který tudy cestoval; když ho uviděl, byl pohnut soucitem. 34 Přistoupil, ovázal mu rány a polil je olejem a vínem. Naložil ho na svého mezka, dovezl do hostince a postaral se o něj. 35 Druhého dne vytáhl dva denáry a dal je hostinskému se slovy: ‚Postarej se o něj. Cokoli bys vynaložil navíc, to ti zaplatím, až se vrátím.‘

36 Co myslíš – kdo z těch tří byl tomu přepadenému bližním?“

37 „Ten, který mu prokázal milosrdenství,“ odpověděl znalec Zákona. „Jdi a jednej tak i ty,“ řekl mu Ježíš.

Jen jedno je potřeba

38 Cestou přišel do jedné vesnice, kde ho k sobě přijala jistá žena jménem Marta. 39 Její sestra Marie se posadila k Pánovým nohám a poslouchala jeho slova. 40 Marta však byla zaneprázdněna spoustou práce. Nakonec za ním přišla a řekla: „Pane, tebe nezajímá, že má sestra nechala všechnu práci na mně? Řekni jí přece, ať mi pomůže!“

41 Pán jí odpověděl: „Marto, Marto, staráš se a trápíš se mnoha věcmi. 42 Jen jedno je však potřeba. Marie si vybrala správně a to jí nikdo nevezme.“

Luke 10

The Mission of the Seventy-Two

1 After thist the Lord appointed seventy-twos others and sent them on ahead of him two by two into every townt and place where he himself was about to go.2 Het said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore ask the Lord of the harvests to send outt workers into his harvest.3 Go! It am sending you out like lambss surrounded by wolves.s4 Do not carrys a money bag,t a traveler’s bag,t or sandals, and greet no one on the road.t5 Whenevert you enter a house,t first say, ‘May peaces be on this house!’6 And if a peace-loving persont is there, your peace will remain on him, but if not, it will return to you.s7 Stayt in that same house, eating and drinking what they give you,t for the worker deserves his pay.s Do not move around from house to house.8 Whenevert you enter a townt and the peoplet welcome you, eat what is set before you.9 Healts the sick in that townt and say to them, ‘The kingdom of Gods has come upont you!’10 But whenevert you enter a townt and the peoplet do not welcomes you, go into its streetst and say,11 ‘Even the dust of your townt that clings to our feet we wipe offs against you.t Nevertheless know this: The kingdom of God has come.’t

12 I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodoms than for that town!t
13 “Woe to you, Chorazin!s Woe to you, Bethsaida! For ift the miraclest done in you had been done in Tyres and Sidon,ss they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.14 But it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you!

15 And you, Capernaum,ss will you be exalted to heaven?t No, you will be thrown down to Hades!s

16 “The one who listenst to you listens to me,s and the one who rejects you rejects me, and the one who rejects me rejectst the one who sent me.”s
17 Thent the seventy-twoss returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons submit tot us in your name!”t18 Sot he said to them, “I sawt Satan fallt like lightningt from heaven.19 Look, I have given you authority to treadt on snakes and scorpionss and on the full force of the enemy,ts and nothing willt hurt you.

20 Nevertheless, do not rejoice thatt the spirits submit to you, but rejoicet that your names stand writtent in heaven.”
21 On that same occasiont Jesust rejoiceds in the Holy Spirit and said, “I praiset you, Father, Lords of heaven and earth, becauset you have hidden these things from the wises and intelligent, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your gracious will.t

22 All things have been given to me by my Father.s No one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son decidest to reveal him.”
23 Thent Jesust turnedt to hist disciples and said privately, “Blesseds are the eyes that see what you see!

24 For I tell you that many prophets and kings longed to sees what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.”

The Parable of the Good Samaritan

25 Nowt an expert in religious lawt stood up to test Jesus,t saying, “Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”s26 He said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you understand it?”t27 The expertt answered, “Lovetthe Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,s and love your neighbor as yourself.”t

28 Jesust said to him, “You have answered correctly;s do this, and you will live.”
29 But the expert,t wanting to justifyts himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”30 Jesus replied,t “A man was going downs from Jerusalems to Jericho,s and fell into the hands of robbers, who stripped him, beatt him up, and went off, leaving him half dead.s31 Now by chances a priest was going down that road, butt when he saw the injured mant he passed bys on the other side.s32 So too a Levite, when he came up tot the place and saw him,t passed by on the other side.33 Butt a Samaritant who was travelingt came to where the injured mant was, and when he saw him, he felt compassion for him.ts34 Het went up to himt and bandaged his wounds, pouring oils and wine on them. Thent he put him ont his own animal,s brought him to an inn, and took care of him.35 Thet next day he took out two silver coinsts and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take care of him, and whatever else you spend, I will repay you when I come back this way.’t36 Which of these three do you think became a neighbors to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?”

37 The expert in religious lawt said, “The one who showed mercys to him.” Sot Jesus said to him, “Go and dot the same.”

Jesus and Martha

38 Now as they went on their way, Jesust entered a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him as a guest.st39 Shet had a sister named Mary, who satt at the Lord’s feets and listened to what he said.40 But Martha was distracteds with all the preparations she had to make,t sot she came up to him and said, “Lord, don’t you caret that my sister has left me to do all the workt alone? Tellt her to help me.”41 But the Lords answered her,t “Martha, Martha,s you are worried and troubledt about many things,

42 but one things is needed. Mary has chosen the bestt part; it will not be taken away from her.”
