Luca 18

Pilda văduvei stăruitoare

1 Le-a spus apoi o pildă despre faptul că trebuie să se roage întotdeauna și să nu se descurajeze:

2 El le-a zis:
„Într-o cetate era un judecător care de Dumnezeu nu se temea și de oameni nu-i era rușine.3 În cetatea aceea era și o văduvă care tot venea la el și-i zicea: «Fă-mi dreptate în procesul cu potrivnicul meu!»4 Pentru o vreme n-a vrut să-i facă dreptate , dar după aceea și-a zis: «Chiar dacă nu mă tem de Dumnezeu și nici de oameni nu mi-e rușine,5 totuși, pentru că această văduvă mă tot necăjește, îi voi face dreptate, ca să nu mai vină întruna și să mă bată la cap!»“

6 Apoi Domnul a zis: „Auziți ce zice judecătorul cel nedrept?7 Și oare Dumnezeu nu le va face dreptate aleșilor Săi, care strigă zi și noapte către El, măcar că întârzie față de ei?!8 Vă spun că le va face dreptate foarte curând! Dar când va veni Fiului Omului, va găsi El oare credință pe pământ?“

Pilda fariseului și a colectorului de taxe

9 A mai spus și următoarea pildă pentru unii care se încredeau în ei înșiși că sunt drepți și îi disprețuiau pe ceilalți:

10 „Doi oameni s-au dus la Templu să se roage; unul era fariseu, iar celălalt era colector de taxe.11 Fariseul stătea în picioare și se ruga înt sine însuși astfel: «Dumnezeule, Îți mulțumesc că eu nu sunt ca ceilalți oameni – tâlhari, nedrepți, adulteri – și nici chiar ca acest colector de taxe!12 Eu postesc de două ori pe săptămânăt și dau zeciuială din tot ceea ce câștig!»13 Colectorul de taxe însă stătea la distanță și nu îndrăznea nici măcar să-și ridice ochii spre cer, ci se bătea pe piept, zicând: «Dumnezeule, îndură-te de mine, păcătosul!»14 Eu vă spun că mai degrabă acesta s-a dus acasă socotit drept, decât celălalt. Căci oricine se înalță pe sine va fi smerit, iar cel ce se smerește va fi înălțat!“

Isus și copilașii

15 I-au adus și niște copilași ca să se atingă de eit, dar ucenicii, când au văzut aceasta, i-au mustrat pe cei care i-au adus .16 Isus însă i-a chemat la Sine pe copilași și a zis: „Lăsați copilașii să vină la Mine și nu-i opriți, pentru că Împărăția lui Dumnezeu este a celor ca ei!17 Adevărat vă spun că cel care nu primește Împărăția lui Dumnezeu ca un copilaș, cu nici un chip nu va intra în ea!“

Isus și conducătorul bogat

18 Un conducător L-a întrebat:
– Bunule Învățător, ce să fac ca să moștenesc viață veșnică?

19 Isus i-a răspuns:
– De ce Mă numești „bun“? Nimeni nu este bun decât Unul: Dumnezeu!20 Cunoști poruncile: „Să nu comiți adulter“, „Să nu ucizi“, „Să nu furi“, „Să nu depui mărturie falsă“, „Cinstește-l pe tatăl tău și pe mama ta.“

21 El I-a spus:
– Pe toate acestea le-am împlinit încă din tinerețea meat.

22 Când a auzit aceasta, Isus i-a zis:
– Îți mai lipsește un lucru: vinde tot ce ai și împarte săracilor, și vei avea astfel o comoară în cer. Apoi vino, urmează-Mă!

23 Când a auzit el aceste lucruri , s-a întristat foarte tare, pentru că era foarte bogat.

24 Isus a văzut (că se întristase foarte tare)t și a zis:
– Cât de greu este pentru cei ce au bogății să intre în Împărăția lui Dumnezeu!25 Căci este mai ușor să treacă o cămilă prin urechile acului, decât să intre cel bogat în Împărăția lui Dumnezeu!

26 Cei ce au auzit aceasta s -au întrebat: „Atunci cine poate fi mântuit?“

27 El a zis:
– Ceea ce este imposibil pentru oameni, este posibil pentru Dumnezeu.

28 Atunci Petru I-a zis:
– Iată, noi le-am lăsat pe ale noastre și Te-am urmat!

29 El le-a răspuns:
– Adevărat vă spun că nu este nimeni care să-și fi lăsat casa sau soția, sau frații, sau părinții, sau copiii de dragul Împărăției lui Dumnezeu30 și care să nu primească mult mai mult în vremea aceasta, iar în veacul care vine – viață veșnică.

Isus vorbește din nou despre moartea și învierea Sa

31 Apoi i-a luat deoparte pe cei doisprezece și le-a zis: „Iată că ne îndreptăm spre Ierusalim și toate cele scrise prin profeți despre Fiul Omului se vor împlini.32 Căci El va fi dat pe mâna neamurilor, va fi batjocorit, insultat, scuipat33 și, după ce-L vor biciui, Îl vor omorî, dar a treia zi va învia.“34 Ei n-au înțeles nimic din aceste lucruri; vorbirea aceasta era ascunsă de ei și nu pricepeau ce li se spunea.

Isus vindecă un orb lângă Ierihon

35 În timp ce Isus Se apropia de Ierihon, un orb ședea lângă drum cerșind.36 Când a auzit mulțimea trecând, orbul a întrebat ce se întâmplă.37 I-au spus că trece Isus din Nazaret.

38 Atunci el a început să strige:
– Isuse, Fiul lui Davidt, ai milă de mine!

39 Cei ce mergeau în față îl mustrau spunându -i să tacă, dar el striga și mai tare:
– Fiul lui David, ai milă de mine!

40 Isus S-a oprit și a poruncit să fie adus la El. Când orbul s-a apropiat, Isus l-a întrebat:

41 – Ce vrei să fac pentru tine?
El I-a răspuns:
– Doamne, să-mi recapăt vederea!

42 Isus a zis:
– Recapătă-ți vederea; credința ta te-a vindecatt!

43 Imediat el și-a recăpătat vederea și L-a urmat pe Isus, slăvindu-L pe Dumnezeu. Tot poporul care văzuse acest lucru a dat laudă lui Dumnezeu.

LUKE 18

A Widow and a Judge

1 Jesus told his disciples a story about how they should keep on praying and never give up:
2 In a town there was once a judge who didn't fear God or care about people.

3 In that same town there was a widow who kept going to the judge and saying, “Make sure that I get fair treatment in court.”
4 For a while the judge refused to do anything. Finally, he said to himself, “Even though I don't fear God or care about people,

5 I will help this widow because she keeps on bothering me. If I don't help her, she will wear me out.”

6 The Lord said:
Think about what that crooked judge said. 7 t Won't God protect his chosen ones who pray to him day and night? Won't he be concerned for them?

8 He will surely hurry and help them. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find on this earth anyone with faith?

A Pharisee //and a Tax Collector

9 Jesus told a story to some people who thought they were better than others and who looked down on everyone else:
10 Two men went into the temple to pray.t One was a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.t 11 The Pharisee stood over by himself and prayed, t “God, I thank you that I am not greedy, dishonest, and unfaithful in marriage like other people. And I am really glad that I am not like that tax collector over there.

12 I go without eatingt for two days a week, and I give you one tenth of all I earn.”

13  t The tax collector stood off at a distance and did not think he was good enough even to look up toward heaven. He was so sorry for what he had done that he pounded his chest and prayed, “God, have pity on me! I am such a sinner.”

14  t Then Jesus said, “When the two men went home, it was the tax collector and not the Pharisee who was pleasing to God. If you put yourself above others, you will be put down. But if you humble yourself, you will be honored.”

Jesus Blesses Little Children

(Matthew 19.13-15; Mark 10.13-16)

17 You will never get into God's kingdom unless you enter it like a child!”

A Rich and Important Man

(Matthew 19.16-30; Mark 10.17-31)

18 An important man asked Jesus, “Good Teacher, what must I do to have eternal life?”
19 Jesus said, “Why do you call me good? Only God is good.

20 t You know the commandments: ‘Be faithful in marriage. Do not murder. Do not steal. Do not tell lies about others. Respect your father and mother.’ ”

21 He told Jesus, “I have obeyed all these commandments since I was a young man.”
22 When Jesus heard this, he said, “There is one thing you still need to do. Go and sell everything you own! Give the money to the poor, and you will have riches in heaven. Then come and be my follower.”

23 When the man heard this, he was sad, because he was very rich.
24 Jesus saw how sad the man was. So he said, “It's terribly hard for rich people to get into God's kingdom!

25 In fact, it's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to get into God's kingdom.”

26 When the crowd heard this, they asked, “How can anyone ever be saved?”

27 Jesus replied, “There are some things that people cannot do, but God can do anything.”

28 Peter said, “Remember, we left everything to be your followers!”
29 Jesus answered, “You can be sure that anyone who gives up home or wife or brothers or family or children because of God's kingdom

30 will be given much more in this life. And in the future world they will have eternal life.”

Jesus Again Tells about //His Death

(Matthew 20.17-19; Mark 10.32-34)

31 Jesus took the twelve apostles aside and said:
We are now on our way to Jerusalem. Everything that the prophets wrote about the Son of Man will happen there. 32 He will be handed over to foreigners, t who will make fun of him, mistreat him, and spit on him.

33 They will beat him and kill him, but three days later he will rise to life.

34 The apostles did not understand what Jesus was talking about. They could not understand, because the meaning of what he said was hidden from them.

Jesus Heals a Blind Beggar

(Matthew 20.29-34; Mark 10.46-52)

39 The people who were going along with Jesus told the man to be quiet. But he shouted even louder, “Son of David, have pity on me!”
40 Jesus stopped and told some people to bring the blind man over to him. When the blind man was getting near, Jesus asked,

41 “What do you want me to do for you?”
“Lord, I want to see!” he answered.
42 Jesus replied, “Look and you will see! Your eyes are healed because of your faith.” 43 At once the man could see, and he went with Jesus and started thanking God. When the crowds saw what happened, they praised God.
