اختیارات عیسی

(متّی 23:21-27؛ مرقس 27:11-33)

1 یک روز وقتی عیسی مردم را در معبد بزرگ تعلیم می‌داد و مژدهٔ نجات را به ایشان اعلام می‌کرد سران كاهنان و علما به اتّفاق مشایخ یهود نزد او آمدند 2 و گفتند: «به ما بگو به چه اختیاری این كارها را می‌کنی؟ چه کسی به تو این اختیار را داده است؟» 3 عیسی به آنان پاسخ داد: «من هم از شما سؤالی دارم، به من بگویید 4 آیا تعمید یحیی از جانب خدا بود یا از جانب بشر؟» 5 آنها بین خود بحث كرده گفتند: «اگر بگوییم از جانب خدا بود، او خواهد گفت: چرا به او ایمان نیاوردید؟ 6 و اگر بگوییم: از جانب بشر، همهٔ مردم ما را سنگباران خواهند كرد، چون یقین دارند كه یحیی یک نبی بود.» 7 پس گفتند: «ما نمی‌دانیم از كجاست.»

8 عیسی به ایشان گفت: «من هم به شما نمی‌گویم كه با چه اختیاری این كارها را می‌کنم.»

مَثَل تاكستان و باغبانان

(متّی 33:21-46؛ مرقس 1:12-12)

9 عیسی به سخن خود ادامه داد و برای مردم مَثَلی آورده گفت: «مردی تاكستانی احداث كرد و آن را به باغبانان سپرد و مدّت درازی به سفر رفت. 10 در موسم انگور، غلامی را نزد باغبانان فرستاد تا سهم خود را از محصول تاكستان بگیرد. امّا آنها غلام را كتک زدند و دست‌خالی بازگردانیدند. 11 صاحب تاكستان غلام دیگری فرستاد، او را هم كتک زده و با او بدرفتاری كردند و دست‌خالی برگردانیدند. 12 غلام سوم را فرستاد. این یكی را هم زخمی كردند و بیرون انداختند. 13 پس صاحب تاكستان گفت: 'چه باید بكنم؟ پسر عزیز خود را می‌فرستم، شاید حرمت او را نگه‌ دارند.' 14 امّا باغبانان وقتی او را دیدند با هم بحث كردند و گفتند: 'این وارث است بیایید او را بكشیم تا مِلک به خودمان برسد.' 15 پس او را از تاكستان بیرون انداختند و كشتند. حالا صاحب تاكستان با آنان چه خواهد كرد؟

16 او می‌آید و این باغبانان را می‌کشد و تاكستان را به دست دیگران می‌سپارد.»
وقتی مردم این را شنیدند گفتند: «خدا نكند!»

17 امّا او به ایشان نگاه كرد و فرمود: «پس معنی این قسمت از کتاب‌مقدّس چیست؟
'آن سنگی كه بنّایان رد كردند،
اکنون مهمترین سنگ بنا شده است.'

18 هرکه بر آن سنگ بیفتد خرد خواهد شد و اگر آن سنگ بر كسی بیفتد او را کاملاً نرم خواهد كرد.»

پرداخت مالیات به قیصر

(متّی 15:22-22؛ مرقس 13:12-17)

19 علمای یهود و سران كاهنان می‌خواستند در همان لحظه او را بگیرند، چون پی بردند كه مقصود آن مَثَل خود آنهاست امّا از مردم می‌ترسیدند. 20 پس به دنبال فرصت می‌گشتند و مأموران مخفی كه خود را دیندار نشان می‌دادند نزد او فرستادند تا حرفی از دهان او بربایند و آن را دستاویزی برای تسلیم او به دستگاه قضایی و حوزهٔ اختیارات فرماندار رومی قرار دهند. 21 از او پرسیدند: «ای استاد، ما می‌دانیم آنچه تو می‌گویی و تعلیم می‌دهی درست و بجاست. تو در مورد هیچ‌کس تبعیض قایل نمی‌شوی بلكه با راستی و درستی راه خدا را تعلیم می‌دهی. 22 آیا ما مجاز هستیم كه به امپراتوری روم مالیات بدهیم یا نه؟» 23 عیسی به نیرنگ آنان پی برد و فرمود: 24 «یک سکّهٔ نقره به من نشان بدهید. نقش و عنوان چه كسی روی آن است؟» جواب دادند: «قیصر» 25 عیسی فرمود: «پس آنچه مال قیصر است به قیصر و آنچه مال خداست به خدا بدهید.»

26 به این ترتیب كوشش آنان برای به دست آوردن مدركی علیه او در برابر مردم بی‌اثر ماند و درحالی‌که از جواب او حیرت كرده بودند خاموش ماندند.

رستاخیز مردگان

(متّی 23:22-33؛ مرقس 18:12-27)

27 بعد چند نفر از صدوقیان كه منكر رستاخیز پس از مرگ بودند جلو آمدند و از او پرسیدند: 28 «ای استاد، موسی این دستور را برای ما نوشت: چنانچه مردی زنی بگیرد ولی بدون فرزند بمیرد برادرش موظّف است آن زن را بگیرد تا برای برادر خود فرزندانی بیاورد. 29 حالا هفت برادر بودند، اولی زنی گرفت و بدون فرزند مرد. 30 بعد دومی او را گرفت 31 و سپس سومی و همین‌طور هر هفت نفر مردند و هیچ فرزندی بجا نگذاشتند. 32 بعد از همه، آن زن هم مرد. 33 در روز رستاخیز، او باید زن کدام‌یک باشد؟ چون هر هفت نفر با او ازدواج كردند.» 34 عیسی به ایشان فرمود: «زنها و مردان این جهان ازدواج می‌کنند. 35 امّا کسانی‌که شایستهٔ رسیدن به جهان آینده و رستاخیز از مردگان بشوند، زن نمی‌گیرند و شوهر نمی‌کنند، 36 زیرا آنها مانند فرشتگان هستند. دیگر مرگ برای آنان محال است و چون در رستاخیز شركت دارند فرزندان خدا هستند. 37 این مطلب كه مردگان بار دیگر زنده می‌شوند، مطلبی است كه خود موسی در داستان بوتهٔ سوزان، آنجا كه خداوند را خدای ابراهیم و خدای اسحاق و خدای یعقوب، خطاب می‌کند نشان داده است. 38 خدا، خدای مردگان نیست بلكه خدای زندگان است چون نزد او همه زنده‌‌‌اند.» 39 در این مورد بعضی از علما گفتند: «ای استاد، عالی جواب دادی.»

40 و پس از آن دیگر جرأت نكردند كه از او چیزی بپرسند.

داوود و مسیح

(متّی 41:22-46؛ مرقس 35:12-37)

41 عیسی به ایشان فرمود: «چطور می‌توان گفت كه مسیح پسر داوود است؟

42 چون خود داوود در كتاب زبور می‌گوید:
'خداوند به خداوند من فرمود:
در دست راست من بنشین

43 تا دشمنانت را زیر پای تو اندازم.'

44 باری، داوود او را 'خداوند' خطاب می‌کند، پس چطور او می‌تواند پسر داوود باشد؟»

سرزنش علما

(متّی 1:23-36؛ مرقس 38:12-40)

45 عیسی در حضور همهٔ مردم به شاگردان فرمود: 46 «از علما كه دوست دارند با قباهای بلند بیایند و بروند و علاقهٔ شدیدی به سلامهای احترام‌آمیز در بازارها و بهترین جاها در كنیسه‌ها و صدر مجالس ضیافت نشان می‌دهند، برحذر باشید. 47 آنان مال بیوه زنها را می‌بلعند حال آنكه محض خودنمایی نماز را طول می‌دهند. آنها شدیدترین كیفرها را خواهند دید.»

LUKE 20

A Question //about Jesus' Authority

(Matthew 21.23-27; Mark 11.27-33)

1 One day, Jesus was teaching in the temple and telling the good news. So the chief priests, the teachers, and the nation's leaders

2 asked him, “What right do you have to do these things? Who gave you this authority?”
3 Jesus replied, “I want to ask you a question.

4 Who gave John the right to baptize? Was it God in heaven or merely some human being?”
5 They talked this over and said to each other, “We can't say God gave John this right. Jesus will ask us why we didn't believe John.

6 And we can't say it was merely some human who gave John the right to baptize. The crowd will stone us to death, because they think John was a prophet.”

7 So they told Jesus, “We don't know who gave John the right to baptize.”

8 Jesus replied, “Then I won't tell you who gave me the right to do what I do.”

Renters of a Vineyard

(Matthew 21.33-46; Mark 12.1-12)

9  t Jesus told the people this story:
A man once planted a vineyard and rented it out. Then he left the country for a long time. 10 When it was time to harvest the crop, he sent a servant to ask the renters for his share of the grapes. But they beat up the servant and sent him away without anything. 11 So the owner sent another servant. The renters also beat him up. They insulted him terribly and sent him away without a thing.

12 The owner sent a third servant. He was also beaten terribly and thrown out of the vineyard.

13 The owner then said to himself, “What am I going to do? I know what. I'll send my son, the one I love so much. They will surely respect him!”
14 When the renters saw the owner's son, they said to one another, “Someday he will own the vineyard. Let's kill him! Then we can have it all for ourselves.”

15 So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.
Jesus asked, “What do you think the owner of the vineyard will do?

16 I'll tell you what. He will come and kill those renters and let someone else have his vineyard.”
When the people heard this, they said, “This must never happen!”
17  t But Jesus looked straight at them and said, “Then what do the Scriptures mean when they say, ‘The stone the builders tossed aside is now the most important stone of all’?

18 Anyone who stumbles over this stone will get hurt, and anyone it falls on will be smashed to pieces.”

19 The chief priests and the teachers of the Law of Moses knew that Jesus was talking about them when he was telling this story. They wanted to arrest him right then, but they were afraid of the people.

Paying Taxes

(Matthew 22.15-22; Mark 12.13-17)

20 Jesus' enemies kept watching him closely, because they wanted to hand him over to the Roman governor. So they sent some men who pretended to be good. But they were really spies trying to catch Jesus saying something wrong. 21 The spies said to him, “Teacher, we know you teach the truth about what God wants people to do. And you treat everyone with the same respect, no matter who they are.

22 Tell us, should we pay taxes to the Emperor or not?”
23 Jesus knew they were trying to trick him. So he told them,

24 “Show me a coin.” Then he asked, “Whose picture and name are on it?”
“The Emperor's,” they answered.
25 Then he told them, “Give the Emperor what belongs to him and give God what belongs to God.”

26 Jesus' enemies could not catch him saying anything wrong there in front of the people. They were amazed at his answer and kept quiet.

Life in the Future World

(Matthew 22.23-33; Mark 12.18-27)

27  t The Sadducees did not believe that people would rise to life after death. So some of them came to Jesus

28 t and said:
Teacher, Moses wrote that if a married man dies and has no children, his brother should marry the widow. Their first son would then be thought of as the son of the dead brother.
29 There were once seven brothers. The first one married, but died without having any children. 30 The second one married his brother's widow, and he also died without having any children. 31 The same thing happened to the third one. Finally, all seven brothers married this woman and died without having any children. 32 At last the woman died.

33 When God raises people from death, whose wife will this woman be? All seven brothers had married her.

34 Jesus answered:
The people in this world get married. 35 But in the future world no one who is worthy to rise from death will either marry

36 or die. They will be like the angels and will be God's children, because they have been raised to life.
37  t In the story about the burning bush, Moses clearly shows that people will live again. He said, “The Lord is the God worshiped by Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”t

38 So the Lord isn't the God of the dead, but of the living. This means that everyone is alive as far as God is concerned.
39 Some of the teachers of the Law of Moses said, “Teacher, you have given a good answer!”

40 From then on, no one dared to ask Jesus any questions.

About David's Son

(Matthew 22.41-46; Mark 12.35-37)

41 Jesus asked, “Why do people say that the Messiah will be the son of King David?t

42 t In the book of Psalms, David himself says,
‘The Lord said to my Lord,
Sit at my right sidet

43 until I make your enemies
into a footstool for you.’

44 David spoke of the Messiah as his Lord, so how can the Messiah be his son?”

Jesus and the Teachers //of the Law of Moses

(Matthew 23.1-36; Mark 12.38-40; Luke 11.37-54)

45 While everyone was listening to Jesus, he said to his disciples:
46 Guard against the teachers of the Law of Moses! They love to walk around in long robes, and they like to be greeted in the market. They want the front seats in the synagogues and the best seats at banquets. 47 But they cheat widows out of their homes and then pray long prayers just to show off. These teachers will be punished most of all.
