Lucas 10

Jesús envía a los setenta y dos

1 Después de esto, el Señor eligió a otros setenta y dost. Los mandó de dos en dos delante de él a todos los pueblos y lugares a donde quería ir.

2 Jesús les dijo: «La cosecha es mucha, pero los trabajadores son pocos. Por eso, pidan al dueño de la cosecha que envíe trabajadores para recogerla.
3 »¡Vayan! y tengan en cuenta que los envío como corderos en medio de lobos.4 No lleven dinero ni provisiones ni sandalias, y no se detengan a saludar a nadie por el camino.5 Cuando entren a alguna casa, primero digan: "La paz sea con ustedes".6 Si allí vive alguien de paz, la bendición de paz de ustedes se quedará con él. Pero si no, la bendición regresará a ustedes.

7 Quédense en esa casa, coman y beban lo que ellos les ofrezcan, porque los que trabajan merecen recibir su sustento. No vayan de casa en casa.
8 »Cuando lleguen a un pueblo donde sean bienvenidos, coman lo que les ofrezcan.9 Sanen a los enfermos de ese pueblo y díganles: "El reino de Diost ya está cerca de ustedes".10 Pero cuando lleguen a un pueblo donde no sean bienvenidos, salgan a las calles y digan:11 "¡Sacudimos contra ustedes hasta el polvo de su pueblo que se pegó en nuestros pies. Pero tengan por seguro que el reino de Dios ya está cerca!"

12 Les digo que en el día del juicio final, le irá mejor a Sodomat que a la gente de ese pueblo.

Jesús advierte a los que no creen

13 »¡Pobre de ti, Corazínt! ¡Pobre de ti, Betsaidat! Porque si los milagros que se hicieron en ustedes se hubieran hecho en Tirot y en Sidónt, ellos hace mucho tiempo que se habrían puesto ropa áspera y echado ceniza en la cabeza para mostrar dolor por sus pecados.14 Pero en el día del juicio les irá mejor a Tiro y a Sidón que a ustedes.

15 Y tú Capernaúmt, ¿de verdad piensas que serás elevada hasta el cielo? Pues no, sino que bajarás hasta el infierno.

16 »El que los escuche a ustedes, me escucha a mí; el que los rechace, me rechaza a mí; y el que me rechaza a mí, rechaza al que me envió».

Satanás cae

17 Los setenta y dos elegidos regresaron muy felices y dijeron:
—Señor, ¡hasta los demonios nos obedecen en tu nombre!

18 Entonces Jesús les dijo:
—Vi a Satanás caer del cielo como un relámpago.19 Tengan la seguridad de que les he dado autoridad de aplastar escorpiones y serpientes, y autoridad sobre todo el poder del enemigo. Nada les hará daño.

20 Pero no se alegren tanto de dominar a los espíritus, sino de que sus nombres están escritos en el cielo.

Jesús alaba al Padre

21 En ese momento, Jesús, lleno de alegría del Espíritu Santo, dijo: «Te alabo Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra porque has escondido estas cosas de los sabios y entendidos, y se las has revelado a estos que son como niños. Sí Padre, porque así te agradó.

22 »Mi Padre me ha dado todo. Nadie sabe quién es el Hijo, sino el Padre; y nadie sabe quién es el Padre, sino el Hijo y aquellos a quienes el Hijo quiera revelárselo».
23 Dándose vuelta hacia sus seguidores, les dijo en privado: «Afortunadost los ojos que ven lo que ustedes ven.

24 Porque yo les digo que muchos profetas y reyes quisieron ver lo que ustedes ven, pero no lo vieron. Ellos quisieron oír lo que ustedes oyen, pero no lo oyeron».

Historia del buen samaritano

25 Entonces un experto de la ley se levantó para probar a Jesús:
—Maestro, ¿qué tengo que hacer para tener vida eterna?

26 Entonces Jesús le dijo:
—¿Qué está escrito en la ley? ¿Cómo lo entiendes?

27 Él contestó:
—"Ama al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, con toda tu alma, con todas tus fuerzas y con toda tu mente"t y ama a tu semejante como te amas a ti mismo.t

28 Entonces Jesús le dijo:
—Tienes razón, hazlo y vivirás.

29 Pero como quería demostrar que su manera de vivir era correcta, le dijo a Jesús:
—¿Y quién es mi semejante?

30 Jesús le respondió:
—Un hombre iba de Jerusalén a Jericó. Unos ladrones lo rodearon, le quitaron la ropa, lo golpearon y lo dejaron medio muerto.31 Dio la casualidad que venía un sacerdote por el mismo camino. Cuando vio al hombre, siguió por otro lado.32 De la misma manera, un levitat pasó por el mismo lugar, vio al hombre, pero también siguió por otro lado.33 Pero un samaritanot que viajaba por ahí llegó a donde estaba el hombre, y al verlo se compadeció de él.34 Entonces se acercó al hombre, derramó aceite y vino en las heridas y las vendó. Luego lo montó en su animal de carga y lo llevó a una pequeña posada donde lo cuidó.35 Al siguiente día, el samaritano le dio dos monedas de platat al encargado de la posada y le dijo: "Cuídalo, y si se necesita más, te pagaré cuando regrese".

36 ¿Cuál de los tres crees tú que fue el semejante del hombre que estaba medio muerto en el camino?

37 El experto de la ley le contestó:
—El que tuvo compasión de él.
Entonces Jesús le dijo:
—Ve y haz tú lo mismo.

María y Marta

38 Mientras iba de camino con sus seguidores, Jesús entró a un pueblo. Una mujer llamada Marta lo recibió bien en su casa.39 Ella tenía una hermana llamada María, quien se sentó a los pies del Señor a escuchar lo que estaba diciendo.

40 Pero Marta estaba preocupada porque tenía mucho que hacer, entonces fue y le dijo a Jesús:
—Señor, ¿no te importa que mi hermana me haya dejado todo el trabajo a mi sola? Dile que me ayude.

41 El Señor le respondió:
—Marta, Marta, estás preocupada y molesta por demasiadas cosas,

42 pero sólo hay algo realmente importante. María ha elegido lo mejor, y nadie se lo puede quitar.

Luke 10

The Seventy Sent Out

1 Now after this the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them in pairs ahead of Him to every city and place where He Himself was going to come.2 And He was saying to them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.3 Go; behold, I send you out as lambs in the midst of wolves.4 Carry no money belt, no bag, no shoes; and greet no one on the way.5 Whatever house you enter, first say, 'Peace be to this house.'6 If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you.7 Stay in that house, eating and drinking what they give you; for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not keep moving from house to house.8 Whatever city you enter and they receive you, eat what is set before you;9 and heal those in it who are sick, and say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you.'10 But whatever city you enter and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say,11 'Even the dust of your city which clings to our feet we wipe off in protest against you; yet be sure of this, that the kingdom of God has come near.'12 I say to you, it will be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city.

13 "Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles had been performed in Tyre and Sidon which occurred in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.14 But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you.15 And you, Capernaum, will not be exalted to heaven, will you? You will be brought down to Hades!

16 "The one who listens to you listens to Me, and the one who rejects you rejects Me; and he who rejects Me rejects the One who sent Me."

The Happy Results

17 The seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name."18 And He said to them, "I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning.19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you.20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven."

21 At that very time He rejoiced greatly in the Holy Spirit, and said, "I praise You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight.22 All things have been handed over to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him."

23 Turning to the disciples, He said privately, "Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see,24 for I say to you, that many prophets and kings wished to see the things which you see, and did not see them, and to hear the things which you hear, and did not hear them."

25 And a lawyer stood up and put Him to the test, saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"26 And He said to him, "What is written in the Law? How does it read to you?"27 And he answered, "YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND; AND YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."28 And He said to him, "You have answered correctly; DO THIS AND YOU WILL LIVE."29 But wishing to justify himself, he said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"

The Good Samaritan

30 Jesus replied and said, "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, and they stripped him and beat him, and went away leaving him half dead.31 And by chance a priest was going down on that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.32 Likewise a Levite also, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.33 But a Samaritan, who was on a journey, came upon him; and when he saw him, he felt compassion,34 and came to him and bandaged up his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them; and he put him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn and took care of him.35 On the next day he took out two tdenarii and gave them to the innkeeper and said, 'Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I return I will repay you.'36 Which of these three do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell into the robbers' hands?"37 And he said, "The one who showed mercy toward him." Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do the same."

Martha and Mary

38 Now as they were traveling along, He entered a village; and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home.39 She had a sister called Mary, who was seated at the Lord's feet, listening to His word.40 But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, "Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me."41 But the Lord answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things;42 but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her."
