Lukas 12
1 Inzwischen hatten sich Tausende von Menschen angesammelt; die drängten sich so sehr, daß sie einander traten. Da begann er zuerst zu seinen Jünger zu sagen: "Vor allem hütet euch vor dem Sauerteig der Pharisäer; damit meine ich: hütet euch vor der Heuchelei!t2 Denn nichts ist so verhüllt, daß es nicht einst enthüllt würde; und nichts ist so verborgen, daß es nicht einst gesehen würde.t3 Deshalb wird alles, was ihr im geheimen geredet habt, dereinst ganz öffentlich vernommen werden; und was ihr in den Kammern ins Ohr geflüstert habt, das soll auf den Dächernt verkündigt werden.t4 Euch aber, meinen Freunden, sage ich: Fürchtet euch nicht vor denen, die den Leib töten und die danach nichts weiter tun können!5 Ich will euch sagen, vor wem ihr euch zu fürchten habt: Fürchtet euch vor dem, der die Macht besitzt, nicht nur zu töten, sondern auch in die Höllet zu werfen! Ja, ich sage euch: Den fürchtet!t6 Verkauft man nicht fünf Sperlinge für zehn Pfennige? Trotzdem ist keiner von ihnen bei Gott vergessen.t7 Nun sind aber sogar die Haare auf euerm Haupt allesamt gezählt. Habt keine Furcht! Ihr seid mehr wert als viele Sperlinge.8 Ferner sage ich euch: Wer sich zu mir bekennt vor den Menschen, zu dem wird sich der Menschensohn auch bekennen vor den Engeln Gottes.9 Wer mich aber verleugnet vor den Menschen, der soll auch verleugnet werden vor den Engeln Gottes.10 Wer ein Wort sagt gegen den Menschensohn, der wird Vergebung finden; wer aber eine Lästerung ausspricht gegen den Heiligen Geist, der findet keine Vergebung.t11 Führt man euch nun vor die Gemeindegerichtet und vor die Obrigkeiten und Behörden, so macht euch keine Sorge, wie ihr euch verteidigen und was ihr sagen sollt.12 Denn der Heilige Geist wird euch in jenem Augenblick die rechten Worte geben."t13 Einer aus dem Volk sprach zu ihm: "Meister, sage doch meinem Bruder, er solle das Erbe mit mir teilen."14 Jesus erwiderte ihm: "Mensch, wer hat mich zum Richter oder Schiedsmann über euch bestellt?"15 Dann wandte er sich an alle und sprach: "Nehmt euch in acht und hütet euch vor aller Habsucht! Denn so reich auch jemand ist, sein Leben kann er sich nicht sichern durch seine Güter."16 Nun trug er ihnen dieses Gleichnis vor: "Die Felder eines reichen Mannes hatten viel getragen.17 Da dachte er bei sich: 'Was soll ich tun? Ich habe keinen Platz, wo ich meine Ernte unterbringen kann.'18 Dann sprach er: 'So will ich's machen: ich lasse meine Speicher niederreißen und größere bauen. Dort bringe ich die ganze Ernte und meine andere Habe unter19 und sage dann zu meiner Seele: Liebe Seele, du hast auf viele Jahre reichen Vorrat; nun ruhe, iß und trink und freue dich des Lebens!'t20 Gott aber sprach zu ihm: 'Du Tor! Diese Nacht noch soll dir deine Seele abgefordert werden. Was bleibt dir dann von allem, was du dir aufgespeichert hast?'21 So geht es einem, der sich Schätze sammelt und ist dabei nicht reich für Gott."t22 Dann wandte er sich an seine Jünger mit den Worten: "Darum sage ich euch: Sorgt nicht ängstlich für euer Leben, was ihr essen sollt, auch nicht für euern Leib, was ihr anziehen sollt!23 Denn das Leben ist mehr wert als die Nahrung, und der Leib steht höher als die Kleidung.24 Seht die Raben an! Sie säen nicht, sie ernten nicht, sie haben keine Vorratskammer oder Speicher; trotzdem ernährt sie Gott. Wieviel höher steht ihr als die Vögel!25 Wer von euch kann mit all seinem Sorgen sein Leben auch nur um eine kurze Spanne Zeit verlängern?26 Vermögt ihr nun nicht einmal das Geringste, was macht ihr euch da Sorge um das andere?27 Seht die wilden Lilien an! Sie spinnen nicht und weben nicht. Und doch — das sage ich euch — ist selbst Salomo in all seiner (königlichen) Pracht nicht so (herrlich) gekleidet gewesen wie eine von ihnen.28 Wenn Gott nun das Gras auf dem Feld, das heute noch in Blüte steht und morgen in den Ofen geworfen wird, so herrlich kleidet, wie wird er da vielmehr euch Kleidung geben, ihr Kleingläubigen!29 Darum sollt ihr nicht ängstlich fragen nach Speise und Trank. Seid deshalb ohne Bangen!30 Denn das sind lauter Fragen, womit sich die Heiden hier in der Welt beschäftigen. Euer Vater weiß ja, daß ihr dies nötig habt.31 Trachtet nur nach seinem Königreich; dann soll euch diest daneben auch zuteil werden.32 Sei ohne Furcht, du kleine Herde! Denn euerm Vater hat's gefallen, euch das Königreich zu geben.33 Verkauft eure Habe und gebt sie hin als Almosen! Macht euch Geldbeutel, die nicht veralten: erwerbt euch einen unerschöpflichen Schatz im Himmel, wo kein Dieb Zugang findet, wo keine Motte Zerstörung übt!34 Denn wo euer Schatz ist, da ist auch euer Herz.35 Seid umgürtet an euern Hüften und erhaltet eure Lampen brennend!t36 Denn ihr sollt Leuten gleichen, die auf die Rückkehr ihres Herrn von einer Hochzeit warten und ihm sofort zu öffnen haben, wenn er bei seiner Ankunft an die Tür klopft.37 Wohl den Knechten, die der Herr bei seinem Kommen wachend findet! Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Er wird sich gürten, sie zu Tisch führen und dann herumgehen, um sie zu bedienen.t38 Mag er in der zweiten,t mag er erst in der dritten Nachtwachet kommen: wohl ihnen, wenn er sie sot findet!39 Das seht ihr ein: wenn ein Hausherr wüßte, zu welcher Stunde der Dieb käme, so (bliebe er wach und) ließe nicht in sein Haus einbrechen.t40 So haltet auch ihr euch immerfort bereit; denn der Menschensohn kommt zu einer Stunde, da ihr es nicht vermutet!"41 Da sprach Petrus: "Herr, gilt dies Gleichnis nur unst oder auch allen anderen?"42 Der Herr antwortete: "Wäre doch jeder Verwaltert treu und klug, den ein Herr über seine Dienerschaft setzt, damit er jedem seine Speise gebe zu rechter Zeit!43 Wohl dem Knecht, den der Herr bei seiner Rückkehr also tätig findet!44 Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Er wird ihn über alle seine Güter setzen.45 Denkt aber jener Knecht in seinem Herzen: 'Mein Herr bleibt noch lange weg'; fängt er dann an, die Knechte und die Mägde zu mißhandeln, auch zu schmausen, zu zechen und sich zu berauschen:46 so wird sein Herr ihn überraschen an einem Tag, wo er's nicht vermutet, und zu einer Stunde, wo er's nicht erwartet. Dann wird er ihn blutig peitschen lassen und ihn an den Ort verweisen, wo die Treulosen sind.47 Ein Knecht, der seines Herrn Willen kennt und trotzdem nicht nach seinem Willen alles vorbereitet und besorgt, soll viele Streiche leiden.48 Wer aber nicht des Herrn Willen kennt und etwas tut, wofür er Züchtigung verdient, der soll die Peitsche nur wenig fühlen. Wer viel empfangen hat, von dem wird auch viel gefordert; und wem viel anvertraut worden ist, von dem wird um so mehr verlangt.49 Ich bin gekommen, um Feuer auf die Erde zu schleudern. O, was wünschte ich mehr, als daß es schon brennte!50 Zuvor aber muß ich eine Taufe erleiden.t Und wie sehne ich mich danach, daß sie vollzogen werde!t51 Meint ihr, ich sei gekommen, um Frieden zu stiften auf Erden? Nein, sage ich euch, sondern Zwietracht.t52 Denn von nun an werden fünf, die in demselben Haus wohnen, in Zwietracht miteinander leben: drei werden stehen gegen zwei und zwei gegen drei.53 Der Vater wird in Feindschaft leben mit dem Sohn und der Sohn mit dem Vater, die Mutter mit der Tochter und die Tochter mit der Mutter, die Schwiegermutter mit der Schwiegertochter und die Schwiegertochter mit der Schwiegermutter."54 Dann sprach er zu dem Volk: "Seht ihr Gewölk im Westen aufsteigen, so sagt ihr alsbald: 'Es gibt Regen', und so geschieht es auch.55 Und weht ein Südwind, so sagt ihr: 'Es wird heiß', und so trifft's ein.56 Ihr Heuchler, das Aussehen der Erde und des Himmels versteht ihr zu deuten; wie kommt es denn, daß ihr die Zeit, worin ihr lebt, nicht deuten könnt?57 Warum könnt ihr nicht auch von selbstt zu einem rechten Urteil kommen?t58 Wenn du mit deinem Gläubiger vor Gericht gehst, so gib dir noch unterwegs Mühe, dich gütlich mit ihm abzufinden. Sonst könnte er dich vor den Richter schleppen, und der Richter würde dich dann dem Gerichtsvollzieher übergeben,t und der Gerichtsvollzieher wird dich ins Schuldgefängnis werfen.t59 Ich sage dir: Du kommst dort nicht eher heraus, als bis du den letzten Heller bezahlt hast."t

1 In the mean time, when the many thousands of the multitude were gathered together, insomuch that they trod one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.2 But there is nothing covered up, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.3 Wherefore whatsoever ye have said in the darkness shall be heard in the light; and what ye have spoken in the ear in the inner chambers shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.5 But I will warn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, who after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pence? and not one of them is forgotten in the sight of God.7 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not: ye are of more value than many sparrows.8 And I say unto you, Every one who shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:9 but he that denieth me in the presence of men shall be denied in the presence of the angels of God.10 And every one who shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Spirit it shall not be forgiven.11 And when they bring you before the synagogues, and the rulers, and the authorities, be not anxious how or what ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:12 for the Holy Spirit shall teach you in that very hour what ye ought to say.13 And one out of the multitude said unto him, Teacher, bid my brother divide the inheritance with me.14 But he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and keep yourselves from all covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:17 and he reasoned within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have not where to bestow my fruits?18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my grain and my goods.19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, be merry.20 But God said unto him, Thou foolish one, this night is thy soul required of thee; and the things which thou hast prepared, whose shall they be?21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on.23 For the life is more than the food, and the body than the raiment.24 Consider the ravens, that they sow not, neither reap; which have no store-chamber nor barn; and God feedeth them: of how much more value are ye than the birds!25 And which of you by being anxious can add a cubit unto the measure of his life?26 If then ye are not able to do even that which is least, why are ye anxious concerning the rest?27 Consider the lilies, how they grow: they toil not, neither do they spin; yet I say unto you, Even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.28 But if God doth so clothe the grass in the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven; how much more shall he clothe you, O ye of little faith?29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, and what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: but your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.31 Yet seek ye his kingdom, and these things shall be added unto you.32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.33 Sell that which ye have, and give alms; make for yourselves purses which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief draweth near, neither moth destroyeth.34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.35 Let your loins be girded about, and your lamps burning;36 and be ye yourselves like unto men looking for their lord, when he shall return from the marriage feast; that, when he cometh and knocketh, they may straightway open unto him.37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them sit down to meat, and shall come and serve them.38 And if he shall come in the second watch, and if in the third, and find them so blessed are those servants.39 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched, and not have left his house to be broken through.40 Be ye also ready: for in an hour that ye think not the Son of man cometh.41 And Peter said, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even unto all?42 And the Lord said, Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall set over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season?43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will set him over all that he hath.45 But if that servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and the maidservants, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;46 the lord of that servant shall come in a day when he expecteth not, and in an hour when he knoweth not, and shall cut him asunder, and appoint his portion with the unfaithful.47 And that servant, who knew his lord’s will, and made not ready, nor did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes;48 but he that knew not, and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. And to whomsoever much is given, of him shall much be required: and to whom they commit much, of him will they ask the more.49 I came to cast fire upon the earth; and what do I desire, if it is already kindled?50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!51 Think ye that I am come to give peace in the earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:52 for there shall be from henceforth five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.53 They shall be divided, father against son, and son against father; mother against daughter, and daughter against her mother; mother in law against her daughter in law, and daughter in law against her mother in law.54 And he said to the multitudes also, When ye see a cloud rising in the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it cometh to pass.55 And when ye see a south wind blowing, ye say, There will be a scorching heat; and it cometh to pass.56 Ye hypocrites, ye know how to interpret the face of the earth and the heaven; but how is it that ye know not how to interpret this time?57 And why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?58 For as thou art going with thine adversary before the magistrate, on the way give diligence to be quit of him; lest haply he drag thee unto the judge, and the judge shall deliver thee to the officer, and the officer shall cast thee into prison.59 I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou have paid the very last mite.
