Lukas 10

1 Danach aber bestimmte der Herr noch 70 andere und sandte sie je zwei und zwei vor sich her in alle Städte und Orte, wohin er selbst kommen wollte.2 Er sprach nun zu ihnen: Die Ernte ist groß, aber es sind wenige Arbeiter. Darum bittet den Herrn der Ernte, dass er Arbeiter in seine Ernte sende!3 Geht hin! Siehe, ich sende euch wie Lämmer mitten unter die Wölfe.4 Tragt weder Beutel noch Tasche noch Schuhe und grüßt niemand auf dem Weg.5 Wo ihr aber in ein Haus hineingeht, da sprecht zuerst: Friede diesem Haus!6 Und wenn dort ein Sohn des Friedens ist, so wird euer Friede auf ihm ruhen, wenn aber nicht, so wird er zu euch zurückkehren.7 In demselben Haus aber bleibt und esst und trinkt das, was man euch vorsetzt; denn der Arbeiter ist seines Lohnes wert. Geht nicht aus einem Haus ins andere.8 Und wenn ihr in eine Stadt kommt und sie euch aufnehmen, da esst, was euch vorgesetzt wird;9 und heilt die Kranken, die dort sind, und sagt zu ihnen: Das Reich Gottes ist nahe zu euch herbeigekommen!10 Wenn ihr aber in eine Stadt kommt und sie euch nicht aufnehmen, da geht auf ihre Gassen hinaus und sprecht:11 Auch den Staub, der sich aus eurer Stadt an uns gehängt hat, streifen wir ab gegen euch; doch sollt ihr wissen , dass das Reich Gottes nahe zu euch herbeigekommen ist!12 Ich sage euch aber: Es wird Sodom an jenem Tag erträglicher gehen als dieser Stadt.13 Wehe dir, Chorazin! Wehe dir, Bethsaida! Denn wenn in Tyrus und Zidon die Wundertaten geschehen wären, die bei euch geschehen sind, so hätten sie längst in Sack und Asche sitzend Buße getan.14 Doch es wird Tyrus und Zidon erträglicher gehen im Gericht als euch.15 Und du, Kapernaum, die du bis zum Himmel erhöht worden bist, du wirst bis zum Totenreich hinabgeworfen werden!16 Wer euch hört, der hört mich, und wer euch verwirft, der verwirft mich; wer aber mich verwirft, der verwirft den, der mich gesandt hat.17 Die Siebzig aber kehrten mit Freuden zurück und sprachen: Herr, auch die Dämonen sind uns untertan in deinem Namen !18 Da sprach er zu ihnen: Ich sah den Satan wie einen Blitz vom Himmel fallen.19 Siehe, ich gebe euch die Vollmacht, auf Schlangen und Skorpione zu treten, und über alle Gewalt des Feindes; und nichts wird euch in irgendeiner Weise schaden.20 Doch nicht darüber freut euch, dass euch die Geister untertan sind; freut euch aber lieber darüber, dass eure Namen im Himmel geschrieben sind.21 Zu derselben Stunde frohlockte Jesus im Geist und sprach: Ich preise dich, Vater, Herr des Himmels und der Erde, dass du dies den Weisen und Klugen verborgen und es den Unmündigen geoffenbart hast. Ja, Vater, denn so ist es wohlgefällig gewesen vor dir.22 Und zu den Jüngern gewandt sagte er: Alles ist mir übergeben worden von meinem Vater; und niemand weiß, wer der Sohn ist, als nur der Vater; und wer der Vater ist, [weiß niemand] als nur der Sohn und wem der Sohn es offenbaren will.23 Und er wandte sich zu seinen Jüngern besonders und sprach: Glückselig sind die Augen, die sehen, was ihr seht!24 Denn ich sage euch, viele Propheten und Könige wünschten zu sehen, was ihr seht, und haben es nicht gesehen, und zu hören, was ihr hört, und haben es nicht gehört.25 Und siehe, ein Gesetzesgelehrter trat auf, versuchte ihn und sprach: Meister, was muss ich tun , um das ewige Leben zu erben?26 Und er sprach zu ihm: Was steht im Gesetz geschrieben? Wie liest du?27 Er aber antwortete und sprach: »Du sollst den Herrn , deinen Gott, lieben mit deinem ganzen Herzen und mit deiner ganzen Seele und mit deiner ganzen Kraft und mit deinem ganzen Denken, und deinen Nächsten wie dich selbst!« t28 Er sprach zu ihm: Du hast recht geantwortet; tue dies, so wirst du leben!29 Er aber wollte sich selbst rechtfertigen und sprach zu Jesus: Und wer ist mein Nächster ?30 Da erwiderte Jesus und sprach: Es ging ein Mensch von Jerusalem nach Jericho hinab und fiel unter die Räuber; die zogen ihn aus und schlugen ihn und liefen davon und ließen ihn halb tot liegen, so wie er war.31 Es traf sich aber, dass ein Priester dieselbe Straße hinabzog; und als er ihn sah, ging er auf der anderen Seite vorüber.32 Ebenso kam auch ein Levit, der in der Gegend war, sah ihn und ging auf der anderen Seite vorüber.33 Ein Samariter t aber kam auf seiner Reise in seine Nähe, und als er ihn sah, hatte er Erbarmen ;34 und er ging zu ihm hin, verband ihm die Wunden und goss Öl und Wein darauf, hob ihn auf sein eigenes Tier, führte ihn in eine Herberge und pflegte ihn.35 Und am anderen Tag, als er fortzog, gab er dem Wirt zwei Denare und sprach zu ihm: Verpflege ihn! Und was du mehr aufwendest, will ich dir bezahlen, wenn ich wiederkomme.36 Welcher von diesen dreien ist deiner Meinung nach nun der Nächste dessen gewesen, der unter die Räuber gefallen ist?37 Er sprach: Der, welcher die Barmherzigkeit an ihm geübt hat! Da sprach Jesus zu ihm: So geh du hin und handle ebenso!38 Es begab sich aber, als sie weiterreisten, dass er in ein gewisses Dorf kam; und eine Frau namens Martha nahm ihn auf in ihr Haus.39 Und diese hatte eine Schwester, welche Maria hieß; die setzte sich zu Jesu Füßen und hörte seinem Wort zu.40 Martha aber machte sich viel zu schaffen mit der Bedienung. Und sie trat herzu und sprach: Herr, kümmerst du dich nicht darum, dass mich meine Schwester allein dienen lässt? Sage ihr doch, dass sie mir hilft!41 Jesus aber antwortete und sprach zu ihr: Martha, Martha, du machst dir Sorge und Unruhe um vieles;42 eines aber ist Not. Maria aber hat das gute Teil erwählt; das soll nicht von ihr genommen werden!

LUKE 10

The Work //of the Seventy-Two Followers

1 Later the Lord chose 72 t other followers and sent them out two by two to every town and village where he was about to go.

2 t He said to them:
A large crop is in the fields, but there are only a few workers. Ask the Lord in charge of the harvest to send out workers to bring it in. 3 t Now go, but remember, I am sending you like lambs into a pack of wolves. 4 t Don't take along a moneybag or a traveling bag or sandals. And don't waste time greeting people on the road.t 5 As soon as you enter a home, say, “God bless this home with peace.” 6 If the people living there are peace-loving, your prayer for peace will bless them. But if they are not peace-loving, your prayer will return to you.

7 t Stay with the same family, eating and drinking whatever they give you, because workers are worth what they earn. Don't move around from house to house.
8 If the people of a town welcome you, eat whatever they offer.

9 Heal their sick and say, “God's kingdom will soon be here!”t
10  t But if the people of a town refuse to welcome you, go out into the street and say, 11 “We are shaking the dust from our feett as a warning to you. And you can be sure that God's kingdom will soon be here!”t

12 t I tell you that on the day of judgment the people of Sodom will get off easier than the people of that town!

The Unbelieving Towns

(Matthew 11.20-24)

15 t People of Capernaum, do you think you will be honored in heaven? Well, you will go down to hell!

16  t My followers, whoever listens to you is listening to me. Anyone who says “No” to you is saying “No” to me. And anyone who says “No” to me is really saying “No” to the one who sent me.

The Return of the Seventy-Two

17 When the 72t followers returned, they were excited and said, “Lord, even the demons obeyed when we spoke in your name!”

18 Jesus told them:
I saw Satan fall from heaven like a flash of lightning. 19 t I have given you the power to trample on snakes and scorpions and to defeat the power of your enemy Satan. Nothing can harm you.

20 But don't be happy because evil spirits obey you. Be happy that your names are written in heaven!

Jesus Thanks His Father

(Matthew 11.25-27; 13.16,17)

21 At that same time, Jesus felt the joy that comes from the Holy Spirit, t and he said:
My Father, Lord of heaven and earth, I am grateful that you hid all this from wise and educated people and showed it to ordinary people. Yes, Father, this is what pleased you.

22  t My Father has given me everything, and he is the only one who knows the Son. The only one who really knows the Father is the Son. But the Son wants to tell others about the Father, so they can know him too.
23 Jesus then turned to his disciples and said to them in private, “You are really blessed to see what you see!

24 Many prophets and kings were eager to see what you see and to hear what you hear. But I tell you they did not see or hear.”

The Good Samaritan

25  t An expert in the Law of Moses stood up and asked Jesus a question to see what he would say. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to have eternal life?”

26 Jesus answered, “What is written in the Scriptures? How do you understand them?”

27  t The man replied, “The Scriptures say, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind.’ They also say, ‘Love your neighbors as much as you love yourself.’ ”

28  t Jesus said, “You have given the right answer. If you do this, you will have eternal life.”

29 But the man wanted to show that he knew what he was talking about. So he asked Jesus, “Who are my neighbors?”

30 Jesus replied:
As a man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, robbers attacked him and grabbed everything he had. They beat him up and ran off, leaving him half dead.
31 A priest happened to be going down the same road. But when he saw the man, he walked by on the other side.

32 Later a temple helpert came to the same place. But when he saw the man who had been beaten up, he also went by on the other side.
33  t A man from Samaria then came traveling along that road. When he saw the man, he felt sorry for him 34 and went over to him. He treated his wounds with olive oil and winet and bandaged them. Then he put him on his own donkey and took him to an inn, where he took care of him.

35 The next morning he gave the innkeeper two silver coins and said, “Please take care of the man. If you spend more than this on him, I will pay you when I return.”

36 Then Jesus asked, “Which one of these three people was a real neighbor to the man who was beaten up by robbers?”

37 The expert in the Law of Moses answered, “The one who showed pity.”
Jesus said, “Go and do the same!”

Martha and Mary

40 Martha was worried about all that had to be done. Finally, she went to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn't it bother you that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her to come and help me!”
41 The Lord answered, “Martha, Martha! You are worried and upset about so many things, 42 but only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen what is best, and it will not be taken away from her.”
