Parábola de la viuda y el juez injusto
1 También les refirió Jesús una parábola sobre la necesidad de orar siempre, y no desmayar, 2 diciendo: Había en una ciudad un juez, que ni temía a Dios, ni respetaba a hombre. 3 Había también en aquella ciudad una viuda, la cual venía a él, diciendo: Hazme justicia de mi adversario. 4 Y él no quiso por algún tiempo; pero después de esto dijo dentro de sí: Aunque ni temo a Dios, ni tengo respeto a hombre, 5 sin embargo, porque esta viuda me es molesta, le haré justicia, no sea que viniendo de continuo, me agote la paciencia. 6 Y dijo el Señor: Oíd lo que dijo el juez injusto. 7 ¿Y acaso Dios no hará justicia a sus escogidos, que claman a él día y noche? ¿Se tardará en responderles?
8 Os digo que pronto les hará justicia. Pero cuando venga el Hijo del Hombre, ¿hallará fe en la tierra?Parábola del fariseo y el publicano
9 A unos que confiaban en sí mismos como justos, y menospreciaban a los otros, dijo también esta parábola: 10 Dos hombres subieron al templo a orar: uno era fariseo, y el otro publicano. 11 El fariseo, puesto en pie, oraba consigo mismo de esta manera: Dios, te doy gracias porque no soy como los otros hombres, ladrones, injustos, adúlteros, ni aun como este publicano; 12 ayuno dos veces a la semana, doy diezmos de todo lo que gano. 13 Mas el publicano, estando lejos, no quería ni aun alzar los ojos al cielo, sino que se golpeaba el pecho, diciendo: Dios, sé propicio a mí, pecador.
14 Os digo que éste descendió a su casa justificado antes que el otro; porque cualquiera que se enaltece, será humillado; y el que se humilla será enaltecido.tJesús bendice a los niños

15 Traían a él los niños para que los tocase; lo cual viendo los discípulos, les reprendieron. 16 Mas Jesús, llamándolos, dijo: Dejad a los niños venir a mí, y no se lo impidáis; porque de los tales es el reino de Dios.
17 De cierto os digo, que el que no recibe el reino de Dios como un niño, no entrará en él.El joven rico

18 Un hombre principal le preguntó, diciendo: Maestro bueno, ¿qué haré para heredar la vida eterna? 19 Jesús le dijo: ¿Por qué me llamas bueno? Ninguno hay bueno, sino sólo Dios. 20 Los mandamientos sabes: No adulterarás;t no matarás;t no hurtarás;t no dirás falso testimonio;t honra a tu padre y a tu madre.t 21 Él dijo: Todo esto lo he guardado desde mi juventud. 22 Jesús, oyendo esto, le dijo: Aún te falta una cosa: vende todo lo que tienes, y dalo a los pobres, y tendrás tesoro en el cielo; y ven, sígueme. 23 Entonces él, oyendo esto, se puso muy triste, porque era muy rico. 24 Al ver Jesús que se había entristecido mucho, dijo: ¡Cuán difícilmente entrarán en el reino de Dios los que tienen riquezas! 25 Porque es más fácil pasar un camello por el ojo de una aguja, que entrar un rico en el reino de Dios. 26 Y los que oyeron esto dijeron: ¿Quién, pues, podrá ser salvo? 27 Él les dijo: Lo que es imposible para los hombres, es posible para Dios. 28 Entonces Pedro dijo: He aquí, nosotros hemos dejado nuestras posesiones y te hemos seguido. 29 Y él les dijo: De cierto os digo, que no hay nadie que haya dejado casa, o padres, o hermanos, o mujer, o hijos, por el reino de Dios,
30 que no haya de recibir mucho más en este tiempo, y en el siglo venidero la vida eterna.Nuevamente Jesús anuncia su muerte

31 Tomando Jesús a los doce, les dijo: He aquí subimos a Jerusalén, y se cumplirán todas las cosas escritas por los profetas acerca del Hijo del Hombre. 32 Pues será entregado a los gentiles, y será escarnecido, y afrentado, y escupido. 33 Y después que le hayan azotado, le matarán; mas al tercer día resucitará.
34 Pero ellos nada comprendieron de estas cosas, y esta palabra les era encubierta, y no entendían lo que se les decía.Un ciego de Jericó recibe la vista

35 Aconteció que acercándose Jesús a Jericó, un ciego estaba sentado junto al camino mendigando; 36 y al oír a la multitud que pasaba, preguntó qué era aquello. 37 Y le dijeron que pasaba Jesús nazareno. 38 Entonces dio voces, diciendo: ¡Jesús, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí! 39 Y los que iban delante le reprendían para que callase; pero él clamaba mucho más: ¡Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí! 40 Jesús entonces, deteniéndose, mandó traerle a su presencia; y cuando llegó, le preguntó, 41 diciendo: ¿Qué quieres que te haga? Y él dijo: Señor, que reciba la vista. 42 Jesús le dijo: Recíbela, tu fe te ha salvado. 43 Y luego vio, y le seguía, glorificando a Dios; y todo el pueblo, cuando vio aquello, dio alabanza a Dios.
LUKE 18
A Widow and a Judge
1 Jesus told his disciples a story about how they should keep on praying and never give up:
2 In a town there was once a judge who didn't fear God or care about people.
3 In that same town there was a widow who kept going to the judge and saying, “Make sure that I get fair treatment in court.”
4 For a while the judge refused to do anything. Finally, he said to himself, “Even though I don't fear God or care about people,
5 I will help this widow because she keeps on bothering me. If I don't help her, she will wear me out.”
6 The Lord said:
Think about what that crooked judge said. 7 t Won't God protect his chosen ones who pray to him day and night? Won't he be concerned for them?
8 He will surely hurry and help them. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find on this earth anyone with faith?A Pharisee //and a Tax Collector
9 Jesus told a story to some people who thought they were better than others and who looked down on everyone else:
10 Two men went into the temple to pray.t One was a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.t 11 The Pharisee stood over by himself and prayed, t “God, I thank you that I am not greedy, dishonest, and unfaithful in marriage like other people. And I am really glad that I am not like that tax collector over there.
12 I go without eatingt for two days a week, and I give you one tenth of all I earn.”
13 t The tax collector stood off at a distance and did not think he was good enough even to look up toward heaven. He was so sorry for what he had done that he pounded his chest and prayed, “God, have pity on me! I am such a sinner.”
14 t Then Jesus said, “When the two men went home, it was the tax collector and not the Pharisee who was pleasing to God. If you put yourself above others, you will be put down. But if you humble yourself, you will be honored.”Jesus Blesses Little Children
(Matthew 19.13-15; Mark 10.13-16)
15 Some people brought their little children for Jesus to bless. But when his disciples saw them doing this, they told the people to stop bothering him. 16 So Jesus called the children over to him and said, “Let the children come to me! Don't try to stop them. People who are like these children belong to God's kingdom.t
17 You will never get into God's kingdom unless you enter it like a child!”A Rich and Important Man
(Matthew 19.16-30; Mark 10.17-31)
18 An important man asked Jesus, “Good Teacher, what must I do to have eternal life?”
19 Jesus said, “Why do you call me good? Only God is good.
20 t You know the commandments: ‘Be faithful in marriage. Do not murder. Do not steal. Do not tell lies about others. Respect your father and mother.’ ”
21 He told Jesus, “I have obeyed all these commandments since I was a young man.”
22 When Jesus heard this, he said, “There is one thing you still need to do. Go and sell everything you own! Give the money to the poor, and you will have riches in heaven. Then come and be my follower.”
23 When the man heard this, he was sad, because he was very rich.
24 Jesus saw how sad the man was. So he said, “It's terribly hard for rich people to get into God's kingdom!
25 In fact, it's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to get into God's kingdom.”
26 When the crowd heard this, they asked, “How can anyone ever be saved?”
27 Jesus replied, “There are some things that people cannot do, but God can do anything.”
28 Peter said, “Remember, we left everything to be your followers!”
29 Jesus answered, “You can be sure that anyone who gives up home or wife or brothers or family or children because of God's kingdom
30 will be given much more in this life. And in the future world they will have eternal life.”Jesus Again Tells about //His Death
(Matthew 20.17-19; Mark 10.32-34)
31 Jesus took the twelve apostles aside and said:
We are now on our way to Jerusalem. Everything that the prophets wrote about the Son of Man will happen there. 32 He will be handed over to foreigners, t who will make fun of him, mistreat him, and spit on him.
33 They will beat him and kill him, but three days later he will rise to life.
34 The apostles did not understand what Jesus was talking about. They could not understand, because the meaning of what he said was hidden from them.Jesus Heals a Blind Beggar
(Matthew 20.29-34; Mark 10.46-52)
35 When Jesus was coming close to Jericho, a blind man sat begging beside the road. 36 The man heard the crowd walking by and asked what was happening. 37 Some people told him that Jesus from Nazareth was passing by. 38 So the blind man shouted, “Jesus, Son of David, t have pity on me!”
39 The people who were going along with Jesus told the man to be quiet. But he shouted even louder, “Son of David, have pity on me!”
40 Jesus stopped and told some people to bring the blind man over to him. When the blind man was getting near, Jesus asked,
41 “What do you want me to do for you?”
“Lord, I want to see!” he answered.
42 Jesus replied, “Look and you will see! Your eyes are healed because of your faith.” 43 At once the man could see, and he went with Jesus and started thanking God. When the crowds saw what happened, they praised God.
