Lukas 19
1 Dann kam Jesus nach Jericho hinein und zog durch den Ort.2 Nun wohnte dort ein Mann mit Namen Zachäus,t ein reicher Oberzöllner.3 Der wollte Jesus gern von Angesicht sehen; doch des Gedränges wegen gelang es ihm nicht, denn er war klein von Gestalt.4 Da lief er dem Zug voraus und stieg auf einen Maulbeerfeigenbaum, um ihn zu sehen; denn dort mußte er vorüberkommen.5 Als nun Jesus an die Stelle kam, sah er zu ihm auf und rief: "Zachäus, komm schnell herab; denn ich muß heute in deinem Haus einkehren!"6 Da stieg er eilend hinunter und nahm ihn mit Freuden auf.7 Alle, die dies sahen, murrten und sprachen: "Er ist bei einem Sünder als Gast eingekehrt!"8 Zachäus aber trat hervor und sagte zu dem Herrn: "Sieh, Herr, die Hälfte meiner Habe will ich den Armen geben; und wenn ich einem unrechtmäßig etwas abgefordert habe, so zahle ich es ihm vierfach zurück."t9 Da wandte sich Jesus zu ihm und sprach zu den Leuten: "Heute ist diesem Haus Heil zuteil geworden, weil er aucht zu Abrahams Söhnen zählt.10 Denn der Menschensohn ist gekommen, um das Verlorene zu suchen und zu retten."11 Als die Leute noch auf diese Worte lauschten, fuhr er weiter fort und erzählte ein Gleichnis.t Denn er war nun ganz nahe bei Jerusalem,t und man meinte, Gottes Königreich müsse jetzt sofort erscheinen.12 Er sprach: "Ein Mann von hoher Herkunft zog in ein fernes Land, um sich von dort die Königswürde zu holen und dann zurückzukommen.t13 Der rief zehn von seinen Knechten, gab ihnen zehn Pfundt und sprach zu ihnen: 'Treibt damit Handel, bis ich wiederkomme.'14 Seine Mitbürger aber haßten ihn und schickten nach seiner Abreise eine Gesandtschaft, durch die siet sagen ließen: 'Wir wollen diesen Mann nicht zu unserem König haben.'15 Als er nun im Besitz der Königswürde wieder heimkam, ließ er die Knechte zu sich rufen, denen er das Geld gegeben hatte, um zu erfahren, wieviel ein jeder damit erworben habe.16 Da erschien der erste und sprach: 'Herr, dein Pfund hat zehn Pfund eingebracht.'17 Sein Herr erwiderte: 'Recht so, du wackerer Knecht! Weil du in so wenigem getreu gewesen bist, sollst du nun Machthaber über zehn Städte sein.'18 Dann kam der zweite und sagte: 'Dein Pfund, Herr, hat fünf Pfund gewonnen.'19 Zu dem sprach er: 'Du sollst Verwalter von fünf Städten sein.'20 Nun kam der dritte und sprach: 'Hier hast du, Herr, dein Pfund, das ich in ein Tuch gewickelt und aufbewahrt habe.21 Denn ich hatte Furcht vor dir, weil du ein strenger Mann bist: du hebst ab, was du nicht angelegt, und erntest, was du nicht gesät.'22 Da sprach der Herr zu ihm: 'Nach deinen eigenen Worte will ich dir, gewissenloser Knecht, das Urteil sprechen. Du kanntest mich als einen strengen Mann: der abhebt, was er nicht angelegt, und erntet, was er nicht gesät.23 Warum hast du da mein Geld nicht auf die Bank gegeben? Dann hätte ich's bei meiner Rückkehr mit Zinsen abgehoben.'24 Und er befahl seinen Dienern, die dastanden: 'Nehmt ihm das Pfund und gebt es dem, der die zehn Pfund hat!'25 Sie meinten: 'Herr, er hat ja schon zehn Pfund.'t26 'Ich sage euch: Wer (viel) hat, der soll (noch mehr) empfangen; wer aber nichts hat,t dem soll sogar das (wenige), was er hat,t genommen werden.t27 Doch meine Feinde, die mich nicht zum König haben wollten — bringt sie her und haut sie nieder vor meinen Augen!'"t28 Nach diesen Worten zog er an der Spitze seiner Jünger weiter auf der Wanderung nach Jerusalem.t29 Als er in die Nähe von Bethphage und Bethanien, an den sogenannten Ölberg, kam, entsandte er zwei von seinen Jüngern30 mit dem Auftrag: "Geht in das Dorf, das vor euch liegt! Dort werdet ihr am Eingang ein Eselsfüllen angebunden finden, auf dem noch nie ein Mensch gesessen hat. Das bindet los und führt es her!31 Und fragt euch jemand: 'Warum bindet ihr es los?', dann sollt ihr sagen: 'Der Herr bedarf sein.'"32 Die Abgesandten gingen hin und fanden das Füllen so, wie er gesagt hatte.33 Als sie es aber losbinden wollten, sprachen die Eigentümer zu ihnen: "Warum bindet ihr das Füllen los?"34 Sie antworteten: "Der Herr bedarf sein."35 Dann brachten sie es zu Jesus, legten ihre Mäntel auf des Füllens Rücken und setzten Jesus darauf.36 Während er dahinritt, breiteten manche ihre Mäntel auf dem Weg aus.37 Als er der Stelle nahekam, wo sich der Ölberg ins Tal hinabsenkt, begann die ganze Schar der Jünger ob all der Wundertaten, die sie gesehen hatten, mit lauter Stimme freudig Gott zu preisen;38 sie riefen: "Gesegnet sei der König, der da kommt im Namen des Herrn!t Im Himmel wohnt Friede,t und Lobgesänge klingen droben in der Höhe."t39 Da sprachen einige Pharisäer aus der Menge zu ihm: "Meister, verbiete doch deinen Jüngern dieses Treiben!"40 Aber er antwortete: "Ich sage euch: Wenn diese schwiegen, so müßten die Steine schreien."t41 Als er näherkam und die Stadt erblickte, da weinte ert über sie42 und klagte: "Ach, möchtest doch auch dut erkennen, wenigstens an diesem Tag,t was zu deinem Heil dient! Nun abert ist's vor deinen Augen verborgen.t43 Denn es kommen Tage über dich, da werden deine Feinde dich mit einem Wall umgeben, dich rings umlagern und von allen Seiten bedrängen.t44 Ja sie werden dich dem Erdboden gleichmachen, und deine Kinder, die in deinen Mauern sind, werden sie zu Boden schmettern;t sie werden keinen Stein an dir auf dem anderen lassen zur Strafe dafür, daß du nicht erkannt hast die Zeit, da Gott sein Heil dir angeboten hat."45 Da ging er in den Tempel. Dort fing er an, die Verkäufer hinauszutreiben,46 und sprach zu ihnen: "Es steht geschrieben: Mein Haus soll ein Bethaus sein.t Ihr aber habt eine Räuberhöhle daraus gemacht."t47 Er lehrte täglich im Tempel. Die Hohenpriester aber und die Schriftgelehrten samt den Obersten des Volkes trachteten ihm nach dem Leben.48 Doch sie fanden keine Gelegenheit, ihre Absicht auszuführen; denn alles Volk hing an seinen Lippen.
Luke 19
1 And he entered and was passing through Jericho.2 And behold, a man called by name Zacchaeus; and he was a chief publican, and he was rich.3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the crowd, because he was little of stature.4 And he ran on before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to-day I must abide at thy house.6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, He is gone in to lodge with a man that is a sinner.8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord, Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have wrongfully exacted aught of any man, I restore fourfold.9 And Jesus said unto him, To-day is salvation come to this house, forasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham.10 For the Son of man came to seek and to save that which was lost.11 And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they supposed that the kingdom of God was immediately to appear.12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country, to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.13 And he called ten servants of his, and gave them ten pounds, and said unto them, Trade ye herewith till I come.14 But his citizens hated him, and sent an ambassage after him, saying, We will not that this man reign over us.15 And it came to pass, when he was come back again, having received the kingdom, that he commanded these servants, unto whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by trading.16 And the first came before him, saying, Lord, thy pound hath made ten pounds more.17 And he said unto him, Well done, thou good servant: because thou wast found faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.18 And the second came, saying, Thy pound, Lord, hath made five pounds.19 And he said unto him also, Be thou also over five cities.20 And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I kept laid up in a napkin:21 for I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that which thou layedst not down, and reapest that which thou didst not sow.22 He saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I am an austere man, taking up that which I laid not down, and reaping that which I did not sow;23 then wherefore gavest thou not my money into the bank, and I at my coming should have required it with interest?24 And he said unto them that stood by, Take away from him the pound, and give it unto him that hath the ten pounds.25 And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.26 I say unto you, that unto every one that hath shall be given; but from him that hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken away from him.27 But these mine enemies, that would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.28 And when he had thus spoken, he went on before, going up to Jerusalem.29 And it came to pass, when he drew nigh unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount that is called Olivet, he sent two of the disciples,30 saying, Go your way into the village over against you; in which as ye enter ye shall find a colt tied, whereon no man ever yet sat: loose him, and bring him.31 And if any one ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say, The Lord hath need of him.32 And they that were sent went away, and found even as he had said unto them.33 And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt?34 And they said, The Lord hath need of him.35 And they brought him to Jesus: and they threw their garments upon the colt, and set Jesus thereon.36 And as he went, they spread their garments in the way.37 And as he was now drawing nigh, even at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen;38 saying, Blessed is the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.39 And some of the Pharisees from the multitude said unto him, Teacher, rebuke thy disciples.40 And he answered and said, I tell you that, if these shall hold their peace, the stones will cry out.41 And when he drew nigh, he saw the city and wept over it,42 saying, If thou hadst known in this day, even thou, the things which belong unto peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.43 For the days shall come upon thee, when thine enemies shall cast up a bank about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,44 and shall dash thee to the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.45 And he entered into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold,46 saying unto them, It is written, And my house shall be a house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of robbers.47 And he was teaching daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the principal men of the people sought to destroy him:48 and they could not find what they might do; for the people all hung upon him, listening.
