LUCAS 10

Los setenta y dos enviados

(Mt 9,37)

1 Después de esto, el Señor escogió también a otros setenta y dost, y los envió de dos en dos delante de él a todos los pueblos y lugares a donde él pensaba ir.t

2 Les dijo:
— La mies es mucha, pero son pocos los obreros. Por eso, pídanle al dueño de la mies que mande obreros a su mies. 3 ¡Póngase en marcha! Yo los envío como corderos en medio de lobos. 4 No lleven monedero, zurrón, ni calzado; y no se detengan tampoco a saludar a nadie en el caminot. 5 Cuando entren en alguna casa, digan primero: “Paz a esta casa”. 6 Si los que viven allí son gente de paz, la paz del saludo quedará con ellos; si no lo son, la paz se volverá a ustedes. 7 Quédense en la misma casa, comiendo y bebiendo de lo que tengan, porque el que trabaja tiene derecho a su salario. No vayan de casa en casa.t 8 Cuando lleguen a un pueblo donde los reciban con agrado, coman lo que les ofrezcan.t 9 Curen a los enfermos que haya en él y anuncien: “El reino de Dios está cerca de ustedes”.t 10 Pero si entran en un pueblo donde se nieguen a recibirlos, recorran sus calles diciendo: 11 “¡Hasta el polvo de este pueblo, que se nos ha pegado a los pies, nos lo sacudimos contra ustedes! Sin embargo, sepan que el reino de Dios ya está cerca”.t

12 Les digo que, en el día del juicio, los habitantes de Sodomat serán tratados con más clemencia que los de ese pueblo.

Lamento por las ciudades rebeldes

(Mt 10,40; 11,20-24)

14 Por eso, Tiro y Sidón serán tratados en el juicio con más clemencia que ustedes.
15 Y tú, Cafarnaún*, ¿crees que vas a ser encumbrada hasta el cielo? ¡Hasta el abismot, serás precipitada!t

16 El que los escuche a ustedes, es como si me escuchara a mí; el que los rechaze a ustedes, es como si me rechazara a mí; y el que me rechace a mí, es como si rechazara al que me envió.t

Regreso de los setenta y dos enviados

17 Los setenta y dos volvieron llenos de alegría, diciendo:
— ¡Señor, hasta los demonios nos obedecen en tu nombre!

18 Jesús les contestó:
— He visto a Satanás que caía del cielo como un rayo.t 19 Les he dado a ustedes autoridad para que pisoteen las serpientes, los escorpiones y todo el poder del enemigo, sin que nada ni nadie pueda dañarlos.t

20 Pero, aun así, no se alegren tanto de que los espíritus malignost los obedezcan como de que los nombres de ustedes estén escritos en el cielo.

Alegría de Jesús

(Mt 11,25-27; 13,16-17)

21 En aquel mismo momento, el Espíritu Santo llenó de alegría a Jesús, que dijo:
— Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra, te alabo porque has ocultado todo esto a los sabios y entendidos y se lo has revelado a los sencillos. Sí, Padre, así lo has querido tú.t

22 Mi Padre lo ha puesto todo en mis manos y nadie sabe quién es el Hijo, sino el Padre; y nadie sabe quién es el Padre, sino el Hijo y aquellos a quienes el Hijo quiera revelárselo.t

23 Luego se volvió hacia sus discípulos y les dijo aparte:
— ¡Felices los que puedan ver todo lo que ustedes están viendo!

24 Les digo que muchos profetas y reyes quisieron ver lo que ustedes están viendo, y no lo vieron; y oír lo que ustedes están oyendo, y no lo oyeron.

El mandamiento más importante

(Mt 22,35-39; Mc 12,28-31)

25 Por entonces, un doctor de la ley, queriendo poner a prueba a Jesús, le hizo esta pregunta:
— Maestro, ¿qué he de hacer para alcanzar la vida eterna?t

26 Jesús le contestó:
— ¿Qué está escrito en la ley de Moisés? ¿Qué lees allí?

27 Él respondió:
— Amarás al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, con toda tu alma, con todas tus fuerzas y con toda tu inteligencia; y a tu prójimo como a ti mismo.t

28 Jesús le dijo:
— Has respondido correctamente. Haz eso y vivirás.t

Parábola del buen samaritano

29 Pero el maestro de la ley, para justificar su pregunta, insistió:
— ¿Y quién es mi prójimo?

30 Jesús le dijo:
— Un hombre* que bajaba de Jerusalén a Jericót fue asaltado por unos ladrones, que le robaron cuanto llevaba, lo hirieron gravemente y se fueron, dejándolo medio muerto. 31 Casualmente bajaba por aquel mismo camino un sacerdote que vio al herido, pero pasó de largo. 32 Y del mismo modo, un levitat, al llegar a aquel lugar, vio al herido, pero también pasó de largo. 33 Finalmente, un samaritanot que iba de camino llegó junto al herido y, al verlo, se sintió conmovido.t 34 Se acercó a él, le vendó las heridas poniendo aceite y vinot sobre ellas, lo montó en su propia cabalgadura, lo condujo a una posada próxima y cuidó de él. 35 Al día siguiente, antes de reanudar el viaje, el samaritano dio dos denariost al posadero y le dijo: “Cuida bien a este hombre. Si gastas más, te lo pagaré a mi vuelta”.

36 Pues bien, ¿cuál de estos tres hombres te parece que fue el prójimo del que cayó en manos de ladrones?

37 El maestro de la ley contestó:
— El que tuvo compasión de él.
Y Jesús le replicó:
— Pues vete y haz tú lo mismo.

Jesús visita a Marta y María

40 Marta, en cambio, andaba atareada con los quehaceres domésticos, por lo que se acercó a Jesús y le dijo:
— Señor, ¿te parece bien que mi hermana me deje sola con todo el trabajo de la casa? Por favor, dile que me ayude.

41 El Señor le contestó:
— Marta, Marta, andas angustiada y preocupada por muchas cosas. 42 Sin embargo, una sola es necesaria. María ha elegido la mejor parte y nadie se la arrebatará.

Luke 10

The Mission of the Seventy-Two

1 After thist the Lord appointed seventy-twos others and sent them on ahead of him two by two into every townt and place where he himself was about to go.2 Het said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore ask the Lord of the harvests to send outt workers into his harvest.3 Go! It am sending you out like lambss surrounded by wolves.s4 Do not carrys a money bag,t a traveler’s bag,t or sandals, and greet no one on the road.t5 Whenevert you enter a house,t first say, ‘May peaces be on this house!’6 And if a peace-loving persont is there, your peace will remain on him, but if not, it will return to you.s7 Stayt in that same house, eating and drinking what they give you,t for the worker deserves his pay.s Do not move around from house to house.8 Whenevert you enter a townt and the peoplet welcome you, eat what is set before you.9 Healts the sick in that townt and say to them, ‘The kingdom of Gods has come upont you!’10 But whenevert you enter a townt and the peoplet do not welcomes you, go into its streetst and say,11 ‘Even the dust of your townt that clings to our feet we wipe offs against you.t Nevertheless know this: The kingdom of God has come.’t

12 I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodoms than for that town!t
13 “Woe to you, Chorazin!s Woe to you, Bethsaida! For ift the miraclest done in you had been done in Tyres and Sidon,ss they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.14 But it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you!

15 And you, Capernaum,ss will you be exalted to heaven?t No, you will be thrown down to Hades!s

16 “The one who listenst to you listens to me,s and the one who rejects you rejects me, and the one who rejects me rejectst the one who sent me.”s
17 Thent the seventy-twoss returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons submit tot us in your name!”t18 Sot he said to them, “I sawt Satan fallt like lightningt from heaven.19 Look, I have given you authority to treadt on snakes and scorpionss and on the full force of the enemy,ts and nothing willt hurt you.

20 Nevertheless, do not rejoice thatt the spirits submit to you, but rejoicet that your names stand writtent in heaven.”
21 On that same occasiont Jesust rejoiceds in the Holy Spirit and said, “I praiset you, Father, Lords of heaven and earth, becauset you have hidden these things from the wises and intelligent, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your gracious will.t

22 All things have been given to me by my Father.s No one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son decidest to reveal him.”
23 Thent Jesust turnedt to hist disciples and said privately, “Blesseds are the eyes that see what you see!

24 For I tell you that many prophets and kings longed to sees what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.”

The Parable of the Good Samaritan

25 Nowt an expert in religious lawt stood up to test Jesus,t saying, “Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”s26 He said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you understand it?”t27 The expertt answered, “Lovetthe Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,s and love your neighbor as yourself.”t

28 Jesust said to him, “You have answered correctly;s do this, and you will live.”
29 But the expert,t wanting to justifyts himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”30 Jesus replied,t “A man was going downs from Jerusalems to Jericho,s and fell into the hands of robbers, who stripped him, beatt him up, and went off, leaving him half dead.s31 Now by chances a priest was going down that road, butt when he saw the injured mant he passed bys on the other side.s32 So too a Levite, when he came up tot the place and saw him,t passed by on the other side.33 Butt a Samaritant who was travelingt came to where the injured mant was, and when he saw him, he felt compassion for him.ts34 Het went up to himt and bandaged his wounds, pouring oils and wine on them. Thent he put him ont his own animal,s brought him to an inn, and took care of him.35 Thet next day he took out two silver coinsts and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take care of him, and whatever else you spend, I will repay you when I come back this way.’t36 Which of these three do you think became a neighbors to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?”

37 The expert in religious lawt said, “The one who showed mercys to him.” Sot Jesus said to him, “Go and dot the same.”

Jesus and Martha

38 Now as they went on their way, Jesust entered a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him as a guest.st39 Shet had a sister named Mary, who satt at the Lord’s feets and listened to what he said.40 But Martha was distracteds with all the preparations she had to make,t sot she came up to him and said, “Lord, don’t you caret that my sister has left me to do all the workt alone? Tellt her to help me.”41 But the Lords answered her,t “Martha, Martha,s you are worried and troubledt about many things,

42 but one things is needed. Mary has chosen the bestt part; it will not be taken away from her.”
