Luca 16

Pilda administratorului nedrept

1 Apoi le-a zis ucenicilor:
„Un om bogat avea un administrator care a fost acuzat că-i risipește averea.2 El l-a chemat și i-a zis: «Ce înseamnă lucrul acesta pe care-l aud despre tine? Dă socoteală de administrația ta, pentru că nu mai poți fi administrator!»3 Administratorul și-a zis: «Ce-o să fac, pentru că stăpânul îmi va lua slujba de administrator? Să sap – nu sunt în stare, iar să cerșesc – mi-ar fi rușine.4 Știu ce-o să fac, pentru ca, atunci când voi fi scos din administrație, ei să mă primească în casele lor!»

5 I-a chemat unul câte unul pe datornicii stăpânului său și i-a zis primului:
– Cât îi datorezi stăpânului meu?

6 Acela i-a răspuns:
– O sută de bațit de untdelemn.
El i-a zis:
– Ia-ți chitanța, așază-te repede și scrie cincizeci!

7 A zis apoi altuia:
– Dar tu, cât îi datorezi?
Acela i-a răspuns:
– O sută de corit de grâu.
El i-a zis:
– Ia-ți chitanța și scrie optzeci!
8 Stăpânul l-a lăudat pe administratorul nedrept, deoarece lucrase cu iscusință.t Căci fiii acestui veac sunt mai isteți față de propria lor generație, decât fiii luminii.

9 Și Eu vă spun: faceți-vă prieteni cu ajutorul bogățiilort nedrepte, pentru ca, atunci când ele vor înceta să mai fie, aceștia să vă primească în corturile veșnice!10 Cine este credincios în lucrul cel mai mic este credincios și în cel mare, și cine este nedrept în lucrul cel mai mic este nedrept și în cel mare.11 Așadar, dacă n-ați fost credincioși în ce privește bogățiile nedrepte, cine vă va încredința adevăratele bogății ?!12 Și dacă n-ați fost credincioși în lucrul altuia, cine vă va da ce este al vostru?!13 Nici un slujitor nu poate sluji la doi stăpâni: căci ori îl va urî pe unul și-l va iubi pe celălalt, ori îi va fi devotat unuia, și-l va disprețui pe celălalt. Nu puteți sluji și lui Dumnezeu, și Bogăției!“

14 Fariseii, care erau iubitori de bani, au auzit toate acestea și își băteau joc de El.15 El însă le-a zis: „Voi încercați să vă îndreptățiți pe voi înșivă înaintea oamenilor, dar Dumnezeu vă cunoaște inimile! Căci ce este înălțat între oameni este o urâciune înaintea lui Dumnezeu.

Alte învățături

16 Legea și Profeții au ținut până la Ioan: de atunci se vestește Evanghelia Împărăției lui Dumnezeu și fiecare dă buzna în ea!17 Este mai ușor să treacă cerul și pământul decât să cadă o parte a vreunei literet a Legii!

18 Oricine divorțează de soția lui și se căsătorește cu o altă femeie comite adulter, iar cel care se căsătorește cu o femeie divorțată de soțul ei comite și el adulter.

Bogatul și Lazăr

19 Era un om bogat, care se îmbrăca în purpură și in subțire și care în fiecare zi se bucura de lux.20 La poarta lui zăcea un om sărac, al cărui nume era Lazăr și care era plin de bube.21 El dorea mult să se sature cu firimiturile care cădeau de la masa bogatului. Până și câinii veneau și-i lingeau bubele.22 Săracul a murit și a fost dus de îngeri în sânul lui Avraamt. A murit apoi și bogatul și a fost înmormântat.23 În Locuința Morțilort, unde se afla în chinuri, și-a ridicat ochii și l-a văzut de departe pe Avraam și pe Lazăr în sânul acestuia.

24 El a strigat:
– Părinte Avraam, ai milă de mine și trimite-l pe Lazăr să-și umezească vârful degetului în apă și să-mi răcorească limba, căci sunt atât de chinuit în flacăra aceasta!

25 Însă Avraam i-a răspuns:
– Copile, adu-ți aminte că în timpul vieții tale, tu ai primit lucrurile bune, iar Lazăr le-a primit pe cele rele, așa că acum, aici, el este mângâiat, iar tu suferi.26 Pe lângă toate acestea, între noi și voi a fost pusă o prăpastie mare, astfel încât cei ce vor să treacă de aici la voi, să nu poată, și nici cei de acolo să nu poată trece la noi.

27 El a zis:
– Atunci, te rog, părinte, să-l trimiți în casa tatălui meu,28 căci am cinci frați, ca să le mărturisească aceste lucruri, așa încât să nu vină și ei în locul acesta de chin!

29 Avraam i-a răspuns:
– Îl au pe Moise și pe Profețit; să asculte de ei!

30 Dar el a zis:
– Nu, părinte Avraam, ci dacă se va duce la ei cineva dintre cei morți, se vor pocăi!

31 Însă Avraam i-a răspuns:
– Dacă nu ascultă de Moise și de Profeți, nu vor fi convinși nici dacă ar învia cineva dintre cei morți!“

LUKE 16

A Dishonest Manager

1 Jesus said to his disciples:
A rich man once had a manager to take care of his business. But he was told that his manager was wasting money.

2 So the rich man called him in and said, “What is this I hear about you? Tell me what you have done! You are no longer going to work for me.”
3 The manager said to himself, “What shall I do now that my master is going to fire me? I can't dig ditches, and I'm ashamed to beg.

4 I know what I'll do, so that people will welcome me into their homes after I've lost my job.”

5 Then one by one he called in the people who were in debt to his master. He asked the first one, “How much do you owe my master?”

6 “A hundred barrels of olive oil,” the man answered.
So the manager said, “Take your bill and sit down and quickly write ‘50.’ ”

7 The manager asked someone else who was in debt to his master, “How much do you owe?”
“A thousand sackst of wheat,” the man replied.
The manager said, “Take your bill and write ‘800.’ ”

8 The master praised his dishonest manager for looking out for himself so well. That's how it is! The people of this world look out for themselves better than the people who belong to the light.
9  t My disciples, I tell you to use wicked wealth to make friends for yourselves. Then when it is gone, you will be welcomed into an eternal home. 10 Anyone who can be trusted in little matters can also be trusted in important matters. But anyone who is dishonest in little matters will be dishonest in important matters. 11 If you cannot be trusted with this wicked wealth, who will trust you with true wealth? 12 And if you cannot be trusted with what belongs to someone else, who will give you something that will be your own?

13 t You cannot be the slave of two masters. You will like one more than the other or be more loyal to one than to the other. You cannot serve God and money.

Some Sayings of Jesus

(Matthew 11.12,13; 5.31,32; Mark 10.11,12)

15 But Jesus told them:
You are always making yourselves look good, but God sees what is in your heart. The things that most people think are important are worthless as far as God is concerned.
16  t Until the time of John the Baptist, people had to obey the Law of Moses and the Books of the Prophets.t But since God's kingdom has been preached, everyone is trying hard to get in.

17 t Heaven and earth will disappear before the smallest letter of the Law does.

18  t It is a terrible sint for a man to divorce his wife and marry another woman. It is also a terrible sin for a man to marry a divorced woman.

Lazarus and the Rich Man

22 t The poor man died, and angels took him to the place of honor next to Abraham.t
The rich man also died and was buried. 23 t He went to hellt and was suffering terribly. When he looked up and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side,

24 he said to Abraham, “Have pity on me! Send Lazarus to dip his finger in water and touch my tongue. I'm suffering terribly in this fire.”
25 Abraham answered, “My friend, remember that while you lived, you had everything good, and Lazarus had everything bad. Now he is happy, and you are in pain.

26 And besides, there is a deep ditch between us, and no one from either side can cross over.”
27 But the rich man said, “Abraham, then please send Lazarus to my father's home.

28 Let him warn my five brothers, so they won't come to this horrible place.”

29 Abraham answered, “Your brothers can read what Moses and the prophetst wrote. They should pay attention to that.”

30 Then the rich man said, “No, that's not enough! If only someone from the dead would go to them, they would listen and turn to God.”
31 So Abraham said, “If they won't pay attention to Moses and the prophets, they won't listen even to someone who comes back from the dead.”
