Changer de comportement ou mourir
1 En ce temps-là, quelques personnes vinrent raconter à Jésus comment Pilate avait fait tuer des Galiléens au moment où ils offraient des sacrifices à Dieu. 2 Jésus leur répondit : « Pensez-vous que si ces Galiléens ont été ainsi massacrés, cela signifie qu’ils étaient de plus grands pécheurs que tous les autres Galiléens ? 3 Non, vous dis-je ; mais si vous ne changez pas de comportement, vous mourrez tous comme eux. 4 Et ces dix-huit personnes que la tour de Siloé a écrasées en s’écroulant, pensez-vous qu’elles étaient plus coupables que tous les autres habitants de Jérusalem ?
5 Non, vous dis-je ; mais si vous ne changez pas de comportement, vous mourrez tous comme eux. »La parabole du figuier sans figues
6 Puis Jésus leur dit cette parabole : « Un homme avait un figuier planté dans sa vigne. Il vint y chercher des figues, mais n’en trouva pas. 7 Il dit alors au vigneron : “Regarde : depuis trois ans je viens chercher des figues sur ce figuier et je n’en trouve pas. Coupe-le donc ! Pourquoi occupe-t-il du terrain inutilement ?” 8 Mais le vigneron lui répondit : “Maître, laisse-le cette année encore ; je vais creuser la terre tout autour et j’y mettrai du fumier.
9 Ainsi, il donnera peut-être des figues l’année prochaine ; sinon, tu le feras couper.” »Jésus guérit une femme infirme le jour du sabbat
10 Un jour de sabbat, Jésus enseignait dans une synagogue. 11 Une femme malade se trouvait là : depuis dix-huit ans, un esprit mauvais la tenait courbée et elle était totalement incapable de se redressert. 12 Quand Jésus vit cette femme, il l’appela et lui dit : « Tu es délivrée de ta maladie. » 13 Il posa les mains sur elle et, aussitôt, elle se redressa et se mit à louer Dieu. 14 Mais le chef de la synagogue était indigné de ce que Jésus avait accompli une guérison le jour du sabbat. Il s’adressa alors à la foule : « Il y a six jours pendant lesquels on doit travaillert ; venez donc vous faire guérir ces jours-là et non le jour du sabbat ! » 15 Le Seigneur lui répondit en ces mots : « Hypocrites que vous êtes ! Le jour du sabbat, chacun de vous détache de la crèche son bœuf ou son âne pour le mener boire, n’est-ce pas ? 16 Et cette femme, descendante d’Abraham, que Satan a tenue liée pendant dix-huit ans, ne fallait-il pas la détacher de ses liens le jour du sabbat ? »
17 Cette réponse de Jésus remplit de honte tous ses adversaires ; mais la foule entière se réjouissait de toutes les œuvres magnifiques qu’il accomplissait.La parabole de la graine de moutarde

18 Jésus dit : « A quoi le Royaume de Dieu ressemble-t-il ? A quoi puis-je le comparer ?
19 Il ressemble à une graine de moutarde qu’un homme a prise et mise en terre dans son jardin : elle a poussé, elle est devenue un arbre et les oiseaux ont fait leurs nids dans ses branches. »La parabole du levain

20 Jésus dit encore : « A quoi puis-je comparer le Royaume de Dieu ?
21 Il ressemble au levain qu’une femme prend et mêle à une grande quantité de farine, si bien que toute la pâte lève. »La porte étroite

22 Jésus traversait villes et villages et enseignait en faisant route vers Jérusalem. 23 Quelqu’un lui demanda : « Maître, n’y a-t-il que peu de gens qui seront sauvés ? » Jésus répondit :
24 « Efforcez-vous d’entrer par la porte étroite ; car, je vous l’affirme, beaucoup essayeront d’entrer et ne le pourront pas.
25 « Quand le maître de maison se sera levé et aura fermé la porte à clé, vous vous trouverez dehors, vous vous mettrez à frapper à la porte et à dire : “Maître, ouvre-nous.” Il vous répondra : “Je ne sais pas d’où vous êtes !” 26 Alors, vous allez lui dire : “Nous avons mangé et bu avec toi, tu as enseigné dans les rues de notre ville.” 27 Il vous dira de nouveau : “Je ne sais pas d’où vous êtes. Écartez-vous de moi, vous tous qui commettez le malt !” 28 C’est là que vous pleurerez et grincerez des dents, quand vous verrez Abraham, Isaac, Jacob et tous les prophètes dans le Royaume de Dieu et que vous serez jetés dehors ! 29 Des hommes viendront de l’est et de l’ouest, du nord et du sud et prendront place à table dans le Royaume de Dieu.
30 Et alors, certains de ceux qui sont maintenant les derniers seront les premiers et d’autres qui sont maintenant les premiers seront les derniers. »Jésus et Jérusalem

31 A ce moment-là, quelques Pharisiens s’approchèrent de Jésus et lui dirent : « Pars d’ici, va-t’en ailleurs, car Hérode veut te faire mourir. » 32 Jésus leur répondit : « Allez dire à cette espèce de renard : “Je chasse des esprits mauvais et j’accomplis des guérisons aujourd’hui et demain, et le troisième jour j’achève mon œuvre.”
33 Mais il faut que je continue ma route aujourd’hui, demain et le jour suivant, car il ne convient pas qu’un prophète soit mis à mort ailleurs qu’à Jérusalem.
34 « Jérusalem, Jérusalem, toi qui mets à mort les prophètes et tues à coups de pierres ceux que Dieu t’envoie ! Combien de fois ai-je désiré rassembler tes habitants auprès de moi comme une poule rassemble ses poussins sous ses ailes, mais vous ne l’avez pas voulu ! 35 Eh bien, votre maison va être abandonnée. Je vous le déclare : vous ne me verrez plus jusqu’à ce que vienne le moment où vous direz : “Que Dieu bénisse celui qui vient au nom du Seigneurt !” »

1 Now there were some present at that very season who told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.2 And he answered and said unto them, Think ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they have suffered these things?3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all in like manner perish.4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them, think ye that they were offenders above all the men that dwell in Jerusalem?5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.6 And he spake this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came seeking fruit thereon, and found none.7 And he said unto the vinedresser, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why doth it also cumber the ground?8 And he answering saith unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:9 and if it bear fruit thenceforth, well; but if not, thou shalt cut it down.10 And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath day.11 And behold, a woman that had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years; and she was bowed together, and could in no wise lift herself up.12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her, and said to her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.13 And he laid his hands upon her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.14 And the ruler of the synagogue, being moved with indignation because Jesus had healed on the sabbath, answered and said to the multitude, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the day of the sabbath.15 But the Lord answered him, and said, Ye hypocrites, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan had bound, lo, these eighteen years, to have been loosed from this bond on the day of the sabbath?17 And as he said these things, all his adversaries were put to shame: and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.18 He said therefore, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I liken it?19 It is like unto a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his own garden; and it grew, and became a tree; and the birds of the heaven lodged in the branches thereof.20 And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God?21 It is like unto leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till it was all leavened.22 And he went on his way through cities and villages, teaching, and journeying on unto Jerusalem.23 And one said unto him, Lord, are they few that are saved? And he said unto them,24 Strive to enter in by the narrow door: for many, I say unto you, shall seek to enter in, and shall not be able.25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, open to us; and he shall answer and say to you, I know you not whence ye are;26 then shall ye begin to say, We did eat and drink in thy presence, and thou didst teach in our streets;27 and he shall say, I tell you, I know not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.28 There shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and yourselves cast forth without.29 And they shall come from the east and west, and from the north and south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.30 And behold, there are last who shall be first, and there are first who shall be last.31 In that very hour there came certain Pharisees, saying to him, Get thee out, and go hence: for Herod would fain kill thee.32 And he said unto them, Go and say to that fox, Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures to-day and to-morrow, and the third day I am perfected.33 Nevertheless I must go on my way to-day and to-morrow and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killeth the prophets, and stoneth them that are sent unto her! how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her own brood under her wings, and ye would not!35 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
