누가복음서 12

바리새파의 위선을 경계하다

1 그 동안에 수천 명이나 되는 무리가 모여들어서, 서로 밟힐 지경에 이르렀다. 예수께서는 먼저 자기 제자들에게 말씀하셨다. “너희는 바리새파 사람의 누룩 곧 위선을 경계하여라. 2 가려 놓은 것이라고 해도 벗겨지지 않을 것이 없고, 숨겨 놓은 것이라 해도 알려지지 않을 것이 없다. 3 그러므로 너희가 어두운 데서 말한 것들을 사람들이 밝은 데서 들을 것이고, 너희가 골방에서 귀에 대고 속삭인 그것을 사람들이 지붕 위에서 선포할 것이다.”

참으로 두려워할 분을 두려워하여라

(마 10:28-31)

4 “내 친구인 너희에게 내가 말한다. 육신은 죽여도 그 다음에는 그 이상 아무것도 할 수 없는 자들을 두려워하지 말아라. 5 너희가 누구를 두려워해야 할지를 내가 보여 주겠다. 죽인 다음에 t지옥에 던질 권세를 가지신 분을 두려워하여라. 그렇다. 내가 너희에게 말한다. 그분을 두려워하여라. 6 참새 다섯 마리가 두 t냥에 팔리지 않느냐? 그러나 그 가운데 하나라도, 하나님께서는 잊고 계시지 않는다. 7 하나님께서는 너희 머리카락까지도 다 세고 계신다. 두려워하지 말아라. 너희는 많은 참새보다 더 귀하다.”

사람 앞에서 그리스도를 시인하여라

(마 10:32-33; 12:32; 10:19-20)

8 “내가 너희에게 말한다. 누구든지 사람들 앞에서 나를 시인하면, 인자도 하나님의 천사들 앞에서 그 사람을 시인할 것이다. 9 그러나 사람들 앞에서 나를 부인하는 사람은, 하나님의 천사들 앞에서 부인당할 것이다. 10 누구든지 인자를 거슬러서 말하는 사람은 용서를 받을 것이지만, 성령을 거슬러서 모독하는 말을 한 사람은 용서를 받지 못할 것이다. 11 너희가 회당과 통치자와 권력자 앞에 끌려갈 때에, ‘어떻게 대답하고, t무엇을 대답할까’, 또 ‘무슨 말을 할까’ 하고 염려하지 말아라. 12 너희가 말해야 할 것을 바로 그 시각에 성령께서 가르쳐 주실 것이다.”

어리석은 부자의 비유

13 무리 가운데서 어떤 사람이 예수께 말하였다. “선생님, 내 형제에게 명해서, 유산을 나와 나누라고 해주십시오.” 14 예수께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. “이 사람아, 누가 나를 너희의 재판관이나 분배인으로 세웠느냐?” 15 그리고 사람들에게 말씀하셨다. “너희는 조심하여, 온갖 탐욕을 멀리하여라. 재산이 차고 넘치더라도, 사람의 생명은 거기에 달려 있지 않다.” 16 그리고 그들에게 비유를 하나 말씀하셨다. “어떤 부자가 밭에서 많은 소출을 거두었다. 17 그래서 그는 속으로 ‘내 소출을 쌓아둘 곳이 없으니, 어떻게 할까?’ 하고 궁리하였다. 18 그는 혼자 말하였다. ‘이렇게 해야겠다. 내 곳간을 헐고서 더 크게 짓고, 내 곡식과 물건들을 다 거기에다가 쌓아 두겠다. 19 그리고 내 영혼에게 말하겠다. 영혼아, 여러 해 동안 쓸 많은 물건을 쌓아 두었으니, 너는 마음놓고, 먹고 마시고 즐겨라.’ 20 그러나 하나님께서 말씀하셨다. ‘어리석은 사람아, 오늘밤에 네 영혼을 네게서 도로 찾을 것이다. 그러면 네가 장만한 것들이 누구의 것이 되겠느냐?’ 21 자기를 위해서는 재물을 쌓아 두면서도, 하나님께 대하여는 부요하지 못한 사람은 이와 같다.”

염려하지 말아라

(마 6:25-34, 19-21)

22  예수께서 [자기의] 제자들에게 말씀하셨다. “그러므로 내가 너희에게 말한다. 목숨을 부지하려고 ‘무엇을 먹을까’ 하고 걱정하지 말고, 몸을 보호하려고 ‘무엇을 입을까’ 하고 걱정하지 말아라. 23 목숨은 음식보다 더 소중하고, 몸은 옷보다 더 소중하다. 24 까마귀를 생각해 보아라. 까마귀는 씨를 뿌리지도 않고, 거두지도 않고, 또 그들에게는 곳간이나 창고도 없다. 그러나 하나님께서 그들을 먹여주신다. 너희는 새보다 훨씬 더 귀하지 않으냐? 25 너희 가운데서 누가 걱정한다고 해서, t제 수명을 한 t순간인들 늘일 수 있느냐? 26 너희가 지극히 작은 일도 못하면서, 어찌하여 다른 일들을 걱정하느냐? 27 t백합꽃이 어떻게 자라는지를 생각해 보아라. 수고도 하지 아니하고, 길쌈도 하지 않는다. 그러나 내가 너희에게 말한다. 자기의 온갖 영화로 차려 입은 솔로몬도 이 꽃 하나만큼 차려 입지 못하였다. 28 믿음이 적은 사람들아, 오늘 들에 있다가 내일 아궁이에 들어갈 풀도 하나님께서 그와 같이 입히시거든, 하물며 너희야 더 잘 입히지 않으시겠느냐? 29 그러므로 너희는, 무엇을 먹을까 무엇을 마실까 하고 찾지 말고, 염려하지 말아라. 30 이런 것은 다 이방 사람들이 추구하는 것이다. 너희 아버지께서는, 이런 것이 너희에게 필요하다는 것을 아신다. 31 그러므로 너희는 t그의 나라를 구하여라. 그리하면 이런 것들을 너희에게 더하여 주실 것이다. 32 두려워하지 말아라. 적은 무리여, 너희 아버지께서 그의 나라를 너희에게 주시기를 기뻐하신다. 33 너희 소유를 팔아서, 자선을 베풀어라. 너희는 자기를 위하여 낡아지지 않는 주머니를 만들고, 하늘에다가 없어지지 않는 재물을 쌓아 두어라. 거기에는 도둑이나 좀의 피해가 없다. 34 너희의 재물이 있는 곳에 너희의 마음도 있을 것이다.”

깨어 기다려야 한다

(마 24:45-51)

35 “너희는 허리에 띠를 띠고 등불을 켜놓고 있어라. 36 마치 주인이 혼인 잔치에서 돌아와서 문을 두드릴 때에, 곧 열어 주려고 대기하고 있는 사람들과 같이 되어라. 37 주인이 와서 종들이 깨어 있는 것을 보면, 그 종들은 복이 있다. 내가 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 그 주인이 허리를 동이고, 그들을 식탁에 앉히고, 곁에 와서 시중들 것이다. 38 주인이 밤중에나 새벽에 오더라도, 종들이 깨어 있는 것을 보면, 그 종들은 복이 있다. 39 너희는 이것을 알아라. 집주인이 언제 도둑이 들지 알았더라면, t그는 도둑이 그 집을 뚫고 들어오도록 내버려두지 않았을 것이다. 40 그러므로 너희도 준비하고 있어라. 생각하지도 않은 때에 인자가 올 것이기 때문이다.” 41  베드로가 말하였다. “주님, 이 비유를 우리에게 말씀하시는 것입니까? 또는 모든 사람에게도 말씀하시는 것입니까?” 42 주님께서 말씀하셨다. “누가 신실하고 슬기로운 청지기겠느냐? 주인이 그에게 자기 종들을 맡기고, 제 때에 양식을 내주라고 시키면, 그는 어떻게 해야 하겠느냐? 43 주인이 돌아와서 볼 때에 그 종이 그렇게 하고 있으면, 그 종은 복이 있다. 44 내가 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 주인은 자기의 모든 재산을 그에게 맡길 것이다. 45 그러나 그 종이 마음 속으로, 주인이 더디 오리라고 생각하여, 남녀 종들을 때리며, 먹고 마시고 취하여 있으면, 46 그가 예상하지 않은 날, 그가 알지 못하는 시각에, 그 주인이 와서, 그 종을 몹시 때리고, 신실하지 않은 자들이 받을 벌을 내릴 것이다. 47 주인의 뜻을 알고도, 준비하지도 않고, 그 뜻대로 행하지도 않은 종은 많이 맞을 것이다. 48 그러나 알지 못하고 매맞을 일을 한 종은, 적게 맞을 것이다. 많이 받은 사람에게는 많은 것을 요구하고, 많이 맡긴 사람에게는 많은 것을 요구한다.”

불을 지르러, 분열을 일으키러 왔다

(마 10:34-36)

49 “나는 세상에다가 불을 지르러 왔다. 불이 이미 붙었으면, 내가 바랄 것이 무엇이 더 있겠느냐? 50 그러나 나는 받아야 할 t세례가 있다. 그 일이 이루어질 때까지, 내가 얼마나 괴로움을 당할는지 모른다. 51 너희는 내가 세상에 평화를 주러 온 줄로 생각하느냐? 내가 너희에게 말한다. 그렇지 않다. 도리어, 분열을 일으키러 왔다. 52 이제부터 한 집안에서 다섯 식구가 서로 갈라져서, 셋이 둘에게 맞서고, 둘이 셋에게 맞설 것이다. 53 아버지가 아들에게 맞서고, 아들이 아버지에게 맞서고, 어머니가 딸에게 맞서고, 딸이 어머니에게 맞서고, 시어머니가 며느리에게 맞서고, 며느리가 시어머니에게 맞서서, 서로 갈라질 것이다.”

때를 분간하여라

(마 16:2-3)

54  예수께서 무리에게도 말씀하셨다. “너희는 구름이 서쪽에서 이는 것을 보면, 소나기가 오겠다고 서슴지 않고 말한다. 그런데 그대로 된다. 55 또 남풍이 불면, 날이 덥겠다고 너희는 말한다. 그런데 그대로 된다. 56 위선자들아, 너희는 땅과 하늘의 기상은 분간할 줄 알면서, 왜, 이 때는 분간하지 못하느냐?”

고소하는 자와 화해하여라

(마 5:25-26)

57 “어찌하여 너희는 옳은 일을 스스로 판단하지 못하느냐? 58 너를 고소하는 사람과 함께 관원에게로 가게 되거든, 너는 도중에 그에게서 풀려나도록 힘써라. 그렇지 않으면, 그가 너를 재판관에게로 끌고 갈 것이고, 재판관은 형무소 관리에게 넘겨주고, 형무소 관리는 너를 옥에 처넣을 것이다. 59 내가 너희에게 말한다. 너희가 그 마지막 한 t푼까지 다 갚기 전에는, 절대로 거기에서 나오지 못할 것이다.”

LUKE 12

Warnings

1  t As thousands of people crowded around Jesus and were stepping on each other, he told his disciples:
Be sure to guard against the dishonest teachingt of the Pharisees! It is their way of fooling people. 2 t Everything that is hidden will be found out, and every secret will be known.

3 Whatever you say in the dark will be heard when it is day. Whatever you whisper in a closed room will be shouted from the housetops.

The One To Fear

(Matthew 10.28-31)

4  t My friends, don't be afraid of people. They can kill you, but after that, there is nothing else they can do.

5 God is the one you must fear. Not only can he take your life, but he can throw you into hell. God is certainly the one you should fear!
6 Five sparrows are sold for only a few cents, but God doesn't forget a single one of them.

7 Even the hairs on your head are counted. So don't be afraid! You are worth much more than many sparrows.

Telling Others about Christ

(Matthew 10.32,33; 12.32; 10.19,20)

8 If you tell others that you belong to me, the Son of Man will tell God's angels that you are my followers. 9 But if you reject me, you will be rejected in front of them.

10 t If you speak against the Son of Man, you can be forgiven, but if you speak against the Holy Spirit, you cannot be forgiven.
11  t When you are brought to trial in the synagogues or before rulers or officials, don't worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say.

12 At that time the Holy Spirit will tell you what to say.

A Rich Fool

13 A man in a crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, tell my brother to give me my share of what our father left us when he died.”

14 Jesus answered, “Who gave me the right to settle arguments between you and your brother?”

15 Then he said to the crowd, “Don't be greedy! Owning a lot of things won't make your life safe.”

16 So Jesus told them this story:
A rich man's farm produced a big crop,

17 and he said to himself, “What can I do? I don't have a place large enough to store everything.”
18 Later, he said, “Now I know what I'll do. I'll tear down my barns and build bigger ones, where I can store all my grain and other goods.

19 t Then I'll say to myself, ‘You have stored up enough good things to last for years to come. Live it up! Eat, drink, and enjoy yourself.’ ”

20 But God said to him, “You fool! Tonight you will die. Then who will get what you have stored up?”

21 “This is what happens to people who store up everything for themselves, but are poor in the sight of God.”

Worry

(Matthew 6.25-34)

22 Jesus said to his disciples:
I tell you not to worry about your life! Don't worry about having something to eat or wear. 23 Life is more than food or clothing. 24 Look at the crows! They don't plant or harvest, and they don't have storehouses or barns. But God takes care of them. You are much more important than any birds. 25 Can worry make you live longer?t

26 If you don't have power over small things, why worry about everything else?
27  t Look how the wild flowers grow! They don't work hard to make their clothes. But I tell you Solomon with all his wealtht wasn't as well clothed as one of these flowers.

28 God gives such beauty to everything that grows in the fields, even though it is here today and thrown into a fire tomorrow. Won't he do even more for you? You have such little faith!
29 Don't keep worrying about having something to eat or drink. 30 Only people who don't know God are always worrying about such things. Your Father knows what you need.

31 But put God's work first, and these things will be yours as well.

Treasures in Heaven

(Matthew 6.19-21)

32 My little group of disciples, don't be afraid! Your Father wants to give you the kingdom. 33 Sell what you have and give the money to the poor. Make yourselves moneybags that never wear out. Make sure your treasure is safe in heaven, where thieves cannot steal it and moths cannot destroy it.

34 Your heart will always be where your treasure is.

Faithful and Unfaithful Servants

(Matthew 24.45-51)

35  t Be ready and keep your lamps burning 36 t just like those servants who wait up for their master to return from a wedding feast. As soon as he comes and knocks, they open the door for him. 37 Servants are fortunate if their master finds them awake and ready when he comes! I promise you he will get ready and let his servants sit down so he can serve them. 38 Those servants are really fortunate if their master finds them ready, even though he comes late at night or early in the morning. 39 t You would surely not let a thief break into your home, if you knew when the thief was coming.

40 So always be ready! You don't know when the Son of Man will come.

41 Peter asked Jesus, “Did you say this just for us or for everyone?”

42 The Lord answered:
Who are faithful and wise servants? Who are the ones the master will put in charge of giving the other servants their food supplies at the proper time? 43 Servants are fortunate if their master comes and finds them doing their job.

44 A servant who is always faithful will surely be put in charge of everything the master owns.
45 But suppose one of the servants thinks that the master won't return until late. Suppose that servant starts beating all the other servants and eats and drinks and gets drunk.

46 If that happens, the master will come on a day and at a time when the servant least expects him. That servant will then be punished and thrown out with the servants who cannot be trusted.
47 If servants are not ready or willing to do what their master wants them to do, they will be beaten hard.

48 But servants who don't know what their master wants them to do will not be beaten so hard for doing wrong. If God has been generous with you, he will expect you to serve him well. But if he has been more than generous, he will expect you to serve him even better.

Not Peace, but Trouble

(Matthew 10.34-36)

49 I came to set fire to the earth, and I wish it were already on fire! 50 t I am going to be put to a hard test. And I will have to suffer a lot of pain until it is over. 51 Do you think that I came to bring peace to earth? No indeed! I came to make people choose sides. 52 A family of five will be divided, with two of them against the other three.

53 t Fathers and sons will turn against one another, and mothers and daughters will do the same. Mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law will also turn against each other.

Knowing What To Do

(Matthew 16.2,3; 5.25,26)

54 Jesus said to all the people:
As soon as you see a cloud coming up in the west, you say, “It's going to rain,” and it does. 55 When the south wind blows, you say, “It's going to get hot,” and it does. 56 Are you trying to fool someone? You can predict the weather by looking at the earth and sky, but you don't really know what's going on right now. 57 Why don't you understand the right thing to do? 58 When someone accuses you of something, try to settle things before you are taken to court. If you don't, you will be dragged before the judge. Then the judge will hand you over to the jailer, and you will be locked up. 59 You won't get out until you have paid the last cent you owe.
