누가복음서 21

과부의 헌금

(막 12:41-44)

1  예수께서 눈을 들어 부자들이 헌금궤에 t헌금 넣는 것을 보시고, 2 또 어떤 가난한 과부가 거기에 t렙돈 두 닢을 넣는 것을 보셨다. 3 그래서 예수께서는 말씀하셨다. “내가 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 이 가난한 과부가 누구보다도 더 많이 넣었다. 4 저 사람들은 다 넉넉한 가운데서 자기들의 t헌금을 넣었지만, 이 과부는 구차한 가운데서 가지고 있는 생활비 전부를 털어 넣었다.”

성전이 무너질 것을 예언하시다

(마 24:1-2; 막 13:1-2)

5 몇몇 사람들이 성전을 가리켜서, 아름다운 돌과 봉헌물로 꾸며 놓았다고 말들을 하니, 예수께서 말씀하셨다. 6 “너희가 보고 있는 이것들이, 돌 한 개도 돌 위에 남지 않고 다 무너질 날이 올 것이다.”

재난의 징조

(마 24:3-14; 막 13:3-13)

7 제자들이 예수께 물었다. “선생님, 그러면 이런 일들이 언제 있겠습니까? 또 이런 일이 일어나려고 할 때에는, 무슨 징조가 있겠습니까?” 8 예수께서 대답하셨다. “너희는 속지 않도록 조심하여라. 많은 사람이 내 이름으로 와서 말하기를 ‘내가 그리스도다’ 하거나, ‘때가 가까이 왔다’ 할 것이다. 그러나 그들을 따라가지 말아라. 9 전쟁과 난리의 소문을 듣더라도 두려워하지 말아라. 이런 일이 반드시 먼저 일어나야 한다. 그러나 종말이 곧 오는 것은 아니다.” 10 그 때에 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. “민족이 일어나 민족을 치고, 나라가 일어나 나라를 칠 것이다. 11 큰 지진이 나고, 곳곳에 기근과 역병이 생기고, 하늘로부터 무서운 일과 큰 징조가 나타날 것이다. 12 그러나 이 모든 일이 일어나기에 앞서, 사람들이 너희에게 손을 대어 박해하고, 너희를 회당과 감옥에 넘겨줄 것이다. 너희는 내 이름 때문에 왕들과 총독들 앞에 끌려갈 것이다. 13 그러나 이것이, 너희에게는 증언할 기회가 될 것이다. 14 그러므로 너희는 변호할 말을 미리부터 생각하지 않도록 명심하여라. 15 나는 너희의 모든 적대자들이 맞서거나 반박할 수 없는 구변과 지혜를 너희에게 주겠다. 16 너희의 부모와 형제와 친척과 친구들까지도 너희를 넘겨줄 것이요, 너희 가운데서 더러는 죽일 것이다. 17 너희는 내 이름 때문에, 모든 사람에게 미움을 받을 것이다. 18 그러나 너희는 머리카락 하나도 잃지 않을 것이다. 19 너희는 참고 견디는 가운데 너희의 목숨을 t얻어라.”

예루살렘의 멸망을 예언하시다

(마 24:15-21; 막 13:14-19)

20 “예루살렘이 군대에게 포위 당하는 것을 보거든, 그 도성의 파멸이 가까이 온 줄 알아라. 21 그 때에 유대에 있는 사람들은 산으로 도망하고, 그 도성 안에 있는 사람들은 거기에서 빠져나가고, 산골에 있는 사람들은 그 성 안으로 들어가지 말아라. 22 그 때가 기록된 모든 말씀이 이루어질 징벌의 날들이기 때문이다. 23 그 날에는, 아이 밴 여자들과 젖먹이가 딸린 여자들은 화가 있다. 땅에는 큰 재난이 닥치겠고, 이 백성에게는 무서운 진노가 내릴 것이다. 24 그들은 칼날에 쓰러지고, 뭇 이방 나라에 포로로 잡혀갈 것이요, 예루살렘은 이방 사람들의 때가 차기까지, 이방 사람들에게 짓밟힐 것이다.”

인자가 오실 때의 현상

(마 24:29-31; 막 13:24-27)

25 “그리고 해와 달과 별들에서 징조들이 나타나고, 땅에서는 민족들이 바다와 파도의 성난 소리 때문에 어쩔 줄을 몰라서 괴로워할 것이다. 26 사람들은 세상에 닥쳐올 일들을 예상하고, 무서워서 기절할 것이다. 하늘의 세력들이 흔들릴 것이기 때문이다. 27 그 때에 사람들은 인자가 큰 권능과 영광을 띠고 구름을 타고 오는 것을 볼 것이다. 28 이런 일들이 일어나기 시작하거든, 일어서서 너희의 머리를 들어라. 너희의 구원이 가까워지고 있기 때문이다.”

무화과나무의 교훈

(마 24:32-35; 막 13:28-31)

29  예수께서 그들에게 비유를 하나 말씀하셨다. “무화과나무와 모든 나무를 보아라. 30 잎이 돋으면, 너희는 스스로 보고서, 여름이 벌써 가까이 온 줄을 안다. 31 이와 같이 너희도 이런 일들이 일어나는 것을 보거든, 하나님의 나라가 가까이 온 줄로 알아라. 32 내가 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 이 세대가 끝나기 전에, 이 모든 일이 다 일어날 것이다. 33 하늘과 땅은 없어질지라도, 내 말은 절대로 없어지지 않을 것이다.”

깨어 있어라

34 “너희는 스스로 조심해서, 방탕과 술취함과 세상살이의 걱정으로 너희의 마음이 짓눌리지 않게 하고, 또한 그 날이 덫과 같이 너희에게 닥치지 않게 하여라. 35 그 날은 온 땅에 사는 모든 사람에게 닥칠 것이다. 36 그러니 너희는 앞으로 일어날 이 모든 일을 능히 피하고, 또 인자 앞에 설 수 있도록, 기도하면서 늘 깨어 있어라.” 37  예수께서는, 낮에는 성전에서 가르치시고, 밤에는 나와서 올리브 산이라고 하는 산에서 지내셨다. 38 그런데 모든 백성이 그의 말씀을 들으려고, 이른 아침부터 성전으로 모여들었다.

LUKE 21

A Widow's Offering

(Mark 12.41-44)

1 Jesus looked up and saw some rich people tossing their gifts into the offering box. 2 He also saw a poor widow putting in a few cents. 3 And he said, “I tell you that this poor woman has put in more than all the others.

4 Everyone else gave what they didn't need. But she is very poor and gave everything she had.”

The Temple Will Be Destroyed

(Matthew 24.1,2; Mark 13.1,2)

5 Some people were talking about the beautiful stones used to build the temple and about the gifts that had been placed in it. Jesus said,

6 “Do you see these stones? The time is coming when not one of them will be left in place. They will all be knocked down.”

Warning about Trouble

(Matthew 24.3-14; Mark 13.3-13)

7  t Some people asked, “Teacher, when will all this happen? How can we know when these things are about to take place?”

8 Jesus replied:
Don't be fooled by those who will come and claim to be me. They will say, “I am Christ!” and “Now is the time!” But don't follow them.

9 When you hear about wars and riots, don't be afraid. These things will have to happen first, but this isn't the end.
10 Nations will go to war against one another, and kingdoms will attack each other.

11 There will be great earthquakes, and in many places people will starve to death and suffer terrible diseases. All sorts of frightening things will be seen in the sky.
12 Before all this happens, you will be arrested and punished. You will be tried in your synagogues and put in jail. Because of me you will be placed on trial before kings and governors.

13 But this will be your chance to tell about your faith.
14  t Don't worry about what you will say to defend yourselves. 15 I will give you the wisdom to know what to say. None of your enemies will be able to oppose you or to say that you are wrong. 16 You will be betrayed by your own parents, brothers, family, and friends. Some of you will even be killed. 17 Because of me, you will be hated by everyone. 18 But don't worry!t

19 You will be saved by being faithful to me.

Jerusalem Will Be Destroyed

(Matthew 24.15-21; Mark 13.14-19)

20 When you see Jerusalem surrounded by soldiers, you will know that it will soon be destroyed. 21 If you are living in Judea at this time, run to the mountains. If you are in the city, leave it. And if you are out in the country, don't go back into the city. 22 t This time of punishment is what is written about in the Scriptures. 23 It will be an awful time for women who are expecting babies or nursing young children! Everywhere in the land people will suffer horribly and be punished.

24 Some of them will be killed by swords. Others will be carried off to foreign countries. Jerusalem will be overrun by foreign nations until their time comes to an end.

When the Son of Man Appears

(Matthew 24.29-31; Mark 13.24-27)

25  t Strange things will happen to the sun, moon, and stars. The nations on earth will be afraid of the roaring sea and tides, and they won't know what to do. 26 People will be so frightened that they will faint because of what is happening to the world. Every power in the sky will be shaken.t 27 t Then the Son of Man will be seen, coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

28 When all of this starts happening, stand up straight and be brave. You will soon be set free.

A Lesson from a Fig Tree

(Matthew 24.32-35; Mark 13.28-31)

29 Then Jesus told them a story:
When you see a fig tree or any other tree 30 putting out leaves, you know that summer will soon come. 31 So, when you see these things happening, you know that God's kingdom will soon be here. 32 You can be sure that some of the people of this generation will still be alive when all of this takes place.

33 The sky and the earth won't last forever, but my words will.

A Warning

34 Don't spend all of your time thinking about eating or drinking or worrying about life. If you do, the final day will suddenly catch you 35 like a trap. This day will surprise everyone on earth.

36 Watch out and keep praying that you can escape all that is going to happen and that the Son of Man will be pleased with you.
37  t Jesus taught in the temple each day, and he spent each night on the Mount of Olives. 38 Everyone got up early and came to the temple to hear him teach.
