Luca 13

Chemare la pocăință

1 În acea vreme au sosit unii și I-au istorisit lui Isus despre galileenii al căror sânge îl amestecase Pilat cu jertfele lor.2 El le-a răspuns: „Credeți că acei galileeni au fost mai păcătoși decât ceilalți galileeni, pentru că au suferit aceste lucruri?3 Vă spun că nu! Dar dacă nu vă pocăiți, toți veți pieri într-un fel asemănător!4 Sau credeți că acei optsprezece peste care a căzut turnul Siloamului și i-a omorât au fost mai vinovați decât toți ceilalți oameni care locuiesc în Ierusalim?5 Vă spun că nu! Ci dacă nu vă pocăiți, toți veți pieri într-un fel asemănătort!“

6 Apoi le-a spus această pildă:
„Un om avea un smochin plantat în via sa. A venit să caute roade în el, dar n-a găsit.

7 Atunci i-a zis vierului:
– Iată că sunt deja trei ani de când vin și caut roade în acest smochin, dar nu găsesc! Taie-l (deci)t! De ce să mai ocupe pământul degeaba?!

8 Însă acesta i-a răspuns:
– Stăpâne, mai lasă-l și anul acesta, iar eu voi săpa în jurul lui și îi voi pune gunoi.9 Poate că, de acum înainte, va face roade; dacă nu, îl vei tăia!“

Vindecarea unei femei într-o zi de Sabat

10 Într-o zi de Sabat, Isus dădea învățătură într-una din sinagogi.11 Și iată că acolo era o femeie care de optsprezece ani avea un duh de neputință; ea era încovoiată și nu se putea îndrepta pe deplin.12 Când a văzut-o, Isus a chemat-o și i-a zis: „Femeie, ești eliberată de neputința ta!“13 Și-a întins mâinile peste ea și deodată ea s-a îndreptat și-L slăvea pe Dumnezeu.

14 Însă conducătorul sinagogii, indignat că Isus a vindecat în ziua de Sabat, a zis mulțimii: „Sunt șase zile în care trebuie să se lucreze. Veniți deci în acele zile să fiți vindecați, nu în ziua de Sabat!“

15 Dar Domnul i-a răspuns și a zis: „Ipocriților! Care dintre voi nu-și dezleagă boul sau măgarul de la iesle și nu-l duce să-l adape în ziua de Sabat?!16 Această femeie, care este o fiică a lui Avraam și pe care, iată, Satan a ținut-o legată timp de optsprezece ani, nu trebuia oare să fie dezlegată de această neputință în ziua de Sabat?“

17 Toți potrivnicii Lui au rămas de rușine când a zis aceste lucruri. Și întreaga mulțime se bucura de toate lucrurile minunate care se înfăptuiau prin El.

Pilda bobului de muștar și a drojdiei

18 Apoi a zis:
„Cu ce seamănă Împărăția lui Dumnezeu și cu ce o voi asemăna?19 Ea este ca un bob de muștar pe care l-a luat un om și l-a aruncat în grădina lui. El a crescut și a devenit un copac, iar păsările cerului și-au făcut cuiburi între ramurile lui.“

20 El a zis iarăși:
„Cu ce voi asemăna Împărăția lui Dumnezeu?21 Ea este ca drojdia pe care o ia o femeie și o pune în trei măsurit de făină și care , până la urmă, face să dospească tot aluatul .“

Intrarea în Împărăție

22 Isus trecea prin cetăți și prin sate, dând învățătură și continuându-și călătoria spre Ierusalim.

23 Cineva L-a întrebat: „Doamne, numai câțiva vor fi mântuiți?“
El le-a zis:24 „Străduiți-vă să intrați pe ușa cea îngustă, căci vă spun că mulți vor încerca să intre, dar nu vor putea.25 Odată ce Stăpânul casei se va ridica și va încuia ușa, voi, stând afară, veți începe să bateți la ușă și să ziceți: «Doamne, deschide-ne!», însă El vă va răspunde: «Nu știu de unde sunteți!»26 Atunci veți începe să ziceți: «Noi am mâncat și am băut înaintea Ta, și pe străzile noastre ai dat Tu învățătură!»27 Dar El va răspunde: «Vă spun că nu știu de unde sunteți! Plecați de la Mine, voi, toți lucrătorii nedreptății!»

28 Va fi plânsul și scrâșnirea dinților când îi veți vedea pe Avraam, pe Isaac, pe Iacov și pe toți profeții în Împărăția lui Dumnezeu, iar pe voi aruncați afară!29 Vor veni de la răsărit și de la apus, de la nord și de la sud și se vor așeza la masă în Împărăția lui Dumnezeu!30 Și iată că sunt unii din cei de pe urmă care vor fi cei dintâi și sunt unii din cei dintâi care vor fi cei din urmă.“

31 Chiar în ceasul acela au venit câțiva dintre farisei și I-au zis:
– Pleacă și du-te de aici, căci Irod vrea să Te omoare!

32 El le-a răspuns:
– Duceți-vă și spuneți-i acelei vulpi: iată că scot demoni și înfăptuiesc vindecări azi și mâine, iar a treia zi voi termina.33 Trebuie însă ca azi, mâine și poimâine să-Mi continui drumul, pentru că nu se poate ca un profet să piară afară din Ierusalim!

34 Ierusalime, Ierusalime, care-i omori pe profeți și-i ucizi cu pietre pe cei trimiși la tine! De-atâtea ori am vrut să-ți adun copiii așa cum își adună cloșca puii sub aripi, dar n-ați vrut!35 Iată însă că vi se lasă casa pustie! Vă spun că nu Mă veți mai vedea până (va veni vremea când)t veți zice: „Binecuvântat este Cel Ce vine în Numele Domnului!“t

LUKE 13

Turn Back to God

1 About this same time Jesus was told that Pilate had given orders for some people from Galilee to be killed while they were offering sacrifices.

2 Jesus replied:
Do you think that these people were worse sinners than everyone else in Galilee just because of what happened to them? 3 Not at all! But you can be sure that if you don't turn back to God, every one of you will also be killed. 4 What about those 18 people who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them? Do you think they were worse than everyone else in Jerusalem?

5 Not at all! But you can be sure that if you don't turn back to God, every one of you will also die.

A Story about a Fig Tree

6 Jesus then told them this story:
A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard. One day he went out to pick some figs, but he didn't find any.

7 So he said to the gardener, “For three years I have come looking for figs on this tree, and I haven't found any yet. Chop it down! Why should it take up space?”
8 The gardener answered, “Master, leave it for another year. I'll dig around it and put some manure on it to make it grow.

9 Maybe it will have figs on it next year. If it doesn't, you can have it cut down.”

Healing a Woman //on the Sabbath

13 He placed his hands on her, and at once she stood up straight and praised God.

14  t The man in charge of the synagogue was angry because Jesus had healed someone on the Sabbath. So he said to the people, “Each week has six days when we can work. Come and be healed on one of those days, but not on the Sabbath.”
15 The Lord replied, “Are you trying to fool someone? Won't any one of you untie your ox or donkey and lead it out to drink on a Sabbath? 16 This woman belongs to the family of Abraham, but Satan has kept her bound for 18 years. Isn't it right to set her free on the Sabbath?”

17 Jesus' words made his enemies ashamed. But everyone else in the crowd was happy about the wonderful things he was doing.

A Mustard Seed and Yeast

(Matthew 13.31-33; Mark 4.30-32)

19 It is like what happens when someone plants a mustard seed in a garden. The seed grows as big as a tree, and birds nest in its branches.”
20 Then Jesus said, “What can I compare God's kingdom with?

21 It is like what happens when a woman mixes yeast into three batches of flour. Finally, all the dough rises.”

The Narrow Door

(Matthew 7.13,14,21-23)

23 Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?”
Jesus answered:
24 Do all you can to go in by the narrow door! A lot of people will try to get in, but will not be able to.

25 Once the owner of the house gets up and locks the door, you will be left standing outside. You will knock on the door and say, “Sir, open the door for us!”
But the owner will answer, “I don't know a thing about you! ”

26 Then you will start saying, “We dined with you, and you taught in our streets.”

27  t But he will say, “I really don't know who you are! Get away from me, you evil people!”
28  t t Then when you have been thrown outside, you will weep and grit your teeth because you will see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in God's kingdom. 29 People will come from all directions and sit down to feast in God's kingdom.

30 t There the ones who are now least important will be the most important, and those who are now most important will be least important.

Jesus and Herod

31 At that time some Pharisees came to Jesus and said, “You had better get away from here, because Herodt wants to kill you!”

32 Jesus said to them:
Go tell that fox, “I am going to force out demons and heal people today and tomorrow, and three days later I'll be through.”

33 But I am going on my way today and tomorrow and the next day. After all, Jerusalem is the place where prophets are killed.

Jesus Loves Jerusalem

(Matthew 23.37-39)

35 t Now your temple will be deserted. You won't see me again until the time when you say,
“Blessed is the one who comes
in the name of the Lord.”
