1 اِس کے بعد خداوند نے مزید 72 شاگردوں کو مقرر کیا اور اُنہیں دو دو کر کے اپنے آگے ہر اُس شہر اور جگہ بھیج دیا جہاں وہ ابھی جانے کو تھا۔2 اُس نے اُن سے کہا، ”فصل بہت ہے، لیکن مزدور تھوڑے۔ اِس لئے فصل کے مالک سے درخواست کرو کہ وہ فصل کاٹنے کے لئے مزید مزدور بھیج دے۔3 اب روانہ ہو جاؤ، لیکن ذہن میں یہ بات رکھو کہ تم بھیڑ کے بچوں کی مانند ہو جنہیں مَیں بھیڑیوں کے درمیان بھیج رہا ہوں۔4 اپنے ساتھ نہ بٹوا لے جانا، نہ سامان کے لئے بیگ، نہ جوتے۔ اور راستے میں کسی کو بھی سلام نہ کرنا۔5 جب بھی تم کسی کے گھر میں داخل ہو تو پہلے یہ کہنا، ’اِس گھر کی سلامتی ہو۔‘6 اگر اُس میں سلامتی کا کوئی بندہ ہو گا تو تمہاری برکت اُس پر ٹھہرے گی، ورنہ وہ تم پر لوٹ آئے گی۔7 سلامتی کے ایسے گھر میں ٹھہرو اور وہ کچھ کھاؤ پیؤ جو تم کو دیا جائے، کیونکہ مزدور اپنی مزدوری کا حق دار ہے۔ مختلف گھروں میں گھومتے نہ پھرو بلکہ ایک ہی گھر میں رہو۔8 جب بھی تم کسی شہر میں داخل ہو اور لوگ تم کو قبول کریں تو جو کچھ وہ تم کو کھانے کو دیں اُسے کھاؤ۔9 وہاں کے مریضوں کو شفا دے کر بتاؤ کہ اللہ کی بادشاہی قریب آ گئی ہے۔10 لیکن اگر تم کسی شہر میں جاؤ اور لوگ تم کو قبول نہ کریں تو پھر شہر کی سڑکوں پر کھڑے ہو کر کہو،11 ’ہم اپنے جوتوں سے تمہارے شہر کی گرد بھی جھاڑ دیتے ہیں۔ یوں ہم تمہارے خلاف گواہی دیتے ہیں۔ لیکن یہ جان لو کہ اللہ کی بادشاہی قریب آ گئی ہے۔‘12 مَیں تم کو بتاتا ہوں کہ اُس دن اُس شہر کی نسبت سدوم کا حال زیادہ قابلِ برداشت ہو گا۔13 اے خرازین، تجھ پر افسوس! بیت صیدا، تجھ پر افسوس! اگر صور اور صیدا میں وہ معجزے کئے گئے ہوتے جو تم میں ہوئے تو وہاں کے لوگ کب کے ٹاٹ اوڑھ کر اور سر پر راکھ ڈال کر توبہ کر چکے ہوتے۔14 جی ہاں، عدالت کے دن تمہاری نسبت صور اور صیدا کا حال زیادہ قابلِ برداشت ہو گا۔15 اور تُو اے کفرنحوم، کیا تجھے آسمان تک سرفراز کیا جائے گا؟ ہرگز نہیں، بلکہ تُو اُترتا اُترتا پاتال تک پہنچے گا۔16 جس نے تمہاری سنی اُس نے میری بھی سنی۔ اور جس نے تم کو رد کیا اُس نے مجھے بھی رد کیا۔ اور مجھے رد کرنے والے نے اُسے بھی رد کیا جس نے مجھے بھیجا ہے۔“17 72 شاگرد لوٹ آئے۔ وہ بہت خوش تھے اور کہنے لگے، ”خداوند، جب ہم آپ کا نام لیتے ہیں تو بدروحیں بھی ہمارے تابع ہو جاتی ہیں۔“18 عیسیٰ نے جواب دیا، ”ابلیس مجھے نظر آیا اور وہ بجلی کی طرح آسمان سے گر رہا تھا۔19 دیکھو، مَیں نے تم کو سانپوں اور بچھوؤں پر چلنے کا اختیار دیا ہے۔ تم کو دشمن کی پوری طاقت پر اختیار حاصل ہے۔ کچھ بھی تم کو نقصان نہیں پہنچا سکے گا۔20 لیکن اِس وجہ سے خوشی نہ مناؤ کہ بدروحیں تمہارے تابع ہیں، بلکہ اِس وجہ سے کہ تمہارے نام آسمان پر درج کئے گئے ہیں۔“21 اُسی وقت عیسیٰ روح القدس میں خوشی منانے لگا۔ اُس نے کہا، ”اے باپ، آسمان و زمین کے مالک! مَیں تیری تمجید کرتا ہوں کہ تُو نے یہ بات داناؤں اور عقل مندوں سے چھپا کر چھوٹے بچوں پر ظاہر کر دی ہے۔ ہاں میرے باپ، کیونکہ یہی تجھے پسند آیا۔22 میرے باپ نے سب کچھ میرے سپرد کر دیا ہے۔ کوئی نہیں جانتا کہ فرزند کون ہے سوائے باپ کے۔ اور کوئی نہیں جانتا کہ باپ کون ہے سوائے فرزند کے اور اُن لوگوں کے جن پر فرزند یہ ظاہر کرنا چاہتا ہے۔“23 پھر عیسیٰ شاگردوں کی طرف مُڑا اور علیٰحدگی میں اُن سے کہنے لگا، ”مبارک ہیں وہ آنکھیں جو وہ کچھ دیکھتی ہیں جو تم نے دیکھا ہے۔24 مَیں تم کو بتاتا ہوں کہ بہت سے نبی اور بادشاہ یہ دیکھنا چاہتے تھے جو تم دیکھتے ہو، لیکن اُنہوں نے نہ دیکھا۔ اور وہ یہ سننے کے آرزومند تھے جو تم سنتے ہو، لیکن اُنہوں نے نہ سنا۔“25 ایک موقع پر شریعت کا ایک عالم عیسیٰ کو پھنسانے کی خاطر کھڑا ہوا۔ اُس نے پوچھا، ”اُستاد، مَیں کیا کیا کرنے سے میراث میں ابدی زندگی پا سکتا ہوں؟“26 عیسیٰ نے اُس سے کہا، ”شریعت میں کیا لکھا ہے؟ تُو اُس میں کیا پڑھتا ہے؟“27 آدمی نے جواب دیا، ”’رب اپنے خدا سے اپنے پورے دل، اپنی پوری جان، اپنی پوری طاقت اور اپنے پورے ذہن سے پیار کرنا۔‘ اور ’اپنے پڑوسی سے ویسی محبت رکھنا جیسی تُو اپنے آپ سے رکھتا ہے‘۔“28 عیسیٰ نے کہا، ”تُو نے ٹھیک جواب دیا۔ ایسا ہی کر تو زندہ رہے گا۔“29 لیکن عالم نے اپنے آپ کو درست ثابت کرنے کی غرض سے پوچھا، ”تو میرا پڑوسی کون ہے؟“30 عیسیٰ نے جواب میں کہا، ”ایک آدمی یروشلم سے یریحو کی طرف جا رہا تھا کہ وہ ڈاکوؤں کے ہاتھوں میں پڑ گیا۔ اُنہوں نے اُس کے کپڑے اُتار کر اُسے خوب مارا اور اَدھ موا چھوڑ کر چلے گئے۔31 اتفاق سے ایک امام بھی اُسی راستے پر یریحو کی طرف چل رہا تھا۔ لیکن جب اُس نے زخمی آدمی کو دیکھا تو راستے کی پرلی طرف ہو کر آگے نکل گیا۔32 لاوی قبیلے کا ایک خادم بھی وہاں سے گزرا۔ لیکن وہ بھی راستے کی پرلی طرف سے آگے نکل گیا۔33 پھر سامریہ کا ایک مسافر وہاں سے گزرا۔ جب اُس نے زخمی آدمی کو دیکھا تو اُسے اُس پر ترس آیا۔34 وہ اُس کے پاس گیا اور اُس کے زخموں پر تیل اور مَے لگا کر اُن پر پٹیاں باندھ دیں۔ پھر اُس کو اپنے گدھے پر بٹھا کر سرائے تک لے گیا۔ وہاں اُس نے اُس کی مزید دیکھ بھال کی۔35 اگلے دن اُس نے چاندی کے دو سکے نکال کر سرائے کے مالک کو دیئے اور کہا، ’اِس کی دیکھ بھال کرنا۔ اگر خرچہ اِس سے بڑھ کر ہوا تو مَیں واپسی پر ادا کر دوں گا‘۔“36 پھر عیسیٰ نے پوچھا، ”اب تیرا کیا خیال ہے، ڈاکوؤں کی زد میں آنے والے آدمی کا پڑوسی کون تھا؟ امام، لاوی یا سامری؟“37 عالم نے جواب دیا، ”وہ جس نے اُس پر رحم کیا۔“ عیسیٰ نے کہا، ”بالکل ٹھیک۔ اب تُو بھی جا کر ایسا ہی کر۔“38 پھر عیسیٰ شاگردوں کے ساتھ آگے نکلا۔ چلتے چلتے وہ ایک گاؤں میں پہنچا۔ وہاں کی ایک عورت بنام مرتھا نے اُسے اپنے گھر میں خوش آمدید کہا۔39 مرتھا کی ایک بہن تھی جس کا نام مریم تھا۔ وہ خداوند کے پاؤں میں بیٹھ کر اُس کی باتیں سننے لگی40 جبکہ مرتھا مہمانوں کی خدمت کرتے کرتے تھک گئی۔ آخرکار وہ عیسیٰ کے پاس آ کر کہنے لگی، ”خداوند، کیا آپ کو پروا نہیں کہ میری بہن نے مہمانوں کی خدمت کا پورا انتظام مجھ پر چھوڑ دیا ہے؟ اُس سے کہیں کہ وہ میری مدد کرے۔“41 لیکن خداوند عیسیٰ نے جواب میں کہا، ”مرتھا، مرتھا، تُو بہت سی فکروں اور پریشانیوں میں پڑ گئی ہے۔42 لیکن ایک بات ضروری ہے۔ مریم نے بہتر حصہ چن لیا ہے اور یہ اُس سے چھینا نہیں جائے گا۔“
Luke 10
1 Now after these things the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself was about to come.2 And he said unto them, The harvest indeed is plenteous, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth laborers into his harvest.3 Go your ways; behold, I send you forth as lambs in the midst of wolves.4 Carry no purse, no wallet, no shoes; and salute no man on the way.5 And into whatsoever house ye shall enter, first say, Peace be to this house.6 And if a son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon him: but if not, it shall turn to you again.7 And in that same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the laborer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:9 and heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.10 But into whatsoever city ye shall enter, and they receive you not, go out into the streets thereof and say,11 Even the dust from your city, that cleaveth to our feet, we wipe off against you: nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh.12 I say unto you, it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.13 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which were done in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.14 But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment, than for you.15 And thou, Capernaum, shalt thou be exalted unto heaven? thou shalt be brought down unto Hades.16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that rejecteth you rejecteth me; and he that rejecteth me rejecteth him that sent me.17 And the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject unto us in thy name.18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan fallen as lightning from heaven.19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall in any wise hurt you.20 Nevertheless in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.21 In that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou didst hide these things from the wise and understanding, and didst reveal them unto babes: yea, Father; for so it was well-pleasing in thy sight.22 All things have been delivered unto me of my Father: and no one knoweth who the Son is, save the Father; and who the Father is, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son willeth to reveal him.23 And turning to the disciples, he said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:24 for I say unto you, that many prophets and kings desired to see the things which ye see, and saw them not; and to hear the things which ye hear, and heard them not.25 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and made trial of him, saying, Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?26 And he said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.29 But he, desiring to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbor?30 Jesus made answer and said, A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho; and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead.31 And by chance a certain priest was going down that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.32 And in like manner a Levite also, when he came to the place, and saw him, passed by on the other side.33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he was moved with compassion,34 and came to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on them oil and wine; and he set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.35 And on the morrow he took out two shillings, and gave them to the host, and said, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, I, when I come back again, will repay thee.36 Which of these three, thinkest thou, proved neighbor unto him that fell among the robbers?37 And he said, He that showed mercy on him. And Jesus said unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.38 Now as they went on their way, he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at the Lord’s feet, and heard his word.40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving; and she came up to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister did leave me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.41 But the Lord answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art anxious and troubled about many things:42 but one thing is needful: for Mary hath chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
