Lukas 11
Jesus lærer læresveinane å be
(Matt 6,9–15; 7,7–11)
1 Ein gong var han ein stad og bad. Då han var ferdig med bøna, sa ein av læresveinane til han: «Herre, lær oss å be, så som Johannes lærte sine læresveinar.»
2 Han svara: «Når de bed, skal de seia:t t
Fader vår, du som er i himmelen!
Lat namnet ditt helgast.
Lat riket ditt koma.
Lat viljen din råda på jorda ¬så som i himmelen.
3 Gjev oss kvar dag ¬vårt daglege brød.
4 Tilgjev oss våre synder,
for vi òg tilgjev kvar den ¬som har synda mot oss.
Og før oss ikkje ut i freisting,
men frels oss frå det vonde.» t t
5 Så sa han til dei: «Set at ein av dykk har ein ven og går til han midt på natta og seier: Kjære, lån meg tre brød, 6 for ein ven som er på ferd, er komen til meg, og eg har ikkje noko å setja fram for han. 7 Trur de at han der inne då vil svara: Uroa meg ikkje! Døra er alt stengd, og borna og eg er i seng. Eg kan ikkje stå opp og gje deg noko.
8 Nei, seier eg dykk: Om han ikkje står opp og gjev han det fordi det er venen hans, så står han då opp og lèt han få alt han treng fordi han er så pågåande.t
9 Og eg seier dykk: Bed, så skal de få. Leita, så skal de finna. Banka på, så skal det verta opplate for dykk. t
10 For kvar den som bed, han får, og den som leitar, han finn, og den som bankar på, for han vert det opplate.
11 Finst det ein far mellom dykk som gjev son sin ein orm når han bed om ein fisk, 12 eller gjev han ein skorpion når han bed om eit egg?
13 Når då de som er vonde, veit å gje borna dykkar gode gåver, kor mykje meir skal ikkje Faderen gje Den Heilage Ande frå himmelen til dei som bed han!»Jesu makt over vonde ånder
(Matt 12,22–30. 43–45; Mark 3,22–27)
14 Ein gong dreiv han ut ei vond ånd or ein som var mållaus. Og då ho hadde fare ut, tala den mållause. Folket undra seg. 15 Men nokre av dei sa: «Det er Beelsebul, hovdingen over dei vonde åndene, som hjelper han å driva dei vonde åndene ut.» t 16 Andre ville setja han på prøve og bad om eit teikn frå himmelen. t
17 Men Jesus visste kva dei tenkte, og sa til dei:
Eit rike som ligg i strid med seg sjølv, kjem snart til å øydast, og hus etter hus fell. 18 Er no Satan komen i strid med seg sjølv, korleis kan då riket hans halda seg? For de seier at det er Beelsebul som hjelper meg til å driva ut dei vonde åndene. 19 Men er det Beelsebul som hjelper meg til det, kven får då dykkar eigne tilhengjarar hjelp frå, når dei driv ut ånder? Difor skal dykkar eigne folk døma dykk. 20 Men er det med Guds finger eg driv ut dei vonde åndene, ja, då er Guds rike kome til dykk. 21 Når den sterke med våpen i hand vaktar garden sin, får han ha eigedomen sin i fred. t 22 Men kjem det ein som er sterkare og vinn over han, då tek han våpna som den sterke sette si lit til, og deler ut det han har røva ifrå han. t
23 Den som ikkje er med meg, er imot meg; og den som ikkje samlar med meg, han spreier.t
24 Når ei urein ånd fer ut or eit menneske, flakkar ho over vasslause vidder og leitar etter ein kvilestad, men finn ingen. Då seier ho: «Eg vil fara attende til huset mitt, som eg flytte ifrå.» 25 Når ho kjem att, finn ho det feia og fjelga.
26 Då fer ho av stad og får med seg sju andre ånder, verre enn ho sjølv, og dei flytter inn og slår seg til der. Og har det vore ille med det mennesket før, vert det verre no.t
27 Då han sa dette, var det ei kvinne i folkehopen som ropa: «Sælt er det morslivet som bar deg, og det bryst som du saug.» t
28 Men Jesus svara: «Sei heller: Sæle er dei som høyrer Guds ord og tek vare på det.»tEi vond ætt krev teikn
(Matt 12,38–42)
29 Som no folket flokka seg om han, tok han atter til ords:
Denne ætta er ei vond ætt. Ho krev teikn, men ho skal ikkje få noko anna teikn enn Jona-teiknet. 30 For liksom Jona vart eit teikn for folket i Ninive, såleis skal Menneskesonen verta det for denne ætta. 31 Dronninga frå landet i sør skal stå fram i domen saman med mennene i denne ætta og føra klagemål mot dei. For ho kom heilt frå verdsens ende og ville høyra Salomos visdom. Og her er meir enn Salomo! t
32 Folk frå Ninive skal stå fram i domen saman med denne ætta og føra klagemål mot henne. For dei vende om då Jona bar fram bodskapen sin. Og her er meir enn Jona!tLjoset og auga
(Matt 5,15; 6,22–23)
33 Ingen kveikjer eit ljos og set det i kjellaren eller under eit kar. Nei, han set det i staken, så dei som kjem inn, kan sjå skinet frå det. t 34 Auga gjev lekamen ljos. Når auga ditt er friskt, er heile lekamen din ljos. Men er auga sjukt, er lekamen din òg mørk. 35 Sjå då til at ljoset i deg ikkje er mørker!
36 Er no heile lekamen din ljos, og ingen del av han mørk, då vert alt ljost, som når ei lysande lampe skin på deg.Mot dei skriftlærde og farisearane
(Matt 23,1–36)
37 Då han hadde tala, spurde ein farisear om han ville eta hjå han. Og Jesus gjekk inn og sette seg til bords. 38 Farisearen undra seg då han såg at Jesus ikkje duppa hendene i vatn før måltidet. t
39 Men Herren sa til han:
«Ja, de farisearar, de gjer skåler og fat reine utanpå, men inni er de fulle av havesykje og vondskap. 40 Uvituge menneske! Han som har skapt det som er utvendes, har ikkje han skapt det som er innvendes òg? 41 Gjev heller dei fattige det som inni er, og sjå, då vert alt reint for dykk. t
42 Men ve dykk, farisearar! De gjev tiend av mynte, kryddeplanter og alle slag grønsaker, men bryr dykk ikkje om rettferd og kjærleik til Gud. Dette skulle gjerast, og det andre ikkje latast ugjort.t
43 Ve dykk, farisearar! De elskar å sitja fremst i synagogene og vil gjerne at folk skal helsa dykk på torget. t 44 Ve dykk! De liknar graver som ikkje lenger er synlege; folk går på dei og veit ikkje av det.» t 45 Då tok ein av dei lovkunnige til ords og sa: «Meister, når du seier slikt, krenkjer du oss òg.» 46 Men Jesus svara: «Ve dykk, de lovkunnige òg! De legg tunge bører på folk, men sjølve rører de dei ikkje med ein finger. 47 Ve dykk! De byggjer gravmæle over profetane, dei som fedrane dykkar slo i hel. 48 Så er de vitne som går god for det fedrane dykkar gjorde, og samtykkjer i det. For dei slo profetane i hel, og de byggjer gravmæle. 49 Difor har òg Guds visdom sagt: Eg vil senda profetar og apostlar til dei; somme skal dei slå i hel, andre skal dei forfylgja. t t 50 Difor skal denne ætta få svara for alt profetblodet som har runne frå verda vart grunnlagd, 51 frå drapet på Abel til drapet på Sakarja, han som lét livet mellom altaret og templet. Ja, seier eg dykk, denne ætta skal svara for det. t
52 Ve dykk lovkunnige! De har teke kunnskapsnykelen. Sjølve gjekk de ikkje inn, og dei som ville gå inn, hindra de.»
53 Då Jesus gjekk ut derifrå, var dei skriftlærde og farisearane fælande harme og trengde seg inn på han med mange slag spørsmål. 54 Dei lurte på han og prøvde å få han til å seia eitkvart som dei kunne klaga han for.t
LUKE 11
Prayer
(Matthew 6.9-13; 7.7-11)
1 When Jesus had finished praying, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his followers to pray.”
2 So Jesus told them, “Pray in this way:
‘Father, help us
to honor your name.
Come and set up
your kingdom.
3 Give us each day
the food we need.t
4 Forgive our sins,
as we forgive everyone
who has done wrong to us.
And keep us
from being tempted.’ ”
5 Then Jesus went on to say:
Suppose one of you goes to a friend in the middle of the night and says, “Let me borrow three loaves of bread. 6 A friend of mine has dropped in, and I don't have a thing for him to eat.”
7 And suppose your friend answers, “Don't bother me! The door is bolted, and my children and I are in bed. I cannot get up to give you something.”
8 He may not get up and give you the bread, just because you are his friend. But he will get up and give you as much as you need, simply because you are not ashamed to keep on asking.
9 So I tell you to ask and you will receive, search and you will find, knock and the door will be opened for you. 10 Everyone who asks will receive, everyone who searches will find, and the door will be opened for everyone who knocks. 11 Which one of you fathers would give your hungry child a snake if the child asked for a fish? 12 Which one of you would give your child a scorpion if the child asked for an egg?
13 As bad as you are, you still know how to give good gifts to your children. But your heavenly Father is even more ready to give the Holy Spirit to anyone who asks.Jesus and the Ruler //of Demons
(Matthew 12.22-30; Mark 3.20-27)
14 Jesus forced a demon out of a man who could not talk. And after the demon had gone out, the man started speaking, and the crowds were amazed.
15 t But some people said, “He forces out demons by the power of Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons!”
16 t Others wanted to put Jesus to the test. So they asked him to show them a sign from God.
17 Jesus knew what they were thinking, and he said:
A kingdom where people fight each other will end up in ruin. And a family that fights will break up. 18 If Satan fights against himself, how can his kingdom last? Yet you say that I force out demons by the power of Beelzebul. 19 If I use his power to force out demons, whose power do your own followers use to force them out? They are the ones who will judge you.
20 But if I use God's power to force out demons, it proves that God's kingdom has already come to you.
21 When a strong man arms himself and guards his home, everything he owns is safe. 22 But if a stronger man comes and defeats him, he will carry off the weapons in which the strong man trusted. Then he will divide with others what he has taken.
23 t If you are not on my side, you are against me. If you don't gather in the crop with me, you scatter it.Return of an Evil Spirit
(Matthew 12.43-45)
24 When an evil spirit leaves a person, it travels through the desert, looking for a place to rest. But when it doesn't find a place, it says, “I will go back to the home I left.” 25 When it gets there and finds the place clean and fixed up,
26 it goes off and finds seven other evil spirits even worse than itself. They all come and make their home there, and that person ends up in worse shape than before.Being Really Blessed
27 While Jesus was still talking, a woman in the crowd spoke up, “The woman who gave birth to you and nursed you is blessed!”
28 Jesus replied, “That's true, but the people who are really blessed are the ones who hear and obey God's message!”tA Sign from God
(Matthew 12.38-42; Mark 8.12)
29 t As crowds were gathering around Jesus, he said:
You people of today are evil! You keep looking for a sign from God. But what happened to Jonaht is the only sign you will be given. 30 t Just as Jonah was a sign to the people of Nineveh, the Son of Man will be a sign to the people of today. 31 t When the judgment comes, the Queen of the Southt will stand there with you and condemn you. She traveled a long way to hear Solomon's wisdom, and yet here is something far greater than Solomon.
32 t The people of Nineveh will also stand there with you and condemn you. They turned to God when Jonah preached, and yet here is something far greater than Jonah.Light
(Matthew 5.15; 6.22,23)
33 t No one lights a lamp and then hides it or puts it under a clay pot. A lamp is put on a lampstand, so everyone who comes into the house can see the light. 34 Your eyes are the lamp for your body. When your eyes are good, you have all the light you need. But when your eyes are bad, everything is dark. 35 So be sure your light isn't darkness.
36 If you have light, and nothing is dark, then light will be everywhere, as when a lamp shines brightly on you.Jesus Condemns the Pharisees //and Teachers of the Law of Moses
(Matthew 23.1-36; Mark 12.38-40; Luke 20.45-47)
37 When Jesus finished speaking, a Pharisee invited him home for a meal. Jesus went and sat down to eat.t 38 The Pharisee was surprised that he did not wash his handst before eating.
39 So the Lord said to him:
You Pharisees clean the outside of cups and dishes, but on the inside you are greedy and evil. 40 You fools! Didn't God make both the outside and the inside?t
41 If you would only give what you have to the poor, everything you do would please God.
42 t You Pharisees are in for trouble! You give God a tenth of the spices from your gardens, such as mint and rue. But you cheat people, and you don't love God. You should be fair and kind to others and still give a tenth to God.
43 You Pharisees are in for trouble! You love the front seats in the synagogues, and you like to be greeted with honor in the market.
44 But you are in for trouble! You are like unmarked gravest that people walk on without even knowing it.
45 A teacher of the Law of Moses spoke up, “Teacher, you said cruel things about us.”
46 Jesus replied:
You teachers are also in for trouble! You load people down with heavy burdens, but you won't lift a finger to help them carry the loads. 47 Yes, you are really in for trouble. You build monuments to honor the prophets your own people murdered long ago.
48 You must think that was the right thing for your people to do, or else you would not have built monuments for the prophets they murdered.
49 Because of your evil deeds, the Wisdom of God said, “I will send prophets and apostles to you. But you will murder some and mistreat others.” 50 You people living today will be punished for all the prophets who have been murdered since the beginning of the world.
51 t This includes every prophet from the time of Abel to the time of Zechariah, t who was murdered between the altar and the temple. You people will certainly be punished for all of this.
52 You teachers of the Law of Moses are really in for trouble! You carry the keys to the door of knowledge about God. But you never go in, and you keep others from going in.
53 Jesus was about to leave, but the teachers and the Pharisees wanted to get even with him. They tried to make him say what he thought about other things, 54 so they could catch him saying something wrong.
